Introducing Take the Wheel
Since we started this channel, our best decisions have always been the ones that let our community choose what we react to.
There are lots of ways to get involved in what we watch, but there's always been a gap. If you really want us to react to something specific, and you're not a high-tier Patreon member or part of our K-Pop Council, it can feel like shouting into the void.
We've wanted to close that gap for a long time, in a way that feels fair, manageable and true to how we make things. We think we've found one, and we wanted you to hear about it here first.
It's called Take the Wheel, and it lets you pay for a reaction of your choice. You send us a K-pop video, and we react to it on YouTube.
There are three sizes, depending on how long the video is:
Single (£10) covers anything up to around five minutes, such as an MV, a live stage or a dance practice. 8 slots available.
Mini (£20) covers five to twenty minutes, such as a variety clip, a longer playlist or an interview. 3 slots available.
Full (£40) covers twenty minutes to an hour, such as a full variety episode, a concert segment or a documentary episode. 1 slot available.
Once you've sent a request, we'll confirm we've got it within two days, and within two weeks we'll let you know when your reaction will go up. If YouTube blocks one, we'll post it here on Patreon instead, free for anyone to watch.
A few things matter to us about how this works:
Our reactions are always honest. We might feel very differently about a video than the person who sent it, and that's part of the fun.
We'll only take requests we're confident won't be blocked and that we're happy to do. If we can't take one, it's refunded in full.
We won't take episodes from any series we're reacting to here on Patreon. Those stay with you, and paid requests won't move them to YouTube.
Slots are limited, so Take the Wheel never gets in the way of everything else we make. As a thank you for everything you already do for us, we'll give priority to requests from Patreon members. If you'd like to take advantage of that, just tell us the name you use here when you send your request, so we can match it up.
Nothing about your membership changes, and we won't stop doing anything here because of this. Everything you get stays exactly as it is. Take the Wheel is an extra, not a replacement, and it's mainly for people who watch us on YouTube and want a way to have their say.

Hi! I have a question about Take the Wheel, just to understand how it works. Do the slots reopen as soon as a request has been fulfilled, do they reopen each month, or do they only reopen once all the requests in Take the Wheel have been fulfilled? And would there usually be an announcement when the slots reopen, or would we just need to keep checking? Thanks! 😊
At the moment, we will be opening up slots whenever we feel confident that we can make the time available to record them. Hopefully that will be very soon! There will absolutely be announcements, so don't feel like you need to keep checking.
A kinda dumb question but wanted to confirm. Like for slot 2. It’s max 20 min right. Like even if it’s a content say 21 minutes it’ll go to the slot 3?

By the looks of things, people are more interested in the longer video options. If that stays the case, then we'll move some things around to open up some more slots people actually want. In the meantime... sorry!!
Hey, it sounds like the money is paid before you confirm the request so just want to let you know of something which I experienced when using Ko-fi so that you aren't caught unawares. A portion is deducted by Ko-fi. So if someone sends you money and then you later decide you aren't able to do that request and need to refund their money, Ko-fi will have already taken a cut from their money on the way to you. Then if you pay back also via Ko-fi, that probably means the money gets deducted a second time. So, to refund someone their full amount, you may get the short end of the stick by having to pay more for the returning amount to end up being the actual amount that the requesting person spent. This may be a minor amount, though if it happens frequently, it can add up. But you could simply avoid getting dented and dinged by Ko-fi by checking approval of requests prior to people paying.
That's exactly right. Our listing encourages people to reach out to check if it's something that can be blocked, but the reality is that we won't always know in advance and we don't want to make the process feel more complicated than it needs to be. For now, we're happy to offer refunds in full, despite the minor ding from Ko-Fi. My personal expectation is that it will be rare that we need to refund at all. If I'm wrong.... well then I guess I'll change the policy! Haha

I'm curious! Can I request two separate (but a part of the same series) "variety" things (both are vlogs) in the Mini if they together fit into the 20 minute time limit?
