Watching Your Girlfriend Play Video Games
Catching up on posting some old videos I have

You’d meant to just grab a drink and head back to what you were doing, but you stopped in the doorway when you saw her.
She was already deep into her game, leaning forward in her chair, controller in hand, completely locked in. The soft glow from the monitor lit up the side of her face, reflecting in her glasses as colors flashed across the screen. Every now and then she’d tilt her head or mutter something under her breath — “No, no, NO— okay we’re good, we’re good” — like the character could hear her.
You leaned against the wall, smiling without realizing it. This was her happy place. Not dressed up, not trying to impress anyone, just fully in her element. When she finally noticed you, she glanced back over her shoulder with that quick half-grin.
“Don’t distract me,” she said, already turning back to the screen. “This boss has ruined my life three times tonight.”
You walked over anyway, setting your drink on the desk and watching the chaos unfold on screen. “You’ve got this. You always talk trash and then somehow clutch it.”
She snorted. “Emotional support only. No backseat gaming.”
So you stood there, quiet, watching her fingers move, listening to the soundtrack swell as the fight hit its final phase. When she finally won, she threw both hands up in victory.
“LET’S GOOO!”
Then she looked at you, eyes bright. “Okay. Your turn next. But if you die in under five minutes, I’m never letting you hear the end of it.”
And honestly? You wouldn’t have it any other way.
