Vinland Saga 1x24 Reaction

ahhh came here to have my heart broken again!! the wound is still fresh

love how you just accept the episode title haha

No you are right, you should wait.............................but like? *nudge

"I'm an old man already. There's not much time left for me to work. I just couldn't wait any longer for the true king to return from Avalon." Ep 17, Top 5 characters ever.

RIP Askeladd

PEAK FICTION

Great reactions to a great first season. Who makes a prologue like this? Kentaro Miura would kindly request you hold his saki.

The only thing you forgot to mention in the review is the absolutely gut wrenching voice acting for Thorfin this episode. It's immaculate.

Askeladd could’ve told Thorfinn that the person who hired him to kill Thors (Floki the bitch) was standing right there next to him, but he didn’t because he wanted him to “go beyond the place where Thors went”. Such a beautiful gesture from a problematic father figure

If you think you’ve already witnessed greatness, just wait

Awesome reaction guys, you made it to the end of The Prologue. This is just the beginning and its going to get better and better :)

END OF THE PROLOGUE

i so much love it when they make predictions and the show they are watching is like, "aight bet" and finese them completely😂😭. Thorfinn has now lost two fathers. its messed up. great reaction guys!!

Amazing 1st season and the last episode always hits different from all the other episodes we see askeladd . Thorfinn and Askeladd is such a complicated wierd relationship. Thorfinn has to live with himself with the things his done. Can’t wait for season 2. Love y’all reactions.

guys, did they upload ep 22 discussion? I can't find it

Here's a fun fact. There's a few historical figures that are thought to be the inspiration for King Arthur (Artorius). Askeladd's mother was waiting for the return of one of them who won the battle of Badon hill 5 centuries ago (Ambrosius Aurelianus). However, one of the other candidates was a man named Lucius Artorius Castus (which was Askeladd's real name). While in actual history he was born centuries before this show takes place, its a easter egg to show that Askeladd after losing faith in waiting for Artorius became Artorius himself.

i can't express how happy i am you're satisfied with askeladd's story. since he was your favourite character i was afraid you would lose some interest on the show. though to be completely honest knowing you from all the reactions i've watched i didn't think you would, but there was still a possibility i guess. i've rewatch that scene and askeladd's speech many times and i always tear up and end up crying. just amazingly executed and the voice actor did a wonderful job (again). many readers don't love the next part of the manga but i actually love it and i believe you will too. can't wait to see your reaction to the next episodes and both the intro and outro. btw, i've seen some people point out that his second name was artorious, after the lengend but no one points out that lucius means light/brightness. so yeah, he ended up being the 'hero' that saved wales from being invaded so in the eyes of thst people he was kind of like the light in the dark. i remember milena mentioning a bunch of episodes ago that she would like that askeladd died thinking wales was condemned even if it wasn't true. i imagine she doesn't feel the same anymore though. also (and lastly) i'm not sure if i understood right. from now on are you just going to react to it once a week or just keep it twice until you catch up?

Fun fact: this episode is ranked as the 6th best tv episode of all time on IMDB (used to be 5th but The Last of Us just took 1st place from Breaking Bad lol) Edit: It's back to 5 lol

Lol, in shock like I said two episodes ago

Makoto Yukimura is the name of the author

He was waiting for artorius as a child, got tired of waiting and went searching for artorius. In his final moments he becomes artorius as he becomes the savior of wales. The writing is so good

Is Askeladd evil? Yes. Is he a hero? Yes. In his own way he fullfilled the Artorius prophecy. He saved Wales. S tier character.

It's always fun seeing people get the wrong idea of this show just because they're told it's has vikings and the doubt that people have they'll like askeladd or how milena felt towards it in the first 2 episodes

I hope they give a few reactions to the outro next episode!

LUCIUS ARTORIUS CASTUS. The daddy slayer, raiser of orphans, king maker. LEGEND. RIP

"Death perfects a person" indeed.

Askleadd has to be one of the best written characters in fiction of all time. An absolutely amazing character, but Vinland Saga manages to get better even without him. Truly a brilliant story

Rip Askeladd he chose to save both Wales and Canute by sacrificing his life since he realized it was the only way to save both his home and the best candidate as king. Askeladd was easily the best character in season 1 and so well developed. Definitely one of the best characters out there among a lot of anime’s imo.

13:36 That’s the moment Askeladd went from calm to wanting to kill him on the spot kind of rage. lol Not often you see that kind of reaction from Askeladd. The king insulted Askeladd on a very deep level considering what his mom was and that Wales is his og home. Askeladd probably stopped caring after that just thinking “this king got to die”. 😝 Maybe not stopped caring but probably wanted to kill the king at nearly any cost and I assume this was before he realized only way to save both was for him to sacrifice himself.

yes well this was the prologue of vinland saga, i don't think i've ever seen such a thing in an anime, but this is like the flashback of thorfinn, 24 episodes, absolute masterpiece, and the fun starts now.. .

OMG FINALLY!!

End of the Prologue

Yeah, Vinland saga.

you were REALLY CONFIDENT askeladd was not dying so i guess this really surprised you 😂 now you're only 2 episodes behind. well, the third drops tomorrow so i guess 3.

It's time

literally i was camping here waiting this kadjakdk
