Please review TPOT on GSL
Hi everyone.
I am going to vent a little bit. I don't usually do that, but I just can't hold it this time.
This one is a bit hard for me now. I know the game is not the vibe for everyone, but people rating it 1/2.5 stars and downvoting me without giving any reasonable explanation seems very unfair to me. I already spoke to Ragnar and told him he should require users who leave a low review to submit a written review explaining what they didn't like, but it seems this feature was never implemented. I used to have a much higher score on GSL. Now I feel under attack on that site. I have a solid rating on many sites, but on GSL, it seems most people didn't even play the game before reviewing it, or played very little and decided on a negative verdict very soon.
With all due respect. I played a lot of other AVNs, and I respect every developer out there. All of them are putting a lot of effort into creating their game, and I am not comparing myself to others, but I have played my fair share of AVNs before I was a dev, and I continue to play them these days when I can, so I am familiar with the market. This rating is unfair in many ways. I don't like to speak of myself, but here I just can't hold it. I put so much effort into the game's audio; I choose it carefully. I put tons of effort into my LEWD content. Also, the animations are long and high-quality. I won't talk about the story, although this is very low in my eyes. I know I haven't told much, but still. And if I can talk about something, it's the visuals. It should be much higher. I know my worth. That's all I am going to say right now.
The one thing that I know is that even if people try to hurt my motivation, I know my worth, and I know the game's worth. I won't let anyone make me feel bad about my work. People can definitely criticize it, but this doesn't feel like that. Cause I know the game's worth. I know I have supporters, and I know what I am putting out there. The highest quality game I can bring.

Well, guys, I wasn't to blame this time 🫠. I was tempted to give it only two stars when DC scared us on Discord with a picture of his leg 😱😶🌫️. Then I realized that it was either a joke or something prepared for Halloween that was leaked early 😜. I don't even have an account on that site 😁. Seriously, though, you should tell the main admin to make it mandatory to write a minimum number of characters after voting. Out of the current 98 votes, only 11 are 2.5 stars or less. I consider those votes without comments to be trolls. The only category I could vote on right now (symbolically) is "Visuals", and that's based only on special ones, like Minnie's. If I consider five stars to be the best I've seen, I'd give it a 4.6 or 4.7 rating 💪😜. I don't know how popular that page is, but stay positive, and keep up the good work with your followers. No one is safe from a few one-star votes.
OH, I LOVE IT WHEN MY DEVS VENT! GO OFF, DARTH CAT 🐈! Or it should be where the Users are required to write a certain amount of reviews and play a certain amount of games/hours. And how about if you leave a negative review? You actually have to WRITE something, and it should get reviewed by the GSL crew before being posted later 🤷🏻♂️. Yeah, I don't get people 😅. Why can't we just come together and live in AVN harmony 😇🙏🏻? I mean, I know I don't like certain aspects (like NTR/NTS), but you don't see me going to popular games of "said" genre and doubling down on them. Just a waste of my time and energy 😂. If I play a game I don't like, I'm just going to leave it alone. The most I'm going to do is write to the Dev personally and explain why I dislike it. But then again, with the world for what it is today on the web. This is not too surprising to see. It's much easier to be a hater than to be a decent human being 😅. Plus some just like to troll. I wouldn't worry much about the negative reviews. Now if they make great points and leave constructive criticism, then do 😅. Worry more about those that are supporting TPOT and yourself. As I always say, "F the negativity 👊🏻💥. Some people just want to hate for the sake of hating 😅. What a waste of energy! You could be doing anything else. You know what else goes on while you're hating on me 😅? Life... You're just another passing note on the bigger scale of life 🌬. You don't know me 🙂↔️, we'll probably never meet 😉, and I don't want to waste my time/energy on you or on being negative 😁. Every day is a fresh new day 🙌🏻, and I live it as positively as I can 🌈🌞! Actually, 3.88 wRating is pretty good on GSL. In my opinion it’s a sign of decent quality. No need to worry too much about it. Your game is promising and the rating will gradually improve.

This is such an awful trend. Mine was an honest 4 stars based on the last update I played. I updated all the stars portion to 5 now just to help counter the idiots if nothing else. I will properly update my "written" part later, once I get the chance to play the latest chapter.

Like many have stated I don’t understand review bombing something you have no intention to try to like. Personally for me I really enjoy TPOT. I’m going to resub soon to play the new update and buy on steam when available. I generally don’t support on both Patreon and steam but I will in this case. Currently I have about 3 games that get really hyped for and TPOT is one of them. Keep up the good work

I genuinely think that this is one of the best games in development and very much look forward to seeing it complete. I only have posted reviews on steam but was happy to do so for this one. Hopefully it helps. Also it's really irritating that 1s drop your score so much. I saw mostly positive scores with long well written reasoning behind the high score and mostly unfair criticism in the low scores. Also cool that the good AVN creators support each other.

I feel you about the recent deluge of negative reviews. I've been noticing a bit of a similar trend on reviews for Origin Story... just a lot more negative or mediocre reviews suddenly coming in than I used to get. And often, when they do actually leave a worded review, it's either something that proves they only played about 20 minutes of it, or something that is contradicted by most other reviews. Anyway, try not to let it get to you bro. I personally love your game and think your art is dope. I'm often very jealous of your skills.
Oh, and I meant to say. looking at the other reviews of said negative reviews, I'm noticing a trend of people who only give Daz games a max of 3 stars, and all the HS games are 5 star rated. Its pretty weird.

i don't understand why anyone would leave that bad a rating, without telling you why. personally, if i hate a game that much, i just don't bother saying anything or rating it. my rating wouldn't be worth anything to someone who likes whatever type of game it might be, and it's clearly not my thing, so they aren't likely to convince me to try it again, later. so why bash the game? i think i've left 2 or 3 negative type reviews on gsl, and they've been for something i think the dev does need to take into consideration. like the dev who put a game up on steam and then promptly abandoned it, for another game, with a very similar title. the only positive of that was that they did at least tell people they were dumping the first game. saying they couldn't make enough money off it, when it hadn't actually released on steam, yet, but was available for wishlisting, was pretty ridiculous, though. regardless, the content and context of the game are not reasons to bash it, if they just don't fit your preference. criticism, at that point, isn't going to be constructive, and it's not like you forced them to play the game, somehow. there's no legitimate reason to be rude about it. not like you mistagged it or something.
No, if you accidentally end up playing something that's really bad, you have to be a good Samaritan and quickly write a short review warning people about it 🫠. Thanks to reviews like that, I've been saved from dozens of games on Steam, such as Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing 🤩 and many games with poor FPS optimization or constant crashes.
