Trogdor's Monday Thoughts - #4
It's been five months since I've started my Patreon.
21 Full Stories. 5 Mini Stories. 791 Pages. 322,316 Words.
It's obviously the most consistent set of releases I've ever done, though perhaps not quite as rapid-fire as certain periods in the past.
Regardless it's taken not a small amount of effort.
And before anyone jumps to conclusions, I'm not quitting. I love writing these stories, and have no intention of stopping, so don't worry if you got the impression I was heading to that specific point.
I just wanted to express some...I don't know if frustration is the right word...but it's close.
Last weekend (March 29th) I posted 'Duke and the Thief - Part 5' on T.O.B. as the two month delay period had passed since its original upload here at the end of January.
It should be no surprise that it's generally my most popular series in that it's the one that I receive the most feedback and praise for. When I send the personal welcome message to each of my subscribers, the most frequent response I get to the question "Have a favourite story?" is Duke and the Thief.
Well... I guess it's not as popular as it first was. Two weeks in and there's not a single piece of feedback on the site. Similarly for the last couple stories I posted.
Its just...draining. As I said it's effort writing these stories, and I care about them. I'm not just vomiting up words to hit a page count as fast as possible; I'm critical and mindful of how to craft the stories to be the best they can be. You'd be surprised how many story posts I've taken down after scheduling them for upload because I wanted to rewrite a section, knowing I could make it better.
And then after posting these stories, these creations I care about...to be hit with a wall of silence...it just sometimes feels like ...What's the point? Do they really care?
Obviously if you're reading this I know you do care. Care enough to toss me a few bucks every month, which I'm extremely grateful for.
Its just my own self doubt that goes "Ok...but do they actually like it?" Some of you do give likes and comments here which always brighten my day, and I cant thank those of you who do enough. I just wish you were the norm not the outliers.
Alright. That's enough Self Pity for one day.
Not trying to be unappreciative to those here, quite the opposite. Just wanted to say what I was feeling. I know it probably sounds dumb, and you're probably thinking "Dude, you write porn, what did you expect?" Which yeah, that's fair. Just looking for connection I guess...
Anyway.
To all of you, thanks for reading, and I cant thank you enough for your continual support. You guys are the best, and I love you all. This week's story is another outing with Mary and Leon that I hope you all enjoy.
