OP16 Meta Preview Report

Early Access — Patreon Exclusive

This is an early preview of the OP16 meta, with game data collected exclusively from our special OP16 preview queue. Results reflect a snapshot of where things stand right now — the meta is still shifting and we fully expect the landscape to evolve as we get closer to full release. Take these rankings as directional rather than definitive, but there are already some clear patterns worth talking about.

1. Blue/Yellow Nami

Nami sits at the top of the OP16 meta and shows no signs of slowing down. Her ability to protect herself as well as the abundance of heals makes her incredibly difficult to close out. The deck rewards patient, disciplined play and punishes opponents who overextend. Until something comes along that directly answers what she does, expect her to stay at the top of any meta conversation.

2. Purple Enel

Purple Enel remains one of the most dangerous decks in the format heading into OP16. What makes it so difficult to deal with is how efficiently it generates pressure — cheap characters become real threats every turn, and the deck's win conditions are nearly impossible to remove once they hit the board. Opponents are constantly forced to spend more resources than they want to, and Enel never really falls behind. A dominant, well-rounded deck that continues to perform at the highest level.

3. Purple/Yellow Rosinante

Rosinante returns to prominence in OP16 and it feels fully deserved. The deck is built around a core of characters that are extremely difficult to remove, with a leader effect that makes attacking into his board far more costly than opponents expect. It plays a long, grindy game and does it better than most. Players who have put time into this leader are finding it very well positioned right now.

4. Black/Yellow Blackbeard

This is a brand new leader in OP16 and already making waves. Rather than shutting down the opponent's gameplan like the previous Blackbeard leader, this one takes a more defensive and reactive approach — making your board harder to threaten while controlling where damage lands. It is a control-oriented deck with a unique identity that punishes opponents who don't respect it. Early results are promising and it will only get stronger as players learn the lines.

5. Blue/Green Luffy

Blue/Green Luffy is a new OP16 leader that has already made a strong impression. The deck applies persistent pressure through superior resource management, always seeming to have one more attack available than opponents plan for. Backed by solid type synergies, it plays a tempo-forward game that keeps opponents constantly on the back foot. One to watch as more players pick it up and refine the build.

6. Blue/Yellow Boa Hancock

Boa Hancock is built around a powerful engine that floods the board on the opponent's turn and keeps the hand full doing it. Her life management tools make her genuinely difficult to race down, and the deck has a way of turning defensive moments into offensive ones. A strong, well-rounded pick that rewards familiarity with her core synergies.

7. ST30 Luffy & Ace

The new Luffy & Ace leader brings a tight, synergy-driven gameplan built around a specific power threshold that the whole deck is designed around. The payoff is a board that becomes surprisingly resilient on the opponent's turn, with key characters that can attack immediately on the turn they are played. Still being refined, but the ceiling is clearly there.

(Decklist TBD - Currently not appearing in dataset)

8. Red/Blue Ace

Red/Blue Ace is a deck that thrives on outlasting opponents. Despite starting with fewer life cards than most leaders, he is remarkably hard to finish off, drawing into resources through damage and KOs and staying competitive deep into the late game. The deck builds steadily toward a strong endgame board and can close games efficiently once it gets there.

9. Black Yamato

The new OP16 Yamato leader is built around a trash recursion engine that turns the graveyard into a constant source of threats. Characters keep coming back and attack immediately when they do, creating a relentless loop that is difficult to keep up with. The deck is still being explored but the core gameplan is already putting up results.

10. Red Shanks

Shanks is a steady, reliable presence and OP16 has given him a shot in the arm. A new Benn Beckman provides the deck with a solid blocker that adds a layer of flexibility it previously lacked, shoring up some of the matchups where the deck could be run over. The fundamentals that have always made Shanks strong are all still there, and this addition makes him a more complete and well-rounded option heading into the new format.

Conclusion

OP16 is shaping up to be a format with real depth at the top. Nami takes the crown with Enel close behind, while Rosinante's return and the new Blackbeard leader add fresh dynamics that will take time to fully map out. This data is still early — we'll keep running games through the queue and update the report as the picture sharpens. As always, pilot what you know and play to your strengths.
