The Wire 5x07 Full Reaction

I agree with the general sentiment that comments should be focused on the show, but i do find it odd to complain about political discussions when referring to the wire. The entire purpose of the show is to wake people up to political injustices. Listen to any interview with David Simon and you’ll see the guy is seething with rage at what politicians have done to the city of Baltimore.

Ouch, new patreon sub here. Are they big into politics? I'll go ahead and unsub. Definitely done with all of that stuff when I want to enjoy a show. Ive only seen their anime reactions, but the comments here make me think I made the wrong decision.

Girls there's been a spoiler posted above.

“Fuck Ron Desantis!!” -Clay Davis supporters

On the Clay Davis case, the strongest evidence against him was tied to his violating federal laws. But because the prosecutor (Bond) is ambitious, he chose to not go to the federal government with that evidence and instead decided to charge Davis with a much weaker state case that he could prosecute himself and use to run for mayor. So like every other public official on this show, he chose to put career first. Also, when Clay Davis called Bond, “Obonda” that was a reference to Obama. Who was a rising star at the time and very popular with rich white Democrats. Which was something that some black people resented or looked at suspiciously. (That completely changed when he became the front runner for the democratic nomination and he was likely to be the first black president of the United States.)

You mentioned not being sure about what Gus was discussing with the police officer in the bar - Remember when Gus asked Scott to check up on whether the woman who told the story about the poisoned lobster was lying about it, as someone reported that she had a history of committing fraud. Scott later told Gus he followed up and said he verified that the story was true and that someone else had been impersonating the sister and telling lies. The police officer in the bar basically told Gus that it would not feasible for someone to do that - so he basically confirmed Gus’s suspicions that Scott was lying.

I always get excited when you drop a new episode but then realize it's just an hour of suffering.

I finished The Wire myself last night. Won't comment too much until the reaction is posted - I watched the last few together and don't want to accidentally spoil. But I'm looking forward to seeing what Lola and Milena think.

Ladies - now that you have posted Episode 7, there is a small detail (NOT a spoiler, but important) you may want to review - that is, who is with Michael on the Stanfield corner when Omar appears. May want to take a second look.

kima’s growth is quietly one the better storylines of the season(along with bubs of course). as jimmy and the rest of the major baltimore institutions descend into lunacy, that last window scene was one of the more memorable moments of s5 for me

Thanks for uploading! Been looking forward to this all day. The journey is getting closer to the end but I've had such a blast that I can hardly complain.
