Q&A post - Answers
Hi everyone,
So, I found some time this week to answer some of your questions. So let's not waste time and start.
Q: Sonata asked: Did you ever consider adding sex sounds/moans or is that something you're not confident in implementing in your game? There are some positive examples next to those that are freaking bad.
A: I can understand the attraction of moaning if it's not generic. If a real voice actor does that. But for that, you need a long-ass animation, and it'll be worth the voice actor's price. For my animations, I don't think it will fit that well. I'd rather not add generic moaning at this stage. I played the last chapter of BaDIK and heard the sex sounds; I can't say they were needed at all. That said, I am not against it. I just don't think this is the right place to spend the money and energy on at this stage.
Q: Sonata asked: Will Daz3D always be your first choice, or do you consider learning new stuff with Blender?
A: I have always wanted to learn how to use Blender. I told myself that when I have time, I'll work with Blender. But I don't think learning Blender now will benefit me or the game. It will slow me down more, and it will take time to reach the level I am at in Daz if I make the switch to Blender. I want to learn Blender mainly for sculpting. To create custom morphs that I can use in Daz or create custom props. Someday I will, but only after I release Book 1 on Steam. A bit about lighting: I think that Daz interprets light better than Blender. It has a very accurate interpretation of light, thanks to years of NVIDIA perfecting it. So for that reason, I probably stay with Daz as my main tool for rendering and use Blender for sculpting and probably for Animations. Blender does a lot of things better than Daz, and it's optimized. But for my use, Daz is enough for now.
Q: Sonata asked: Do you sometimes struggle while writing cause you wanna make everyone "happy" when it comes to specific LIs, or do you maintain the confidence to write with a free mind?
A: Yes, I do struggle with writing while trying to make everybody happy, but to tell you the truth, the deeper I go into this, the more I want to stay true to myself. My AVN is different, and I don't think I need to attract an audience that doesn't fit. So over time, I'll probably stay truer to myself, and it will be easier for me to write. I also need to make Steam people happy, so they will accept the game. So most of my thinking when I write goes there. I want my game to reach a big audience, but I know it's different from what people are used to. And I am not going to change because people want what they already know.
Q: Sonata asked: What is your biggest struggle overall while being a Dev of your very first AVN?
A: When I started this, the greatest struggle was dealing with people who hate it, having something to say, trolling, and being mean when you put your heart into the public. Now I mostly ignore it. Now it has changed: the thing I struggle with most is time management. I don't have enough time to work on my game and get faster results. I have very limited time to work on it, and if I put most of my effort into it, and I put a lot of effort into it, I am an artist; it's super important to me that the game looks the best it can, and it's coming at the price of productivity. Also, if I work on it forever, I'll lose time with my family, which is very important to me.
Q: Sonata asked: Did you ever encounter "weird" problems with your family regarding your passion as a dev for an adult game or did it never matter?
A: My wife knows very well what I am doing. 3.5 years ago, I had a breakdown at work. I was broken by how my manager treated me. I was unwell because of her. She pushed me over the edge to try and make my own thing, so I won't have to deal with someone like her for the rest of my life. My wife is very supportive of what I'm doing and has also played the game with me several times. She also had her criticisms about the content sometimes, but it's ok :) My wife is very open-minded and supportive. Regarding my mother and siblings? They don't really care about my doing. So we don't really talk about it. So no problem there.
Q: Sonata asked: No more questions. Just a huge compliment for you being one of the most humble and transparent devs out there. I always enjoy your posts and have a lot of faith in your project! Thanks for being such an active part of the AVN community as a dev!
A: I know it's not a question. I just wanted to thank you, Sonata, for your kind words, for seeing me for who I really am, and for your support. You know there will be more Giovanna scenes in the future. I already have them written.
Q: Jupiter asked: Will there be more books released in the future? If so, will they be offered as DLC or just as updates?
A: The reason I went for books in the first place was that Steam blocked new adult game devs from releasing them in early access. But it also feels right to do it like that. I am planning 2 more books for now. I am still not sure how they'll be released. We'll have to wait and see.
Q: Jupiter asked: How long do updates typically take to complete?
