WIP #94

Hey everyone!

I'm here with the next work in progress! As you can see I progressed with the front door and I added some extra architectural elements like the spandrel, a new column and a decorative gable and the siding.

I'm gonna make a few variations of the front door, like a for taller wall height, and less wider options. Now I'm planning to finish all the other windows I showed earlier and I'll see if I have time for more things. But I have a bunch of tasks with the spandrels and columns, since they have a lot of mesh variations for all the use cases in the game such as curved walls.

When I was researching Victorian architecture, I decided to go with a more decorative style, like the ones commonly seen in the US. However, I’m really tempted to add some elements from the UK Victorian style as well. It’s a bit different, but the base features, like the windows and front door would still work with that style too. When I come back after my small trip I think I'll continue with that route if you're interested in it. I'm thinking about brick walls, simple stone columns etc.

I'm feeling this set is finally coming together. I was afraid for a little while it'll look lame but once I added the small details, I think it pulls it together and it's finally starting to look like what I was imagining.

Thank you so much! Hopefully in the next few months I can fit in a Sunwoven part as well and we can continue expand it with more rooms.

Very excited for a victorian set! It's one of my favorite architecture styles :) I can't remember if you're planning on an interior set too, but if you are - could you please consider doing a full set of kerosene lamps with those white shades? Something along the lines of this: https://www.brandonthatchers.co.uk/uploads/items/c04d2aeb82a3b653/2f04f5fc1eeae531.jpg?size=7&date=1584541879 Just a suggestion!

Yaay, I'm so glad that many of you are excited about this, it makes me even more excited. :D I will do interior, though I don't want it to be too traditional and purely Victorian because my plan is to make this a family home with lived-in details. A few old pieces that were left by the owner some newer furniture. But I can include a lamp like these, I like the look of them!

I love the idea of UK Vic style. I always build the houses I see here in Australia, and the UK specific details will go suuuuch a long way in recreating so much of Sydney and Melbourne's architecture! P.S. you should for sure look into Australian Victorian architecture. Specifically some of the terrace houses in Sydney. Victoria (the state) also has some incredible gold-rush era Victorian public and commercial buildings that you would love!

That's so interesting, I haven't checked out the Australian Victorian style but thanks to your comment I googled it and it's so interesting to see how similar yet how different it is from the US and UK stlye I researched. Now I feel the need to include some really detailed metal spandrels in the next part. :D

I adore this so much. We still don't have too many good spandrels, pillars, etc, so I'm super happy about the addition. Are you also gonna add a fence and rooftrim? Also I hope you'll enjoy your trip

VALIA · April 25, 2026

Thank you! I really want to add as many build items as I can, if not in this set I just put them into the next part. I want this collection to be really detailed because I think Victorian houses look really good because of the details so I want to focus on those things.

OMG that decorative roof thingy is so cute!! You know what I just saw the new Practical Magic 2 trailer and got inspired to build the gorgeous house in it, and this set will be just perfect for it. And yes please to the UK Victorian elements, too 🙌🙌

V
VALIA · April 25, 2026

I've just seen it too and I love the house so much! It might be a big inspiration for the interior!

This looks so amazing already, super excited to see what you‘ll add! I‘d personally love a few UK details! And I think a roof trim in a similar style of the gable would be beautiful (I have no idea how hard those are to make though) Your CC is hands down my absolute favourite, it is so so cute and adds so much personality🩷 Seeing what you‘re working on is my fav notification to get, it’s like Christmas excitement🤭

V
VALIA · April 25, 2026

Thank you so much! I haven't made roof trims yet so I have to figure out but I don't think they're more difficult than a column which has a lot of mesh variations. If not for this set I'll add it to the next but I agree it would look nice and we don't have enough roof trims in the game. It means so much that you like my posts, I love sharing my progress because I can feel more connected with all of you and your comments also can shape the direction I'm going.
