HD avatar tech test
I'm experimenting with a new way to deliver the avatar, which will make it display more crisply on HD screens. The existing avatar tech suffers from slight blurring, which can make it hard to see fine details like eye colour and makeup.
Check it out and let me know what you think. :-)

Very little to no difference, especially considering we'll look at a scaled down picture (full size is another story of course). But yes, if the effort is minimal why not.
Yeah it was too much effort to implement on its own, but since we'll need to redraw everything as part of the avatar upgrade we may as well do it in HD
Really noticeable! Great work! However it also exacerbates one of the minor details that annoys me way more than it should. The position of her fingers looks really unnatural. I know it's to show off the nail polish color, but to me her hands look like alien/squid tentacles. Maybe that's something that can be improved in the avatar update?
Thanks LAG, I'll bring that up with Victoria as well
very crispy—it def looks better on a mac retina screen!
Looks good the new avatar.
Create the avatars as vector graphics and export them to the desired scale without quality los.
Yes! Good idea - Victoria could export the AI files (i'm assuming that's how she's making these) as SVG vector files that most modern browsers can handle natively. Could project the game on the side of a building and it would remain looking clean and crispy!
I just noticed how thin the arms are due to the HD images bigger size. Now I can't help but notice whenever I look at the smaller image too.
When we do the avatar upgrade, it might give us a chance for Victoria to adjust the arm proportions. I'll discuss it with her, thanks dm
Feels like someone turned on the Anti-Aliasing :D
Nice !
Looks great!
Yeah from a glance that does look much better
