Vinland Saga 2x23 Reaction

I am a manga reader and I can say that there is still more epic storytelling to come. I hope we do not have to wait years for season 3.

I read the mangas but i'm still amazed at how beautiful this arc is. One of the best things that i've ever read and Thorfinn is definitely one of my favourite character of all time.

I’m new to the patreon and I don’t usually comment but I just have to comment in hope that my recommendation adds more support to others and makes it possible to add the shows to the poll. I think these are definitely some shows you’d like. Shorter animes: The promised neverland (S1 Only, 12 eps), Terror in Resonance (11 eps), Violet Evergarden (13 eps) Longer animes: Haikyuu (85 eps), FRUITS BASKETS (63 eps) I can’t stress how much I’d love for you to react to fb despite it not being the genres you usually watch, I just know you both will fall in love

its not very popular but i think you guys would adore. March comes in like a lion, imo its the best show at showcasing human emotion. also the most heartwarming, wholesome, feel good show I've seen.

steins;gate is pretty much a rite of passage for anime watchers. i would love to hear your girls take on it.

I would say it is right that after hxh there is Monster, we have been recommending it for years, one of the most beautiful and interesting manga/anime, in my opinion incomparable with many anime that are recommending you, but that is my opinion...

haikyuu is so fun you guys will love it even if you arent into sports. all of the characters are amazing and super enjoyable and the story is fantastic aswell

as far as the general consesus of this season i regularly see people talking about how personally impactful thorfinn’s arc is to them and how its made them reflect to be a better person. the whole “i have no enemies” line kind of took a life of its own as a meme in a wholesome way. honestly its really unique and beautiful how much the message has resounded with people

To answer Milena's question, yes this season has catapulted this show to being possibly my favourite anime of all time. The way it captures the human condition, all the ugliness that comes with that, yet still manages to provide such hope through the promise of Vinland and Thorfinn'a redemption is honestly breathtaking.

86, jujutsu kaisen, made in abyss, beastars, parasyte, erased, fruits basket, demon slayer, oshi no ko, cyberpunk, kaguya-sama love and last but not least something that is on pair with vinland saga, Prison School.

I wasn’t sure exactly how to feel after watching Vinland season one. I knew I liked it and that it was great, but season two has elevated it for me in so many ways. I feel like it has kind of transcended just being anime as “entertainment” and is more so a piece of media that’s “important”. Sure the life lessons here aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but it’s such a breath of fresh air from the usual characters we see in anime. I’m loving it. Thorfinn knows what he needs to do. Build more homes than he destroyed. Grow more wheat than he stepped on. He’s not asking for forgiveness. He’s just moving forward in the way he feels is best for everybody. I wish more people would watch this show. Edit: it makes me so happy to see Thorfinn with his mom in the preview. I can’t wait to see their reunion.

It’s not related to this episode or show but I’m so glad I stumbled upon this channel a couple years ago. You two really watch and understand shows the same way I do and I don’t have anyone in my life that I can talk to about shows like this. Avatar brought me to this channel, but since then you have reacted to my favorite animes (attack on titan, Full Metal, Vinland) as well as Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, Mr Robot, etc. Just want to say keep being yourselves and do what your doing, Milena🐐 and Lola🐐 Love from Ireland 🇮🇪

YES definitely put Monster on the list!!! One of those few animes out there that is on the same level of Vinland Saga imo.

All of these Your Lie in April comments are making me realize that I apparently have a very different read on that show. For me personally, I really didn’t like the way it handled its subject matter at all. To the point where it kinda made me angry. Though this was admittedly years ago that I watched it, and I might feel differently now. Coming off of a show like Vinland that handles so much of its subject matter well and with nuance…and in contrast, to me at least, YLiA doesn’t. But that’s just how I interpreted it, and I can tell a lot of others feel differently. So who knows? Maybe Lola and Milena would love it too.

I'm definitely with you guys in regards to how "life changing" this story feels. This arc in particular had a profound effect on me when I first read it. Thorfinn is probably my favorite protagonist ever as well.

