One Piece was fun and Andor was interesting, but neither of them has the heart that Firefly does. It has excellent writing and a cast that works perfectly together. Plus it's not the same story recycled over and over again.

The number episodes of should factor in these polls. Voting for a show with 8 seasons of episodes is not the same as voting for what is essentially a limited-run miniseries. I’m hoping they watch Andor and then Firefly. But i think Firefly aired so long ago that very few people on this platform have watched it.

Yes, you can. The live-action covers only 40 episodes out of the total 1089 episodes of the anime. I believe the series is intended for people who haven't seen anything of One piece aiming to convince them to watch or read it.

I voted for One Piece simply because in some form or fashion I would love the girls to get introduced to that Anime and the world and characters and I know how impossible it would be to start the actual anime, however I do think they will have fun with any of these choices so I'm not bothered either way.

They will watch Andor eventually. It’s the smartest show to come out of the Star Wars universe. It’s a show for adults exploring adult themes with real-world relevance. Tony Gilroy will become their next favorite show writer, and the performances are first rate.

Live action anime has always failed until One Piece. Definitely voting for One Piece. It’s only 8 episodes anyway so it won’t be that long a watch but it’s definitely worth their reaction. The number one Netflix show of all time and the first live action anime that was successful opening it up now for more live action anime in the future. The writer of the manga was behind this series. The actual anime is one of the longest running anime of all time so fans shouldn’t be angry if they don’t watch the anime first. They wouldn’t finish that one in our lifetime.

I signed up to be a patron just to say an idea, instead of doing just short shows for this slot you could also do all the films from a director like Hayao Miyazaki/Denis Villeneuve/David fincher or a series of films like LOTR/star wars/the before trilogy. I guess it is because this is a poll for live-action series. And as a fan of CSM I just want to hold my recommendation till season 2 comes out since I remember I really got hooked on it in the assassins arc. The charm of CSM hasn't really be shown in season 1 yet.

Just curious: does anyone know why they haven't reacted to a kdrama yet? (Or at least put one Korean show in their poll) I know they have been watching kdramas in their spare time. How many of you support them react to kdramas? The recently released Death's Game is a good choice to start
What shows they've been watching? I had assumed they're simply unfamiliar with it, or thought it's not a good fit for the channel's audience. For the record, I'd love if they do it; besides the obvious international hit like Squid Game, there are a lot of good character-driven shows tackling social issues that I think would appeal to their sensibilities.
I follow a lot of reaction channels, and most of them have watched the Live Action One Piece series. The majority have enjoyed this adaptation, but reactors who went in completely blind (i.e. those who never watched the anime, never read the manga) were almost always bombarded with requests to start the anime. Even if the channels specified up front that they wouldn't start the anime, some of the more desperate and toxic fans refused to accept it. I'm not saying every One Piece fan is crazy (I consider myself a fan), but the loud minority is really hard to deal with. In their minds, continuing to ask will force the reactor to reconsider. I'm hoping that doesn't happen here. I don't think Milena + Lola plan to start the anime, so people should keep that in mind when voting. Maybe things will be different now that the anime remake has been announced, but I wouldn't count on it. It actually makes me think people will hound the reactors even harder. I love the world of One Piece. I've followed this amazing series for 20+ years, beginning with the infamous 4Kids dub. I'm thrilled to see so many people opening their minds to One Piece for the first time. And yet, I'm weary of the drama.

Loved the One Piece live action but might prefer Andor just cause I think the remake will end up being the best way to start One Piece, but some people being so anti One Piece is making me want to vote for it anyway

I think most people have already done that. I for example had voted for Gen V, but as soon as I saw that Gen V didn't stand a chance, I switched to One Piece XD

Andor might be my favorite Star Wars thing ever. Genuinely good show even without the Star Wars label or history. Most other Star Wars Disney+ shows are fun "nerd fanservice" shows, but Andor is just quality.

One Piece live action is really bad if you didn't watch the anime, they'll get a wrong idea. Characters and the plot are a shadow of what they are in the anime and visually it looks cheap, seems like a theatrical work more than a tv show
I've watch reactions from a lot of people for whom the live-action was the first introduction to One Piece and they really love it. Even my parents who never watch any anime liked it.
I haven't voted yet, I don't care about the one piece movie, I don't even care about the one piece anime after episode 500 it's wothless, but I do think that the beggining of the one piece anime ( like the first 500 episodes ) got a couple of decent moments and backstories here and there, that's worthy of a reaction, but after that one piece becomes very boring and childish and uncreative and dragged out
there are many great moments in first 500 episode and everything that happens after timeskip until episode 746 (ending of Dressrosa arc) is a masterpiece. What is it boring, childish and uncreative in Punk Hazard or Dressrosa :o :o ...? 2 of the best arcs in the show
Firefly is fun. Andor is profound. Its fun but it also says a lot about the banality of evil and our ability as humans to persevere.

I don't really get the hype for the one piece live action tbh, it's fine. There's strong elements but overall it's just not nearly as fun or emotional as the anime. Whereas andor is the best star wars thing in like 40 years lol. Can't imagine anyone would be mad either way though, both short shows and with how close it is, I feel like they'll probably do the other right after.

This is not relevant to this pool, but I thought that if they ever will watch a shojo anime, I think it would be fun to see their reactions to a romantic anime, like a sign of affection or I don't know, one of the classics maybe. Even a seinen could be nice, like skip an loufer who I feel they would really enjoy, which is something more relaxed and from everyday life

As long as Gen V fits in at some point before (probably) summer when The Boys S4 comes out I'm not too bothered. Couldn't give less of a shit about anything related to Star Wars but a lot of people whose opinions I respect really love that show so seems like it would be a great choice.

