At the end you can see Phinks gave his white tunic to Shizuku, the vacuum girl.
one of animes greaest antagonists
Here you dropped this t
actually funnily enough there are few great Troupe / Meteor City chapters in the manga. You should definitely read at least those after you're done with the anime! Starts from ch395
I really think you should skip the ending in episodes 99, 100 and 101! I know you don't mind the foreshadowing in the songs, and I agree with that. Especially here, the show wants you to assume things from the song however, I think it will deter your discussions in these three episodes into a topic that would be a bit too soon to discuss
they dont need to skip the endings lol theyll just watch it as its given to them the way it was intended
Oh don’t worry ur right about Killua being the best brother you can have. You’ll get to see that before the anime ends. Might be a lil spoilery, but who cares.
definitely spoiler why even comment this..? theyll get to it when it comes, no need to confirm or deny anything from the future that will affect their viewing/assumptions if they saw a comment like this
Phinks is just the best, saves Kalluto from the sun attack, gives Shizuku his clothes. Dicks around with Sharlnark and Feitan. He's really the glue for this little branch of the Phantom Troupe.
As much as I like the spider, I can’t forget what they did to my boi Kurapika and his clan. Sure they are cool and have their own code.. btw.. seeing how strong they are, I do wonder if Kurapika is even a match for them lol. I usually don’t like side stories in arcs but this one was pretty good.
can't forget? we don't even know who did what or why there even was an attack on the clan
I think it was sweet that Phinx didn't want to just kill the people who were turned into monsters at the end, he wanted them to go out fighting as people who lived and fought for meteor city. Also, the end with Phinx getting so excited thinking it was Chrollo calling them was so cute, you can tell how much he can't wait to hear from Chrollo again
phinks giving his clothes to shizuku was so sweet i love the troupe dynamic. ready to let each other die in battle because those are the rules but that won't stop them from being nice afterwards <3
It's funny, but the Zoldyck mother (Kikyo) is from Meteor City. They've said before that Meteor City residents are closer than family, so maybe the Phantom Troupe are like really distant family to Kalluto. Like, maybe Kikyo is actually excited that her kid is in the Phantom Troupe. Silva is the one on edge with them and Zeno seems too old to care (he even seemed friendly with Chrollo).
There's also that theory (not a spoiler since its unconfirmed anyway), that Feitan is a Zoldyck. He has a lot of similar features to a Zoldyck (on the mother side)
SPOILER don't read if you didn't watch the rest of the arc. I love seeing them overanalyze the intro its so funny lmaoooo I can't wait for them to get to that part.
Oh man. The things that were discussed in this episode... I can't wait for the reactions and discussions on the rest of this anime.
Still waiting for them to meet Mr. Chimera
Phinks teaching Kalluto about nen, warning him about Feitan's range, and giving his robe to Shizuku were super sweet of him to do.
I was about to post the same thing. The Phantom Troupe aren't good people but they're very likable and look out for each other. I love how this show can humanize (almost) everyone.
The first time I watched this episode I was a child and I didn't understand why Phinks refuses to kill the "cursed ants" for mercy, and at that time I thought he was very cruel for that, but now as an adult I get it. In the japanese culture, dying in battle is a much more honorable way to die than any other. Phinks wanted the cursed ants to die fighting, he wanted to bring them honor and treat them as warriors until the end instead of treating them with mercy and pity. That's why he's my favorite Phantom Troupe member after Chrollo.
togashi as a writer is pretty unique, a lot of his characters are not defined by gender, most anime tend to stick to gender norms
Agreed, he plays with gender a lot and in his writing even in the 90s he was willing to touch on non hetero romance as well. Neferpitou in this arc is a prime example, they're never referred to as she/her. And the next arc, no spoiler, touches on this topic in a much more direct way that is imo moving. Its not as surprising when you consider he's married to the author of Sailor Moon, Naoko Takeuchi, who also was ahead of her time in exploring sexuality and gender.
Here comes our Levi in HxH verse😎
