I recommend watching Fruits Basket. Wholesomeness, check. Found family, check. Parent issues, check. I can’t say it’s as good as FMAB, but it did make me cry and it also made me feel so happy. AND it’s only 63 episodes.
I will forever recommend She-Ra. I think it checks all the boxes: wholesome but sometimes hurts, found families, lost parents, engaging storylines and plot. I hope you consider it!
One Piece is a great anime with all of the things you guys would love. It's also pretty long and ongoing, so you'll be loving it for a while
Guys... this is my favorite anime and I have yet to find a show that even comes close. Avatar is probably the only show I would say is as good (ie. story, emotional payoff, amazing characters with amazing bonds, wholly satisfying ending) and you've already watched it. My Hero Academia is fun and HxH is also really good. *edit* I just saw someone recommend Haikyuu and I think you guys would love it. It's a sports anime (you don't need to know anything about volleyball to get into it) but it has lovable characters and great emotional payoff and character growth.
I would love them to watch Haikyuu too, they will say "my boys" every episode lol

I recommend you Over the Garden Wall it is a cartoon network mini show 10 episodes of 10 minutes each. It's about two brothers that are lost in the woods and trying to return to their house, but they didn't remeber how they got lost in the woods... this show is a 10/10 for me. It got kind of darkness but the little brother is so funny... so it is amazing haha btw, it is on HBO
If you're specifically looking for a series like FMAB, and you're sad that it's ending soon(ish), you could probably give the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist series a shot. Otherwise, it sounds like these are your show requirements: [1] Wholesomeness, but it still hurts (like good pain) [2] Great storyline [3] Siblings or found families (people that love each other) [4] Similar to FMA vibes [5] No super long shows (unless it's 100% guaranteed to be something they love) [Bonus] Includes children who were left by their parents at a young age

I recommend Black clover, JOJOs, ReZero, Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Revengers, Goblin Slayer, Iron blooded orphans, SAO, D gray man, Mushoku Tensei, Dr stone, Mushishi, Aldnoah Zero, One punch man, guilty crown. I’m literally listing stuff that are not similar to Fmab but hey they might like some of it
Goblin slayer , mushoku tensei, Tokyo ghoul and SAO ? Really bruh ? Mushoku tensei and goblin slayer especially are terrible recommendations for them and will make them feel extremely uncomfortable and disgusted by Rudys disgusting habits. As for sao and Tokyo ghoul (the anime) very generic and inconsistent writing, I don’t think they would enjoy those shows.
It's long but what you described for what you want in a series is basically Fairy Tail exactly. If you are willing to watch around 300 episodes you would definitely like Fairy Tail a lot. Fairy Tail also has a fantastic English Dub just like FMAB does.
I'm a huge fan of Fairy Tail, and I think they'd love the characters. Unfortunately, in addition to being super long (as you've pointed out), plot isn't a strong point. I'd absolutely watch if they reacted to it though.

A show similar to avatar that you would enjoy that I would recommend is one piece. The great characters, story, and worldbuilding are enough to make you excited for the next episode imo.

what i love is that they asked for shows similar to avatar and fmab in terms of vibes and many people are suggesting things that have nothing similar to those shows lol i mean, i get it, if i could i'd beg them to watch midnight mass in every post they make
believe me i have no words, i constantly read demon slayer or hunter x hunter, shows that have nothing to do with fmab or avatar, just because there are children as protagonists so they assume that these shows are perfect for lola and milena ...
I love how where all talking about what anime for them to watch next but they not even close to finishing this one like not even close and they just started 2nd season of mob psycho. It’ll be awhile till they watch something new lol. They’ll finish mob in about 11 weeks probably since they only do an episode every week btw.. so maybe then they might start something new to watch

Fruits Basket is such a beautiful anime and it would be a really fun change of pace for the channel. It has a great story and characters, a found family, siblings, being left by parents lol it would make you laugh and cry and laugh again all in the same episode! Its the perfect show for discussions and making predictions! I guarantee you would be hooked and already love someone after episode one
Demon slayer is good when it comes to characters, siblings and animation. Its also very popular so putting it out will be good for patreon and youtube (especially when the new seasons comes out). I understand whats others think when they say that DS dont have this amazing plot like fmab and aot and its a fighting anime, but to me its pretty simple.. if you dont like it...you can drop it, so i really recommend to give it a try and see if you like it :)
the ranking of Kings is a masterpiece , on par with AOT
Haikyuu This is an overall wholesome sports anime following a high school first year in his volleyball journey. It can be a surprisingly emotional ride as you learn to love each member of the team as well as many of the opponents that they face. It’s actually the one of only two sports anime that I personally love, the other being Run With the Wind. I know a sports anime could be a hard sell for some, and admittedly the plot can’t really wow anyone, but you really do fall for the boys and can’t help but root for them. The long and short of it is that it really does make you feel good at the end of the day and I mean, a sports team is just like a found family right?
Haikyuu is incredible and needs more people talking about it honestly
Do watch HxH, it's a masterpiece. The animation is gorgeous, it has so many heart wrenching, but also heartwarming moments, great cast of characters and some very serious themes it explores, many of which involve moral relativism. It can sometimes get scary, very cruel and shocking. Also, it's very moving at times and for me it's impossible not to cry at some scenes, but on the other hand it's often really funny, charming and wholesome. You really get to care about the characters. The music is amazing and the story is fantastic.

