Major announcement coming soon
Sorry for the lack of information recently.
Last week was the lowest point in the game's development for me, ever. On Sunday 5th, for the first time since starting the project, I seriously considered bailing on it.
But I want to finish it. On Monday 6th, I was inspired by a quote:
What would you do if you weren't afraid?
This week, I've been working flat out on some big, scary changes to Female Agent. Major announcement to follow soon.

I'm not bailing. The new plan isn't 100% nailed down, but I want to show you where I'm at before the billing cycle comes up again (so you can make an informed decision about whether to keep supporting the project). I'll post what I've got NLT midday GMT tomorrow.
Don't think it's a coincidence that the next billing cycle is coming up and we still haven't heard anything. Wouldn't be surprised if he announces he is actually bailing on it, but only after collecting another 5k
Hate to say it but I've been thinking the same thing. I've been waiting til the last minute but I'm not gonna let myself be charged for the next cycle since chances are he's not gonna post today or tomorrow.
Little communication, considered bailing on it, posts a cryptic update, no response weeks later. Not good.
Look Crush, I know you're in recluse mode and you're probably not going to even read this, but I need to say a piece. I get that it's hard to face your patrons when you don't have anything to show for it, but right now anything is better than nothing two weeks after using the word "soon." You're shooting yourself in the foot right now. Again, I understand what it's like to have the pressure of expectation bearing down on you, especially when people have not been particularly kind about it. I have faced that myself and would also generally react by being reclusive. However, this is not the way to fix it. This is running away from it and letting it build. Despite it being an issue I am guilty of myself, I also must acknowledge that it is unhealthy and a way of exacerbating ones own problems. Furthermore, if you had nothing to show two weeks ago, you shouldn't have used the word "soon." That just builds more expectation and more pressure on you. At this point, you have to say something, do something, even if your secret project is nowhere close to completion. You need to tell your patrons something. I'm sure that a big part of the reason so many people stayed your patrons while the game remained essentially unchanged for a year was your constant source of updates. Now that you don't have that, people have no idea what you're doing and it's easy for people to assume that you're just pissing away their money. Whether or not that's true remains to be seen, but it's not hard to imagine when you're like this. If you want to keep your base, you need to communicate with them even if you're not making any big progress. You need to let them feel that there at least *is* progress, even if it isn't big. Silence will only make it worse for yourself, both in your head and in the comments.
what hapend? I been weeks, no updates...I am sorry but I think will have to take my patronage away.
Update tomorrow hopefully? It will have been 14 days since this. I don't know about the rest of you but "soon" to me means within a day or so, maybe a week. Would be nice to see what's happening as this game looks promising. I took this update as "I've just done a lot new stuff I just need to write it up in an announcement and release it properly in the morning"
I feel the same way about "soon." It should mean less than a week.
Even more wild and groundless speculation: all the talk of having "a Greta day" attracted Greta Thunberg's attention, she digs the game and there's now a whole plot arc in production in which Kate becomes the Green Terror, bane of Saudi princes and protector of delicate marine ecosystems, after falling in love with a cuddly reef shark.
Love you crush 😘 you do you chicky babes <3 ignore the hateful children <3
Stop all this childish drama and deliver your work. Be professional!
Seems to me like the patrons in general have been more childish than Crush has. Constantly hounding a person and berating them with personal attacks is rarely something that's going to help get something delivered. I'm not saying that Crush didn't drop the ball or that criticism is unwarranted. Crush did drop the ball, and criticism was surely due. But as a whole, his patrons have handled it like whiny babies instead of good customers themselves. You can understand why he might be stressed out about the idea of coming forward and presenting himself once again.
Crush, you go a month without posting and now it's been 5 days since your cryptic announcement of an announcement. Please show some respect to your patrons and tell us what's going on.
That's a good quote, worthy as a mantra! Quit beating yourself up (there are plenty of people in life who will do that for you) and believe in what you do. Ship what you are 80% happy with. Polish the 20% later but only after feedback.
Can you add religion into the game?
It's supposed to be porn, not horror.
C'mon, are you serious?? After all this time?? God bless the day I decided not to patreon you!
Are YOU serious? After a post that can only be described as weird with unclear grammar you decide to bail? From what I understand he started a new project inside FA, hit a roadblock and nearly considered bailing on that new project. NOT on Female Agent. Likely the big, scary changes are the addition of a kink system including bdsm.
Time for groundless speculation! Naughty Dog studios are taking over development.
More wild speculation: Crush is putting development on hold to run for President. (It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it!)
The story up until now is very good, and I enjoy taking the agent through her life and adventures. The scene in the hotel with Max is very good. Now when she goes to Bangkok everything she thought about sex, and all her likes and dislikes will all be thrown away. She will go through sever sexual trauma being a beautiful prostitute, and she will have choices to make in the face of such overwhelming pleasures. Keep going Crush, you got this!
I agree with the idea that you just have move on to the Thailand part of the story. There's always going to be stuff that you feel could be improved but that way you'll never get over whatever is going on with your at the moment. I love what you all have achieved so far and I'm willing to support you further but please, don't even think about bailing. There is so much potential here. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Make Thailand playable and let uns progress to the actual main part of the game and then upgrade stuff incrementally.
I want to believe, you can do it. The bailing out bit worries me though.
The Universe was born from imperfection. At the Big Bang if there would have been a perfect balance between matter and antimatter, the only thing the universe would have contained would be radiation. But because there was an imbalance, there was more matter than antimatter the Universe as we know it was born. Since the Universe was born from imperfection, nothing in existence can ever be perfect, no matter how much we struggle to reach it. It is a worthy goal to strive for perfection, because only then we improve, but always keep in mind "Nothing is perfect". Trying to make certain scenes perfect so that you can move on and never go back to them is a mistake. You will always go back and review older elements of the game. As the game grows, so will you. Later on you will have an inspiration for a scene and realize some older scenes could be improved to make the game even better and so on. When you reach the point where it feels like trying to put a square through a circle, don't keep trying over and over. Stop, do something else, move on. The game is in development. Just because during an update, some scenes are simpler or don't feel like they flow as they should, nobody will complain. Most likely fans will come with their own input and ideas and spark the inspiration you need to make the part amazing.
I agree with this. Improve scenes because you know how to improve them, not because you feel they're not the height of perfection; with no idea what they're missing and spending weeks of development just trying to figure it out.
Will you let us know the reason you considered bailing? You're usually positive so it's surprising. If it's something personal (ie, "my parents found out about the game and I was mortified") then you could skip the details and maybe just give broad strokes. Getting into Bangkok might also be in intimidating. If you need help figuring things out I'm sure we'd be happy throw throw ideas (and other stuff) at you :)
If you bail, please release the improvements to the engine. A large part of my support was because you were developing Twine to be able to make better games.
dont stress your self over it and take the time to relax, healthy body leads to healthy thoughts and strength to guide our mind.
I think you really just need to break open the door to Thailand. I feel like you keep yourself locked in this box of the game has to be perfect before moving on to the next step, but I feel that your creative energy will be much more realized once you decide to just take the plunge and start Thailand.
Take as much time as you want. No need to apologize!
