It's not quite black and white though. Deida was convinced/manipulated by the mirror that killing Boji would prevent a civil war in the future because as long as his big brother is alive there will be people that believe he was the true successor. So, there was a "logical" reason to do it, as despicable as it was.
In the scene with Daida and Domas I think its implied Daida gave the order. The scene starts with Daida saying he has thought long and hard on something and must do what is best for the kingdom and in the previous episode the mirror said leaving Bojji alive could lead to civil war. Its up for debate but I think Daida deserves less sympathy than Thomas if he gave the order.

This show is ridiculous. I have never been so bad at predicting what is going to happen in the story. I've enjoyed watching along with the girls so far but this show is whack in a good way.
Man I need to get back to watching this. Had a Frieren binge which took this up but caught up so now can get back to it
No shame. I couldn't wait any longer the other day and devoured the Frieren manga. Simply a great story. I'm curious to see if it will still be ahead of Fullmetal Alchemist at #1 on MAL this summer. When the recency bias has passed, most anime will drop in the ranking.

And the puzzling begins. Have fun, it's going to get even more confusing. My theory is that Daida manipulated Domas in his confrontation to give the order to kill Bojji. But yes, like many things, it remains in the unknown. And think back to episode 3: What happened when the king died?
Very interesting that Domas cut off the hand he used to push Bojji with, he's clearly struggling, but he still pushed him so... It's almost impossible to forgive something like that
