Important Announce #2 - The Return

I'm back.

A note before I begin: Heavy subject matter below, so if you don't give a shit about my personal wellbeing then don't burden yourself. If you do, I thank you for caring.

A year ago today I started this Patreon. Then roughly six months ago I made the decision to step away from writing. At the time I didn't know if this was going to be permanent or temporary, I just knew I needed to stop.

It should come as no surprise that I loved, and still love writing, but by the time I stopped it had reached an unhealthy place. I've never been reticent about my desire for feedback: one of my Monday Thoughts was a piece complaining about the lack of response and how it affected me. The truth is much deeper.

Writing, but more specifically the positive responses I garnered, took over my life. The more I got, the more I wanted, hence the ludicrous upload schedule. I would compulsively check my page throughout the day, ignorant of my current setting, hoping for just one more like. Furthermore I was reckless with the time that I spent writing, letting it creep into other areas of my life.

This, combined with an obsession with pornography and an inability to be honest to myself and others with the problems I was facing was what led to me reaching a place where I had no choice but to pull the plug.

Since then I've done a lot of growth, and received a lot of help, both from professional therapy and from my wife, who I cannot thank enough for her patience and forgiveness through this period.

Now I've reached a place where I feel better about myself. I feel stronger, more confident, more in control.

And so I'm back! That being said things will not be 100% the same.

1. No Schedule. I'm no longer going to commit to any sort of release schedule. I'll write when I have time, and stories will get released when they're done. Time will tell what pace that ends up being. Non-exclusive stories will still be bound by the two month waiting period.

2. Reduced Interaction from Myself. Some of you may have read the above and thought "I shouldn't comment or message him, that would just make things worse". If so I thank you for thinking of me, but that's not necessary. I still really appreciate comments and messages, and I'm now in a better headspace to handle them. I'm just going to keep it all at arms length and self regulate how often I come on here to interact.

3. Subject matter. There are certain topics I'm not going to be including in my stories any more. I'm not going to get into specifics here, but I will say I'm not eliminating any specific type of expansion, just certain themes.

To all of you who stuck around, I appreciate your patience and loyalty. To those returning, welcome back. I hope you continue to enjoy my stories, as much as I'll enjoy writing them.