I think Andor and One Piece are so hotly disputed that you should seriously consider watching both, the winner now and the second place after you've finished the winner (I really want to see the reactions to One Piece but I think Andor will win because of 2% of the votes dammit).

Out of these options I like Andor the best. I've watched both Gen V and One Piece, and while they were fun, they are the kind of shows I never think about again after watching. Andor actually has some interesting themes and messaging going on. It would be interesting to see the perspective of someone without much knowledge of the Star Wars universe. So yeah, my vote goes to Andor. Haven't seen Firefly though.

This comes from someone who doesn't like anything else in the Star Wars franchise other than the movie tied to this. The commentary on capitalism, colonialism, empire, and what it means/takes to rebel against your oppressors is so well done here and would make for great discussion. It's honestly astonishing it's on Disney+.

Firefly is an interesting option. 10 or so years ago it could've won the poll but now its cult classic status got a bit rusty plus Whedon's tarnished reputation. And I guess newer younger generation of people at most only heard of it or just simply doesn't care. Even though I still love Firefly to me it's not even close to being Whedon's best work, Buffy (and spin-off Angel) will always be his best accomplishment in my eyes. Would love to see you girls' reactions to Buffyverse one day although it definitely hasn't aged well in some aspects. But I doubt it would ever do good in a poll, I don't think there's much overlap between Buffy fans and your audience (even though it's quite diverse: from shounen anime to the likes of Wire). Oh well, there's enough reactions to Buffyverse on youtube, its fanbase is still alive and well. On the other options, I never cared for Star Wars, I’ve seen 2 seasons of Mandalorian and thought that it’s just okay at best. Andor has quite the praise though, seems like it’s closer to the Rogue One movie which I remember actually liking. Not a bad choice I guess. Maybe I would even watch it alongside you. Still haven’t seen Gen V even though I love the Boys. Didn’t see your reactions to it but if you love Boys as well it’s probably the best and most natural choice on the poll for you. One Piece live-action surprised me, it’s a good show even if you don’t take in an account how bad other anime live-actions were and how difficult it is to make into live-action One Piece specifically, with all its goofiness and whimsical and extremely emotional nature. It’s still not as good as anime and especially manga for me but creators deserve respect for what they managed to accomplish I think. I probably would've been the most excited to watch your reactions to One Piece rather than other options tbh. I humbly recommend Halt and Catch Fire for the next poll. To me, it's on the same quality level as The Bear and Breaking Bad but flies under the radar for some reason. It has an incredible cast (including Mackenzie Davis and Lee Pace) and you can tell the writers really care for each character. 4 Seasons with a complete story arc that wraps up beautifully.

I’m ultimately hoping it’s not another cyberpunk: edgerunners situation where the show is riding on the hype of the main media
I don't think it would be be something similar to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. I was never a big fan of the anime but watched it to some extend before I dropped it. One Piece, compared to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, is not as action-focused and have a great storytelling, focusing more on the characters. The cast of the live-action adaptation did an awesome job as actors. The adaptation received good reception from critics and also from non-anime watchers. Perhaps the best way to describe it is by comparing it to Pirates of the Caribbean. I will be also happy if Andor or Gen V win the poll, I also enjoyed both shows. I haven't watched Firefly yet but I've heard great things about it.
Maybe one of these days The Last Kingdom will get a look. (They loved Vikings that's why I'm mentioning it constantly)

As a HUGE One Piece fan, I'm extremely grateful that you girls are willing to watch the Live Action, it's really great.
One Piece live action and Firefly have strangely a lot in common. They're both about an ensemble of lovable characters in a detailed breathing world, the story ranges from superfun to tragic in a way that makes sense. I think it's too early for them to watch the anime of One Piece: it's a huge commitment that surpasses HxH. Firefly on the other hand can be the gateway drug to Buffy the vampire slayer :D
The Korean show Death's Game with an IMDB rating of 9 was probably just not pushed hard enough, but maybe Lola thought: "I'll just binge it now" if she hasn't seen it yet :D But to be honest: The other shows are probably the most requested. It's good to take one of these.
Who thinks they should watch one piece anime first. I think the anime is way better than the adaptation for so many reasons.
One Pace > One Piece. One Piece is simply stretched to death towards the end. Havent watched Gen V yet but heard good things on it same with Andor. I have no interest myself in trying the OP live show, I stopped watching at around 550 eps I think.
The live action is really well made. It's a different experience. Give it a try, you'll likely be surprised.

I'm surprised to see One Piece in the poll. We're getting at least 6 seasons here to adapt the first half of the story (which is very likely since Netflix is pumping money into the franchise non-stop right now with the remake of the anime), 12 to 14 seasons if the whole story is adapted. To be honest, I would have waited a little longer, as they both prefer completed/soon-to-be-completed series. But I also think that there is simply too much request. But I would laugh if the Netflix anime remake ends up being the better version of the original anime, live action and the remake anime and people start pushing the anime remake. :D

Star Wars (or everything else) from Disney has become really off-putting. A: "There's this great show called Andor!" B: "What's it about?" A: "It's set in the Star Wars universe and ... (B is already drifting off in thought) I don't know why, but almost everything from Disney is just unbearably awful lately and finding the one good pearl in the pile of shit and recommending it to others is damn difficult.
