Pretty sure Kurapika would die if henused them on Hisoka. It would detect how Hisoka feels just like it detected Pakunoda used her ability. Makes no sense to me that if Kurapika believes strongly enough it would just work if he used it on the wrong person. Nen conditions don't usually have loopholes based on technicalities. The only gray area would be a former member who was still close but I doubt they'd be effected either.
Paku’s death scene in the 99’ version is a work of art! Also this scene with Paku and some kittens: https://youtu.be/D-M9he9Z8FM
The anime doesn’t have its own ending it just stops at a point in the story so the manga can continue. Some anime’s catch up to the manga and have no more source material to adapt, so the Hunter X Hunter anime is waiting until the manga gets to a waaaay larger length so they have a lot more source material to adapt.
You should know that in the latest manga chapters from last year(not included in the anime) the Troupe's motivation is finally fully explained. So if you feel like it, there's much to gain in continuing into the manga from where the anime stops. Specially because Kurapika is your favorite.
Hunter it's not over, the creator togashi has chronic back pain due to overwork and stress (probably 12hrs/6 days a week) making his first success (yu yu hakusho) and the manga spent 4 years without any chapters, this year he came back with some
A small recommendation for the start of greed island is to wait to watch the new opening after the first episode.
There's no point. Especially since they'll need to watch the ending and the tutorial skit after credits. I think they can watch everything as is
Super sad to me that many of the troupe could've been friends with Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika if they were lucky enough to meet them in at they same time of the hunter exam :( Paku most definitley
Do you mean before the phantom troupe became a bunch of murderous thieves?
Kurapika actually wants to have an adventure as well since that’s what he promised to his best friend (the silhouette you saw) before he was killed. They swore they would spend their lives exploring outside their village. The two of them were very similar to Gon and Killua, and that is why I really recommend you read Kurapika’s backstory since it really shows what life could have been like for him… and if he will get it one day. His story does not end with vengeance and eyeballs, at least he doesn’t view it that way. Rather he is confused I should say. The backstory is actually the first thing after the anime ends so you know for sure his adventure will be a grand one, one with friends and fun. Or he might die idk, it’s kinda not looking good for him at the moment lol.
Hunter x Hunter Anime started in 2011 and ended in 2014 so if we reach 2024 meaning next year it will be 10 years since episode 148 aired, I personally believe the anime will come back but maybe just 24 episodes since there is some manga chapters they can adapt to 24 episodes form! Hunter x Hunter manga is in hiatus again it came back last year for few months! it has been in hiatus since 2017 until 2022 when it came back!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think once the succession arc is completed, I could see a new special anime just to cover the new stuff. That could be fun.
I wonder if Phinks feels guilty over Paku's death. If him and Feitan had trusted in her she wouldn't have had to break the promise she made under the Judgement Chain. Now that I think about it, Paku was the one who changed the future. If she didn't tell her friends what happened they would have fought and half the troupe would be dead.
Shit! I've read the manga and watched the show so many times and this never crossed my mind! Very interesting!
Best part of this chapter is to undertand how much Paku loved Chrollo pipipipipipi. :(
have I mentioned how much I fucking love this show? no matter how many years and how many rewatchs it hits me right where it matters
I'm slowly but surely catching up, on episode 31 at the moment. I can't tell where the story is going to go at all, I love it!!!
As always I would recommend, violet Evergarden, your lie in April or ranking of kings.
I've a feeling Ranking Of Kings will be selected, or at the very least get on the poll. Lots of people recommending it.
Btw are we also getting the wire today?
I really hope so!!
This episode hit hard the first time and it hits even harder after having read the latest chapters of the manga.
Paku, Nobunaga, Phinks, Feitan, you guys actually said those names right, it only took an entire arc lmao
Lol wait till CA arc.
This arc was amazing.
If you want an indication of just how bad the HxH manga situation is, check out this chart: https://hiatus-hiatus.github.io (no spoilers here). It essentially hasn't seen consistent releases since like 2005, barring some stretches of a a couple of months here and there. As a fan I've basically given up on it ever seeing an actual ending.
Yes the anime "ended" nicely at the end of a long arc but that's because the anime back then caught up to the manga and the mangaka Togashi fell ill from overwork. He only recently started picking up where he left off, which is right in the middle of a huge arc, two arcs after the final anime arc. So yes the story is ongoing. The mangaka's wife, who happens to be Sailor Moon's mangaka, has also taken to learning the art style in the event that something bad happens and he isn't able to continue. She knows enough about the story and her husband to continue it if that ever happens, but most definitely we'll see more of the story in the future.
"The mangaka's wife, who happens to be Sailor Moon's mangaka, has also taken to learning the art style in the event that something bad happens and he isn't able to continue." I've read this a million times but is it actually true? Noone ever refers to a source.
What I love in Hunter x Hunter is that the show explores really well the concept of nuance. Neither of the characters presented in the show are 100% good or evil, each one of them are humans after all and have different shades of grey.
I’m really excited to see y’all thoughts on the next arc. I think it’s people’s least favorite but y’all have very different tastes from the average anime watchers so I sure you’ll love it.
I definitely agree even the worst Hunter arc is better than like 80% of the average anime.
In my opinion nen powers' rules are strict and apply in accordance with reality. Think about Shizuku, when she cleaned the auction room she thought everyone was dead but there was a survivor so her vacuum couldn't absorbe him...if Kurapika tried to imprison Hisoka with the chains he would have died
Little clarification of the anime vs manga. The events in the anime are the same as the manga. The anime just stops at a very natural and satisfying point in the manga. It's not the same as FMA where they wrote their own version for the anime.
I never got this emotional watching this episode without you girls
it's incredible that you've already started to remember Phantom Troupe member's names. Most of us pretend to remember them or at least I pretend to remember them lol
good content! I hardly recommend you reading at least the 1st tome of HxH for Gon's backstory's sake, it does impact the next arcs, have a great day!
We had them watch episode 1 1999 off screen. It's all good there.
The whole thing felt like a nicely wrapped up present. HxH is just on that level.
YAYYY!!! SO EARLY!
