Health update

Here's my lated post on Facebook regarding my health...

UPDATE: Saw my hematologist/oncologist today. He said that all of my bloodwork is looking good with everything headed in the right direction. That includes my billyruben. Which means I might be able to have this tube/bag removed from my gallbladder soon. That would be really nice. It's a constant source of discomfort/pain — depending on how I move. Grrrrr.

He also said that we're looking at a bone marrow transplant sooner rather than later because of the bloodwork. That would be amazing!!!

I'm still incredibly weak and tired all the time. I made myself some eggs for breakfast this morning and by the end of breakfast, I needed a nap.  Doing anything is exhausting. I also experience fairly frequent stomach pain. But it's not horrible. Mostly annoying and inconvenient.

I still can't do much but lay on the couch or bed. But I need to get a couple videos up this month since disability isn't gonna cover me. Don't know how I'm gonna do that. But I definitely will (try?)... hopefully. I've been hemorrhaging money for the last three months. D'oh!!! Praying for the power of Hitch to energize me!

Speaking of money... I got the bill from my hospital stay. Nearly $600,000 dollars. Insurance covered $500k, and sent me a bill for $976.00 dollars with $93,000+ pending. I don't know what that means. Anyone have an idea?

Thanks again for your continued support, interest, and feedback. It really brightens my day to read your wonderful/kind/insightful comments. B

I have had every medical procedure done over the past ten years accepting whatever Medicare paid as full payment (often way less than what was billed) so don't pay that inflated bill until you have seen how things fall out. (The $976 may be a co-pay and you may be stuck with that.)

So sad to hear what you're enduring. I agree with the others re. insurance: anything 'pending' is still processing and not a bill. Understandably unnerving, but fingers crossed. Hope springs eternal, so hang in there, we're thinking of you! [My "subscription" is already on a monthly basis and continues regardless of # videos. Focus on your health. You have such a treasure trove of past videos, I can watch those for months and not get bored!]

Glad to hear things are improving. Don't sweat the money for now, you have one job, heal and recover. The rest will get sorted out later. It's a shame faith healing doesn't actually work, it sure would come in handy.

Beautiful BriBri! Thank you for the update! The only 2 people I've known who got bone marrow transplants, were totally changed, as far as 'energy'! As in improved. I hope for the best, for you, of course. 👍🩵💝💙💖🩵🥰✌️

Oh, just saw the suggestion to go monthly. also a good idea.

Put up a couple of very short videos of your physiognomy for us to enjoy and we'll count them as monthly offerings.

Have you thought of maybe making a "greatest hits" type or compilation video? Maybe it wouldn't be as taxing on you to do.

Crikey on the bill! Focus on your health please, Brian.

Gawd, we're an uncivilized country. Why in the name of Mr. Deity we don't emulate ALL other major nations on earth and implement universal healthcare is beyond comprehension. Shame on this country!

Another Patreon creator told us that all of Patreon is moving to a 'monthly' billing; no more "per each" as you've been doing. Check to see if I'm delusional...

Great news about your bloodwork. Hang in there. ❤️

Hang in there Brian! It will get better! You have made my life much richer with your videos!

Ask for itemized bills, question anything that doesn't look right and negotiate. You'd be amazed how flexible they can be.

C
Craig Walker · October 22, 2026

Pete’s right Brian! So sorry you're going through this, Brian. "Pending" usually just means insurance is still processing that $93K, not that you owe it. The $976 is likely your share so far. Don't pay anything big yet. Wait for your insurer's "Explanation of Benefits," and ask what your out-of-pocket max is. Ask the hospital for an itemized bill too, since mistakes are common. Also apply for their financial assistance (charity care). Dollar For (dollarfor.org) helps with that for free. Then ask for a no-interest payment plan on whatever's left. Wishing you a strong recovery! 🙏

What that means is that we need universal healthcare with single payer, i.e. Medicare for all. Hang in there, stay strong (speaking as a lymphoma survivor). Thank Hitch.

Absolutely!!!

By the way the picture is of my wife who died 5 days before that Bill Craig resurrection piece.

That's so sad!

Larry Weiner · October 22, 2026

Are you on Medicare and a second insurance? It might have something to do with that.

B
Brian Keith Dalton · October 22, 2026

No. Not quite old enough. Soon.

Thanks for the update, Brian. I don't have any information for you, so this message is pretty much useless, with perhaps the tiniest, wee grain of an exception being that it lets you know someone is listening and wants to help. I wish I had more for you.

Brian Keith Dalton · October 22, 2026

That absolutely helps! I really appreciate it.