A: It takes around 9-10 months to release an update. I have to say I made some mistakes along the way. It's my first time creating a game. The biggest mistake is the translations. I should have kept them for the latest phase of development. I removed a lot of them and decided to use only human translators. But it takes me a lot of time to implement it, and the translators time to translate the game.
Q: Jupiter asked: Do you often take long breaks between updates?
A: I take 1-2 week breaks between starting to work on a new update. I need to refill the tank. Do other things. A release is always stressful. But not more than that.
Q: Jupiter asked: Are you working on this project alone, or do you have assistance?
A: I am working alone on most of the project. I write the script and dialogue; I do the renders; I post-edit them; I do the animations; I code and build the project, and I also advertise it as much as I can. So, yeah, I am a sole developer. And I love it. But I do have assistance with proofreading and testing the game from my Discord crew (Catty, Nastice, Brainriddle, and TrixeB). It helps a lot, and I am thankful for them. Also, my Discord admin, Benson, created a custom bot for the server and takes great care of it.
Q: Jupiter asked: Will you stick to your established style when creating the characters, or will you implement new techniques, such as changing their appearances?
A: If you look at the first part of the game, it looks different from the later parts, so my style was changed a bit. I am open to trying new techniques that look amazing when used right. I don't want to change my characters' appearance. When you see a character, the first thing is your attraction to it and the connection to it; changing their appearance will break that, and it's bad. So I won't change their appearance; I might enhance it where I can.
Q: darlic asked: Have you found new unplanned ideas/story plot/fetishes that you want to add to the game that you didn't think of at the very beginning?
A: I have most of the main plot ready in my mind and the whole first book written already. But I do write the dialouge when I get to the scene I want to create. I write it, and when I start to render it, I sometimes improvise because it fits the scene very well. I want the dialouge to feel as close to reality as it can. I try not to write a lot when it's not needed, so people can understand what is going on just by looking at the renders. Sometimes ideas just pop into my head, and I make them happen. This is real creativity; creativity sneaks up on you, and you need to catch it and not let it slip. Regarding fetishes, I know what I want to do. I also know that some people don't like certain things and play the game only for the LEWDs. So I try to be as versatile as I can for everybody, but sometimes it's too much to handle, and I prefer to stick to my original plan. But I am open-minded, and as the game progresses, I think more fetishes will be added.
Q: Jupiter asked: What made you decide to structure the AVN as books instead of traditional chapters, and what advantages does that give you creatively?
A: Two reasons:
My first intention was to release chapters, but the chapter got really big because I haven't managed to tell everything I wanted that was important to the plot, so it felt strange to release it as a chapter, so it became a book. I didn't take into consideration that the LEWDs would affect the length so much. I didn't want to give people the same generic animations and LEWDs you see on every other AVN. I wanted a flow, and I wanted it to be long and memorable. And it's not an easy thing to think of and execute at the level I am aiming for.
Steam no longer allows adult game devs to release in early access, so if I want to release something on Steam in a reasonable time, I need to break it into books.
Q: Jupiter asked: Once a book is released, do you consider it finished, or will you continue adding additional scenes/content to it?
A: It will be finished. I might add avoidance paths for people who don't want to experience certain things. And I will probably add more translations. Other than that, I won't work on it and will move on to the new book.
Q: Jupiter asked: Do you plan on releasing smaller updates during development, or only releasing a book once it is completely finished?
A: For book 1, the answer is probably no cause we are at the end of the book development. But for book 2, I might. Smaller updates, faster updates. It will only do good for my fanbase.
Q: Jupiter asked: How large do you expect each book to be compared with the previous one in terms of playtime/content?
A: I don't have the best answer for that. What I can say is that as the plot thickens and we progress, you also need to maintain the routes. So I think the next book will naturally be bigger than this one. Book 1 is currently sitting at ~7600 renders, and it's not the end of it.
Q: Jupiter asked: Will there be consequences for pursuing multiple characters at the same time?
