WIP#78
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the lack of updates but I am really busy these days I can progress slower than usual. But I'm here to show you the microwave and a half finished fridge. These are made in the same style as the stove I showed you before.
It's so funny to work hours on the inside of the fridge and you'll see it only for a couple of seconds when someone opens it. :D But I picked items to put in the fridge that I usually have in mine. With textures they'll look better, I promise.
Next up I'm moving onto the coffee maker with the same style also.
In the meantime, I updated the Sunwoven kitchen set because while doing the fridge I realized that for some reason I made the fridge nooks a little smaller than they should have been and the fridges were clipping a little. I used the in-game fridges for reference but later in the process I might have edited the models without realizing the size difference. It's not much but it bothered me so I updated them. Also updated the counters because I moved the embedded appliance slot they have, so the slotted ovens, dishwashers don't stick out.

This is my first time saying anything on Patreon, and I just wanna say, your creations are AMAZING! I'm learning how to create CC myself, and was wondering what resources and textures you use to make your CC. I love how clean and smooth you make the counter cabinets, and want to know what textures you use to give off that matte clean look. (If it is matte, apologize if it's not😅)
Thank you so much! First of all I have to tell you these images are from Blender so they don't look exactly like this in game but almost. I don't know if you do it yet but you definitely should bake your high poly models onto the low poly ones. You can search more info how to do this, you can use Blender or Substance Painter. This step makes sure that your object has shadows baked onto its texture, this is the Ambient Occlusion map. Other important map to bake is a Curvature map which gives the highlights. With these you can put together your base texture and add wood texture or any other texture you'd like to add. For the "matte" items, painted furniture I usually add some "smudges" so it's not completely flat. For wood or any other texture I usually search for references from real life and try to draw something similar in Photoshop. I don't use life-like textures. I like to add some handdrawn details too, for example scratches, edge details, discolorations to make an item more lively. Let me know if you'd like to know more.
Never knew why EA made the inside of the fridges so boring. Real improvement!
Actually the fridge from the kitchen clutter set (I think) has some really funny details inside. :D I looked into it and I was surprised.
It´s so pretty!
Thank you!
I love this! 😍💕
Thank you!
That fridge is perfect!
Thank you! <3 It still needs some texture work but it's coming along.
Love it! Looks like how a fridge is normally packed so I appreciate the detail!
Thank you! I took inspiration from my own life and added things I usually buy (of course a little less to avoid too many polygons)
