Unshaken Under Pressure

Snow drifts quietly across the range as she settles into position, rifle steady, breath slow and controlled. Just as she lines up her shot, a strange, growing pressure tightens against her competition suit, the fabric stretching more with each second. Her eyes flick downward briefly, cheeks flushing as the snug blue material pulls taut while her chest gradually expands, the added weight pressing gently into the snow beneath her.

She swallows, embarrassed but determined, adjusting her posture as the weight oddly stabilizes her stance instead of throwing her off. “Focus,” she whispers to herself, exhaling slowly as her training takes over. Despite the surreal distraction and the steady stretching of her suit mid-competition, her aim becomes perfectly still — grounded, locked in — and she calmly fires, refusing to break composure even as the impossible change continues during the most important seconds of her run.