A: Good question. This game is not a harem game; it has routes, but I didn't say you won't be able to pursue more than one character till the end. I wrote in the About section of Patreon that the player can pursue multiple characters they like until they settle down, and they should definitely do that because it can sometimes lead to the special relationships they want. Also, keep in mind that they have feelings; some are more emotional than others. They need to make decisions at some point. I can't tell more than that. It's spoilers. One thing I don't like to talk about is things that aren't currently in the game and that raise people's hopes, since it will unfold over time.
Q: Jupiter asked: Will relationships develop slowly over several books, or will most romance arcs be contained within a single book?
A: Relationships will be built over several books. I can say that book 2 will have a lot in terms of relationships and more progressed LEWDs. Book 1 is mostly about getting to know the game's characters and talking to them a little while progressing the plot to a certain point.
Q: Jupiter asked: Do you already have the entire story planned out, including how many books you want to make?
A: About 3 books. I have the plot in mind, and I know where it starts, the key events, and how it ends. But I write the dialouge as I get to the scene.
Q: Jupiter asked: Will choices made in earlier books carry over and affect later books?
A: Yes, but I will allow certain paths to return if you rejected them. Cause sometime people make mistakes and want to correct them.
Q: Pick asked: Do a sellout™ and tell us what game inspired you to develop a game in this genre, erotic and XXX. You know, some people make a Cookie Clicker, others a troll game where the trees try to kill you, but you create gorgeous models with little or no clothing who try to suck the dick (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿).
A: I used to play Japanese 2D games with a TON of dialouge before you get to a little intimate scene. Those were the first AVNs I played. I also played the legendary Leisure Suit Larry and loved it. But the first real 3D AVN I stumbled upon was the BaDik on Steam. It looked like something I would like, so I gave it a go. And I loved it. I played it when DPC had only created 4 chapters. It was the first 3D realistic renders I ever saw, and the animations made the characters feel alive. After a while, I found Leap of Faith, and it is one of my favorite AVNs to this day. Amazing job by Drifty. Soon after, I learned about others. Become a Rockstar by Mr.Jet, SOD by Fooxied, Where it all began by Ocean (The OG one and the remake; I am not a fan of Summer's gone; Respect to Ocean; he is an amazing artist who definitely was an inspiration in terms of visuals), Desert Stalker by Zetan, Long story short by TTrick Games, Office perks by Anonymous Games, Origin Story by JDOR, and many more. Those games inspired me in different ways to create my own, do it my way, and do it differently than others.
And BTW, the women try and succeed in sucking dick (more sucking in the future).
Q: Pick asked: Did you ever consider giving up after the first failed launch that you told us about? You must have found strength somewhere at that moment. Are you glad you didn't give up back then?
A: I am a software developer. I worked in one of the biggest companies in the world. If something is not working, you come back to it and fix it. I also don't know how to quit. So I won't quit; I finish the job. I won't give up, even if it takes longer than I originally planned. Even if people get angry at me for all kinds of reasons. I keep on going until TPOT is out there for the world.
Q: Jonathan Hang asked: When will JD's characters make it into your game? I can easily see Anna in TPOT.
A: JD and I are friends, and I love OS. Can't tell you more than that...
Q: Jonathan Hang asked: And will Kim make an official cameo in OS? (in person, not by mention... like AmomG's Jenny, Flip's Summer, or FireValleyGames's Emily)
A: That's a question for JDOR :)
Q: JDOR asked: Why won't you give me only Dr. Kimberley content?
A: Cause you don't give me Parker-only content 😛
Q: 大铁棍子医院捅主任 asked: When will you release it on Steam?
A: I am trying to aim for the end of the year. Life is very dynamic for me lately. Every minute I have for myself, I choose to work on the game. Bear with me. I can't give a date yet cause I don't want to postpone it if I need to.
Q: Brainriddle asked: We all know you put a lot of work into your environment and the character appearance. How big is your DAZ library?
A: Pretty big; I'd say around 3000 total products. I am sure there are people with bigger libraries. I tend to buy things when I need them or when they're on sale.
Q: Brainriddle asked: How far ahead is your main storyline in planning the story? Not written out, just what you have laid out in mind.
A: Already answered most of your question. Book 1 is around 25-30% of the story. But Book 2 will be a bit different.
