Thorfinn dropped the sword at last season's last scene, its a good thing he doesn't want to fight. If he has any intention of becoming a true warrior like his father the first step is to let go of the sword. He shouldn't come back to the battlefield. This is development
when i saw the episode the first time i didn't think in the master being manipulative but you left me thinking about that possibility now xd and i also thought the woman with the son was the crush of Einar, but not, the crush of Einar hasn't freckles. i like the way you think about the development of Thorfinn and what you expect from now, and (i'm sorry my spam is coming) i have to say this but this is why i think you would love MONSTER Well, I'm so excited for the next one.✨
I can't imagine any Western media depicting slavery this way but it was not completely black and white with how all slave owners treated their slaves. Its basically slavery treated like indentured servitude. Its hard to accept how people could be so inhumane at different time periods but I think all our morality is completely relative. I'm sure 100 years from now if all of our meat is lab grown people are gonna look back at factory farming and not be able to understand why 99% of the human population just accepts it and eats meat every day.
You probably missed it but the man with Ketil (Pater) said he was a former slave who got his freedom through the same way
I personally don’t think Ketil is being manipulative. He just seems like a farmer who buys slaves as workers for his farm, like how he only buys Einar because he’s worked on a farm. That sounds horrible, but like you mentioned given the times, that’s the most common way to obtain workers. And while the whole clearing the woods for freedom task seems impossible, given how much Thorfinn was able to do by himself, I could see the 2 of them getting it done in that 3 year time frame Ketil mentions. I could be completely wrong and Milena could be right though lol. Will have to see as the season goes on
my boys! little did i know when i started vinland saga that the little angry boy would become my favourite main character form an anime and one of my favourite characters altogether. einar is a wholesome character who deserves everything good in this world 😭
