WIP#73
Hey everyone!
I've made a huge progress since we last spoke. I'm finished with the textures of the counters! As I said earlier, I made two variations one is with the wood front and one in the same style just with rattan doors. I couldn't decide what should I go for because at first I only wanted rattan cabinets and wood counters to avoid them looking too busy but this ways it can be mix and matched. I made every part different so the wood left end piece for example has the shelves with books, while the rattan version has doors. I also made an accent counter with drawers.
Now, let me tell you, I had quite a long time spent on the countertops. I wanted two styles, a butcher block, wooden one and small tiles. For the latter I wanted to make backsplash with the same texture. This was what I started with and I ended up doing the tiles' texture twice because I realized I really wanted this checkered texture included but hadn't thought about it earlier when I made the models with an uneven number of tiles and the pattern wouldn't add up. :D So I redid not only that but the backsplash too but I'm so happy because I like the look of it! I'm in my checkered pattern era. :D I have so many images saved featuring this pattern. Don't worry this tiles will come in simpler swatches as well.
At this point I couldn't contain myself and made another style for the tiles. This was my original idea so I didn't want to leave it out. I plan to make a wallpaper version of these backsplashes but those are at the end of my list, I want to finish the furniture first.
I attached a moodboard for you to see what inspired me. I thought you'd find it interesting. Hope you like it so far! I'm really taking my time with this one and trying to enjoy every step. I usually get frustrated with kitchen furniture because there are so many pieces and to make the texture seamless everywhere is a pain in the butt. But I'm trying to make new and visually interesting textures and I really like the process! I'm gonna be away for a couple of days so the next post may come a little later. Hope you have a nice day/night and thank you for reading this long ass post.

Off topic, but I'm always recoloring things, & just opened one of your files and ohmygod this is the most beautiful, clean, easy to edit texture file I've ever seen! Like... I dunno if they are all like this, but wow! Working with Naturali Flower Bouquet (needed a soft blue vase)! You are hands down my favorite buy/build creator, I promote you to everyone literally, and now I'm in love with how clean your workspace is!
Wow, you're so nice, thank you so much! I'm trying to do my UV maps clean, it is easier to do the base texture. For more complex object it's a little time consuming and maybe they are a little more complicated looking but it helps so much in the texturing phase.
I loveee tiles top on counters, and the colors look so good, i’m obsessed! Thank you SO much for your amazing work
Thank you! I can't wait to make more swatches. I have so many colors I want to add.
totally excited!!!
I'm so in love with the tiled countertop and matching backsplash. It's not easy to get them lined up correctly for all variations. Amazing work!
Thank you! I did have a "fun" time figuring out the corner pieces and I had to do a color switch in the checkered pattern for them otherwise it wouldn't work. But I wanted this pattern so badly! I redid the whole countertops just for the pattern. 😀
Love it all so far! <3
Thank you!
