In part II, John tries to emotionally soothe us by telling us that God became man and experienced the suffering with us. Which makes things even worse. John also tells us that we'll be compensated for all the suffering... without ever telling us exactly how. #trustmebro Woohoo!!!

Pie in the sky! No, thank you. I’ll take the crumbs of cake I can make on this planet and try to make this life a little bit better for myself and anyone else who could use a bit of cake today and leave the pie in the sky for those who want the reward of precious stones and streets of gold (I’m not sure of what possible use any of that stuff will serve anyone in the hereafter. But, that’s just me. I guess there’s greed in heaven, too)
