WOTMQ: God Is Fallen
This is one of my recent favorites. I'm so sick of the "fallen world, wicked sinners" bullshit you hear coming from both everyday Christians and their excusegists. Especially when the fallenness, evil, sin, and suffering were clearly all part of God's plan. I think you're gonna love this one! And we all have to start using this humanist apologetic when Christians try to get God off the hook merely by asserting nonsense.
Thanks so much, gang — for all your continued support. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. Here's some good news... I have a new Mr. Deity coming next month, once again featuring Larry. Mr. Deity and the Gaps. I'll post it here as soon as we get it shot and edited. Have a great April, and I'll see you again real soon. Enjoy! B

Don't be so hard on the god, it's only a puppet helplessly carrying out whatever is on the immutable list of instructions revealed by the omniscient knowledge of its own actions!
Great as always! Two items of interest perhaps. Your fellow YouTuber Hemant Mehta has coined a new term to add to your lexicon - scamvangelists, pastors who ask for tithes to buy another jet! Also a pretty new book, 2024, called Where Christianity Errs by Richard Schoenig. He delves onto the original sin idea in the entire first chapter. Thanks again for your work!!
Bravo!
Thanks for telling it like it is! Home run!
Whoa, that King David always seemed to get others to pay for his sins. When Yahweh got pissy about David taking a census that Yahweh forbade (Did he; did he really?), Yahweh killed 70,000 of David's soldiers which made David, like, really sad. (Not to mention the families of all those soldiers.)
Hold on here. You mean the God who killed every person on the planet (except Noah and fam) who drowned all the children the woman and the handicapped is not good?? So just because he let his own Son die in pain and torture because he couldn't forgive us without blood is bad?? So, your saying even though God is all powerful and does do anything overtly and measurably to aid us is not loving?? Well, if you're saying that then... Okay.
LOL! 😂
While watching this video I could not help thinking about an obscure flavor of Manichaeism in which they believed that the Old Testament God was a false one and that the Jesus one was the son of some *real* God who only made him/her/itself known through Jesus. It was, of course, bloody awful nonsense. But it was a somewhat less toxic bloody awful nonsense than what we have to deal with now.
Bullseye, Bri'! 🎯 Reminds me of Dave Allen's take on the Garden of Eden: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZtAtUlUfNU
