i like the ending montage of s4 so much... even though wire is definitely about the city and its social structures (and sometimes can be even seen as preachy with social democratic pov), at the moments like this it transcends. reminding us that no matter how messed up and unfair life can be, there are personal lessons to be learned for everybody. ultimately it only matters if you are strong enough to adapt & survive - we see randy realizing he has to toughen up in a group home, prezbo seeing that he can't save dukie and that he has to follow principal advice so the job won't break him, bunny deciding to save one child good instead of meaningless fight against the whole system, etc. if there is a victory and salvation, it can only be personal and the song fits so good

Thank you for this and every season! There's a great video called "The Wire Cast Reunion April 27, 2020" where it's all the kids from season 4 and their parents in a Zoom call. The video was done at the beginning of the pandemic and it's just really cool to see all the kids (including several small characters) all now grown up and reflecting on the show and their experiences.

Season 5 tho….well….you’ll see 🤨

The mental image of you two in a business meeting with your accountant in AC/DC and Guns N' Roses t-shirts, Starbucks drinks in hand saying: "We're just girls 🙂"

The scene in the montage at the end where Carver talks to a group of really young kids at the same spot where our kids hung out, and then glances at the wall and sees “Fayette Mafia Crew 4 evah” with all their names also on the wall… That moment is a complete gut punch; it really illustrates the futility and cyclic nature of things - a new batch of youngsters who are innocently playing (like our kids were in episode 1) but who will most likely be broken by the system of poverty, neglect and disadvantage that they all face 😐

Just wanted to comment on you saying you're "friends first and foremost, not business partners". That's why I like your content so much, it all feels very natural, not like you're putting on a show or trying desperately to entertain us by exaggerating your reactions or with over the top editing. Keep it up.

i was hoping for the fall of the house of usher tomorrow 😪 but well, you had a crazy week with aot so it makes sense you pushed it for next week. i'm finally catching up with violet and i'm going to start catching up with hxh and the wire. i miss the comment section aspect of patreon now that i'm behind with everything you react 💀

I think between this and the aot review later if I spend like 5 hours in a row watching I might have a problem…

With that ending, AoT wasn’t worth pushing all the other shows but I’m glad we are also finally reaching season 5 of the wire. The most divisive season by some fans..but I can’t wait to hear your thoughts of the next couple of episodes.
