Highs in the 90s

Forgive the detour from my usual comic book catalog , but a gloriously absurd memory clawed its way out of my mental attic the other day and I have no idea how I ever buried it.

Back in the 1990s, there existed an entire niche of adult models and performers famous for their overly-ambitious implants. And I’m not exaggerating with this sketch. If anything this image might actually be modest by comparison.

The internet was still pretty new back then, so these larger-than-life figures mostly lived in the glossy pages of men’s magazines, like the one I’ve imagined here. And occasionally they popped up on some trashy daytime talk shows, which were also really popular back then (set the VCR!). And they all had stage names like Tiffany Towers, Wendy Whoppers, Lisa Lipps, Melissa Mounds, Pandora Peaks. Hmmm…a lot of alliteration, now that I think about it. 🤔

Anyway, obsession or oddity, they were definitely an acquired taste. And for my money, no weirder than the latest covering-your-body-with-tattoos craze (don't get me started). It’s just funny how, with all the gravity-defying AI juggs bouncing through my timeline these days, I hadn’t thought of the originals in years.

Ok thanks for indulging me on this recovered memory. More superhero stuff coming.

Man, the first adult magazine I ever bought was “Gent, Home of the D-Cup” I was just trying to get the SI Swimsuit issue, but this old man didn’t care. Score and Voluptuous soon followed. I think I was his best customer for like two years. Loved those magazines, still have a few.