Watch Cyberpunk, it will change your lives😂😂 at least put it in the pole. On a separate note, it’s insane how almost every episode of Vinland season 2 has been 9/10 minimum. It’s one of the best seasons of any show I’ve ever seen. Thorfinn’s character development is so beautiful to watch

Agree with all your thoughts, there really isn't hyperbole when it comes to this series, the manga unironically changed my life Thorfinn is possibly my favorite main character in fiction. He truly is a 'beautiful man', and someone that people can actually learn from

i just logged on tv time to mark the bear as watched and omg lola, i never thought i'd live to see the day you updated you tv time favourites. did it hurt to remove some of them? was it too painful? but i love the new list. good to see derry girls there too. we match on a couple of our favourites. thought it suprised me that avatar is not there.

This anime has indeed carved itself into me. Forever. And i want rest of the story to be adapted like this as well, because it deserves it. Thorfinn's character is only gonna rise and it will keep rising girls. He is gonna burn with so much brightness that sun would become dull in front of his flame. That's all I'll say about our boy. And i can say this because I've read manga. He has a long road ahead of him and we'll follow him along to a place without wars and slavery. Thank you yukimura for writing this story.

well if it can't be monster, then i would say Steins gate is perfect as next anime

Once Thorfinn told Einar "brother... come with me" that was it, the last nail in the coffin, after that the tears just wouldn't stop lol, it's like the show wanted to make sure it drained our tear ducts by the end, and it accomplished it. I haven't finished your discussion yet, but to answer your question, at least for me, this is one of my favorites pieces media I've experienced, it has become one of my top of all time. I convinced a couple of my friends to watch it and we ended up having discussions about positivity and morality (I'm still trying to convince more people lol). I've also recently discovered a coworker who is also watching it, he told me "that show should win all the awards" and how he started reading the manga. Anyways, that's my experience with people around me watching this show, sorry for the long comment, I'm gonna stop typing now

I am so happy for these two. We all knew this episode would be so cathartic for them.

First of all, love the camera upgrade but the camera position change will take some getting used to lol. Second of all, lovely episode and reaction, I cried many tears of joy. And I agree with y'all Vinland has definitely become one of my all-time favorite pieces of storytelling, it's so close to my heart. And I wouldn't be too worried about the wait for season 2 of Spy x Family, it's far more episodic than most the stuff y'all watch, it won't leave you desperate for more aside from missing its wholesome, fun vibes. I still haven't gotten around to Your Lie in April sadly but I definitely think you'd enjoy the other two a lot. As far as other single season animes go, I'm sure it would never win but I'd love to see The Case Study of Vanitas (SO underrated), and for a more likely contender, I highly suggest considering Violet Evergarden.

they need to react to 86! similar to attack on titan in tone, even has the same composers for music as AoT with a great soundtrack. they would absolutely love it only 24 episodes

okay, ended up playing at least the intro to check how the new camera looked (comments made me curious) and first; it looks great, angle feels weird but it's normal after so long watching from another angle. second, as far as i'm aware ranking of kings is not finished either but i could be wrong. i haven't watched you lie in april but only hear good things about it. i'd love to add 86:Eighty Six to the suggestions. think you'd love it. but i do love spy x family and enjoyed ranking of kings a lot too, so i'd be happy with either of them too.

Consider adding Violet Evergarden to the poll! It's very short and one of the most beautiful/touching shows I've ever watched. The main character is voiced by Yui Ishikawa the same voice actress as Mikasa and she absolutely kills it

To answer your question, yes this is one of my favorite shows of all time. There is an audience of people who maybe don't see what we see but personally this show has effected my mental state so much. Ever since episode 8 I've been changing some of my life habits and as Canute said "I feel good." Its been a hell of a ride and I'm so glad you guys enjoyed it as well.

I love your lie in April !!! Please watch it I prefer the dub version over the sub. I feel like the dialogue in the dub version is better than the sub the way they translate it and the voice acting is just more impactful than the sub in my humble opinion.

Vinland saga was the manga that changed my way of seeing manga, so it changed me in part, I felt Thorfinn's story was part of me, because it is the story of a boy who overcomes his weakness to become something greater, and still today after years of manga reading, it remains in my top 3
