On the whole romance debate: It's best to view the crew as a family. People could consider this a spoiler, but I just don't want you guys to waste too much time with shipping talk.
I like Zoro's response to Kuina's defeatist attitude regarding men and women, and I understand Lola's reaction too. But realistically speaking Kuina is right. That's the whole point of having men's and women's sports.
But Kuina didn't say some, or even most, of the other students were likely to surpass her as sword fighters via natural strength and speed advantages due to being male. She said all of them were guaranteed to. And not just that, but that no woman would be able to beat any man. She's not wrong that she's at a disadvantage physically, but I wouldn't say she's being realistic either.
This isn't a spoiler, just extra info from the manga that the live action skipped over. Kuina died by falling down stairs, really driving home the point she was making about her body not being up to the task of worlds strongest swordsmen.
I don't really think it has anything to do with her physical strength, anyone could die from falling down the stairs wrong. Land with too much weight on your neck and you're done. It's happened to wrestlers, not just frail people or women.

Just finished the reaction & discussion. IMO the first 4 episodes are good. But the next 4 episodes are GREAT. You guys are in for a treat.
I agree! The first two were 9/10, the third and fourth were 7/10 but the last four were amazing and progressively get better 101/10
Zoro getting lost is actually a big part of his character in the manga/anime lol, they toned it down a lot in this version. If anything I think they should have done it more bc it’s one of my favorite running gags

That one pirate on Shanks crew only job was to tell the audience that Luffys parents aren't around and he couldn't even make it memorable.

Let them speculate. Live Action has already made a few changes, I wouldn't be surprised if they change the "accident" as well.
You guys are going to love One Piece. Backstories on characters are one of the things Oda (the author) excels at. My favorite backstory is of a 'manly' SIDE character you guys won't see ever (probably).
I liked they put Garp's plot this soon, he and luffy only interact much, much later in the anime. Though he is a bit more serious than he originally is
Fun fact, we didnt learn about the Garp/Luffy relation until like 300+ episodes into the anime 😂
I was actually going to do a "there is no" Megamind joke an hour ago that there is no schedule :D, but then I was googling to quote properly and saw that a Megamind 2 will be coming out and it's unbearable. They massacred my boy! One Piece at least gives me hope for good cinema again.
