In my opinion, canute and askeladd disappearing in intro infront of thorfinn's eyes signify that they are moving ahead. They have found their life's calling. Their purpose to live. Meanwhile thorfinn is stuck quest for revenge.

I think based on your taste's, you're going to love season 2. It's my favorite arc in the manga.

I don't know why people are saying Season 2 opening is a spoiler.... its not... I think your overreacting a lot. Cant wait till you guys get to S2! If they watched season one both openings, I don't think there's no issue at all...

Also as an addendum - I think it was brought up previously how the writer of AoT Isayama was inspired a lot by Vinland Saga, and I always thought the moment where Thorkell asks 'What do those eyes see?' / 'What does the world look like from those eyes?' about Thors and Canute that it reminds me a lot of Kenny Ackerman's character and his desire to see the world in the way that Uri Reiss did.

I think watching the opening to season 2 is fine, spoilers are more noticeable if you have read the manga, I would say season 1 openings have way more spoilers for non readers.

Apologies if this came up in the discussion haven't watched it all yet but a small detail that may have been missed from the scene with Thors and Thorkell When Thorkell asks Thors where he is going to go, he says 'Somewhere not here'. Thorkell also uses the phrase again later in the episode when he describes where Thors went: 'Somewhere not here' was the title of the first episode set in Iceland.

To clarify a few small details that you may have been confused on, Askeladd mentioned "how a real fight isnt the same as Shogi". Shogi is a Japanese board game that has alot of similarities to chess. Pieces and rules are very close. His statement basically meant the reason he didnt fight earlier was because even if he had defeated Thorkell, his men wouldve killed him. However, in the duel, Thorkell announced he would let them go so defeating Thorkell became a possibility for survival. And Thorkell's weakness isnt something that specifically applies to him. And its his jaw rather than his face. If enough force is applied to that area, you can knock out almost anyone even if they are physically stronger. That was Thorkell's one weakness (which usually isnt a weakness because not only is he tall af that its hard to reach, but without Askeladd's interference, Thorfinn wouldnt be able to reach him)

all i will say is this, who in thier right mind will allow a child to to follow them around for years into battle, who wants that kinda of burden...Knowing what we know about asklad so far, if it was ANY other person i dont think he would have that kinda patience! Above all, he respected Thors, and i think that afects how he treats his son. He trusted only two people to take care of prince canute. Bjorn and thorfinn. Asklad may not know it, but he adopted Thorfinn.

Man I'm so excited for you guys to watch the new season. Episode 1 was amazing and the opening was fucking fantastic. I really hope you guys consider Jujutsu kaisen for the poll. I know Hunter x Hunter is probably going to win and I am totally fine with that since it's a great show, but I know for a fact that you guys would adore the characters in JJK.

i do not believe s2 intro has spoilers but idk, maybe that's just me. at least for me is not more spoilery than s1 intros.

This is really scary, they can potentially see someone posting stuff on social media about Vinland Saga, I hope no one spoils them about anything.

You are right. But as a manga reader. We didn’t know how those two characters look like. We didn’t had an opening to let us know. Witch gave us a cool experience once we find out.

Just a reminder. So Vinland Saga season 2 just came out and the opening has a spoiler that might ruined your experience. So I recommend to skip or just close your eyes.