Q: Brainriddle asked: What happened to Kimberly's toy? We can take it (pervert!), but there are no different outcomes, scenes, or dialogue.
A: You have to find out for yourself :)
Q: Brainriddle asked: Will we meet Eva's mom too?
A: Eva's mom? 😕Too? Do you mean Maria?
Q: Brainriddle asked: What is more fun for you, posing for renders or planning for animations?
A: I am an artist in my soul, so renders, art. Expressing myself with renders and hotties. Static renders are my favorite thing to do.
Q: Brainriddle asked: What was your first AVN, or how did you get into this space?
A: If you are not considering all the 2D Japanese ones (not a lot I played), I'll say BaDik.
Q: Brainriddle asked: Would you still love me if I were a worm?
A: Always, my love! I am offended you even asked me that.
Q: Brainriddle asked: Are there characters you developed or planned that aren't introduced yet? How many digits?
A: No more characters for book 1. I assume that book 2 will probably have a few new ones.
Q: Brainriddle asked: Sony, Canon or Nikon?
A: Canon
Q: Brainriddle asked: When update?
A:
Q: Godsaladass asked: will you create a new character in the game? and can i request a scene or not if your willing in the future updates like a photoshoot with lauren in the beach or even do a exhibitionism on her like walking around naked in the alley and do a photoshoot
A: I don't usually take requests cause I plan ahead. But I am willing to hear about anyone's ideas.
Q: 鐵拳 asked: Wondering how you pick characters' appearance; is it handmade? Or using a default model? (Girls are hot btw😚)
A: I don't use the default model at all. I am aiming for a specific look. Most of my girls are characters you can find in the market, but most of them are heavily edited and changed to the appearance I want. Some have custom skin you won't find anywhere, and some are mixed and customized so they can't be copied and are unique. Other than that, I am trying to select the best-looking characters with the best skin textures.
Thanks to everyone who asked questions and wanted to learn more about the game.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

thanks for your time!
* Sonata and Jupiter hogged all the questions, leaving little for the other kids 😏🎈. * You say that you have set each character's appearance in stone. However, when the flashback section is played through, the MC looks quite different. With that hairstyle, he didn't look as unhinged as he does now 🤣. * We also found out that DogCat managed to escape his manager's hardcore femdom antics just in time 😎. * BaDIK was almost my first AVN too. That was back when I used to pirate a lot of games from GOG (I don't anymore). Acting Lessons was sitting right next to BaDIK (which had just finished Season 2), and in the end I decided to download Acting Lessons more as a joke than anything else. By the end, the moral of the story had me crying from my eyes instead of my penis 😢😿. * Since you mentioned JDOR, I spotted an ad for his game on the MC's laptop screen during a flashback scene. There are hidden cats in this game, so I thought there might be an unlockable render (you know how JDOR has a character named Cat, a girl who clones herself). Turns out there was nothing 😅🫠. * My third unanswered question was answered as I played on. It turns out that the MC does teach maths, so the whiteboard actually makes sense. I've seen the same whiteboard with complex formulas in other games, like in restaurants or other settings where they made absolutely no sense, but here it's placed perfectly.
You are very observant, Pick.
Well done! What I found most interesting is while the artistic side is what drives you, the titles with the most direct impact on your work are the best written 😉. Heaven's Door might also intrigue you; I see your favs in my own mirror LOL.
Thanks so much!!
Regarding the fans happiness I think it's good if u stay true to urself cause there'll always be people who don't like sth. And I like the planned options to return to a possible return to a LI if u messed up somewhere 😁
That was great, thank you for taking the time to answer everything!
Damn... I took too long. I didn't write down my other questions 🤣. Oh, well, at least I'll have them for the next one 😅. NICE, Darth Cat!!!! Thanks for answering my questions. And thank you to everyone who submitted their questions 👍🏻! We also got to learn more about you and about the game. This was a very fun, informative, insightful, and great read. It was fun picking your mind 😉. I can wait for more Q&A (AMA) in the future 😁! And I'll try not to be lazy and submit my questions 😅.
