I know this might be a dumb thought, but what if this is the reason Isla is a ghost? I mean think about it, Ghost are often depicted as having some unfinished business or something. So what if, because of some weird paranormal shenanigans, this guy and Isla have a falling out of some sort or something happens to Isla, they never get together and/or Isla dies somehow before that could happen and becomes a ghost because of this unfulfilled love for him. Maybe that is the reason she chose to appear Luca? Since they look so similar, that might have reminded her of him. Or perhaps Im thinking way too much into this "ghost does some funky stuff and makes everyone trans" comic
I believe you might be right but I feel it’s probably something a romantic love for one another at least Isla did as it may seem. She was the girl Nextdoor and I think that makes it interesting. However I feel she will eventually be possessed and something sinister may come of that which leads to tragedy as I see this story playing out, though it’s hard to tell.
