WOTM: Vicious Evil Is Unneccessary

As you may know, I don't believe we have anything approximating free will. But free will is the catch all defense for Christian excusegists when discussing the problem of suffering (formerly the problem of evil). I've pointed out many weaknesses with the free will defense, but I don't know that I've made a video about the fact that God never needed to allow vicious evil, where we can brutally harm each other.

Thanks again, gang! You're doing so much great work here — if I do say so myself. 😘😂 I love you all beyond words. Enjoy!!! B

"My poor Krell. My poor Krell. After a million years of sanity" ...Dr Morbius "Forbidden Planet" (watch the movie and you'll see what I mean) ;-)

“to see who will freely choose a relationship with God” Fundamentalist Christianity gets love backwards. The burden isn’t ours to decide whether to believe in/worship God, it’s God’s to decide to be love-worthy. If it’s important for us to have a relationship with God, then it’s God’s move.

I’d like to hear excusegists explain the “free will” of evil acts that don’t even involve human actions. How to explain and justify the tsunamis, earthquakes, wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, heat waves that kill thousands upon thousands of people, that cause horrendous, agonizing, panicking deaths? Mr. Deity is incapable of intervening in such instances? Then they really are an… “Act of Gawd."

Btw, is your choice of “Lazy Eye Productions, a reference to “Discworld”?

It's the fundamental logic that make-believers just can't escape: Can we surprise god with our choices? If we can, he's not omniscient. If not, there's zero reason for him to let us be evil to the people he claims to love, because he already knows we're wicked and what we're going to do. Allowing us to go through with our wicked acts entails that he chose to make us wicked, and knowing our character, and what we would do, chose to let us to be wicked to others. But that's good, right? Because everything god does is good.