RE ZERO or Steins gate
Hunter x Hunter is a must watch, but the question of WHEN you watch it is open for debate. Never cried so much at an anime as HxH and the character development is some of the best I've ever seen. It's also my most rewatched anime by a mile (even though its over 100 eps). If you did watch it you might want to do 2 eps or more per reaction. I'm not against you choosing shorter anime first.
Surprised noone has mentioned Re:Zero. HxH is a longass show, so hopefelly you can pick small and good shows out of the way first.

Lots of people talking about Demon Slayer which I understand, It's a good show that they will definitely enjoy especially because it's siblings lol. But I feel like Jujutsu Kaisen is a little slept on... The story and Characters are better than Demon Slayer and the animation goes just as hard at times.
My recommendations would be Jujutsu Kaisen, A Silent Voice (if they want to do a movie), Samurai Champloo, Haikyuu, Parasyte, and maybe Devilman Crybaby or Terror in Resonance.

I like Demon Slayer but I feel like you two would definitely like the story in Hunter Hunter a little more.
I feel like most of the comments dissing Demon Slayer aren't looking at it from the perspective of a newbie to Anime, which is why half the people dissing it are confused as to why it's so popular. Not saying it's a masterpiece or that it belongs in the same league as FMA or HxH, but it's a pretty great introduction to Shounen Anime for people who are new to the genre in my opinion.
i mean... demon slayer was like the 4th or 5th anime i've watched and i didn't like it at all

Personally would love for y’all to watch some slice of life/drama anime: Violet Evergarden, place further than the universe, or even Kaguya Sama: Love is War. Feel like you two would love the characters and interactions. Haikyuu feels perfect for them imo
I would love all of these but Lola might actually die watching Violet Evergarden. Do we really want them to cry that much lol? Kaguya Sama would be great because its like the best part of death note turned into a wholesome/funny love story
I haven't watched the video yet but I see people recommending anime so here goes: For this vibe, Hunter x Hunter for the love of god its the best choice. Definitely not Demon Slayer, I'm sorry but Demon Slayer reactions are so boring, as much as I enjoy the show itself. I actually recently watched Monster too thanks to this community talking about it so much and oh my god its so good. It has psychological thriller vibes but since it's an anime, it still has so much heart and focuses on characters first. It's an incredible combination. Plus there's a shortage of reactions to it so that would be awesome. But again, Hunter x Hunter is my first choice. Spy x Family I like too, it's cute.
first of all sorry for my english if i will make some mistakes, but i don't think they will like hxh, too long, too many fights, and worst of all it's not finished, and it doesn't look like avatar or fmab in the least, the story is very beautiful and some story arcs got me excited, but again, I believe that for the reasons I mentioned above they will not like this show
If you change Zuko's story in any way then he's no longer the boy you loved. He becomes a new character.

I love Erased. But many people don't like the last two episodes so much.
I would still recommend Monster, Haikyu!, Rainbow Nisha, Ranking of Kings, Odd Taxi, and Spy x Family to the two. Hunter x Hunter is a good show, but I wouldn't be comfortable recommending another action power anime that focuses on minors with powers. It's getting boring otherwise.
Monster is fantastic (just finished it a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about it) but HxH is my all time fav so I’m gonna stay recommending that. Spy x Family feels like it should replace Mob tbh, I feel like the shows have similar priorities

No anime can compare to FMAB, but I think Demon Slayer has things that you like that are also in FMAB, for example the show is about to two kind/sweet siblings (a boy and his sister) in an action-packed adventures, but it also has very wholesome/sad moments.
but has very basic not intersting story which is the most important thing i like the animation the villains and Hashira but the main group are not good character at all except Inouske
HxH is really great imo, storywise and plot r top tier. As well as the character development is a huge win for HxH. However, I think some arcs in HxH r too drawn out and get pretty boring easily (*reed Island) lol. I think FMAB all arcs r extremely interesting and top tier so I personally think FMAB deff takes the cake over HxH, but HxH is up there in terms of best created anime (imo). Though, I wouldnt be surprised if yall like it just as much as FMAB. But tbh I would recommend something a lottt shorter of an anime than HxH. Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy X Family, Erased, Vinland Saga or Cowboy Bebop.
Ooof the character development in hunter x hunter is top tier. Arguably the best thing about the show
These aren't anime, but She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and The Owl House are both great shows that are very wholesome and have the good pain you're talking about. They also have found families!

Something like FMAB?? Probably My Hero Academia. Action-packed, lots of great characters and pretty good storyline. Hope you give it a chance!!
It’s so boring ;u; I watched 3 seasons. “US of smash” was the only saving grace.
So many great moments in this episode. Armstrong killing Raven is always incredible, and that intro with Hohenheim is so sad. Also this is literally the only time I haven't been happy to see Winry show up lol. Silver Spoon was written by the same author as FMA. It's more comedy focused, but also has a found family aspect and can get you in the feelings. Fruits Basket (2019) would be a great choice. It's the kind of show that will stab you in the heart and then mend it with a gentle kiss. Claymore is a really great female-led series. It's a dark fantasy drama about women called 'Claymores' that hunt demons, and focuses a lot on found families that the main character makes.
Ranking of Kings is a good anime. It has an interesting art style as well as storytelling that is wholesome with some nice twists.

I hate to break it to you two, but there are NO shows that are 'exactly like this' only worse, and very few better. I do second the Code Geass recommendation though. Its not perfect, but it does have an amazing first season, a pretty okay second season, with a GODLIKE final 5 episodes. That and its one of the few shows I recommend to watch Dubbed. Some people think subbed is the best, but I disagree. CG dubbed is 100% where its at.

You guys should check out the first series of Trigun. Awesome storyline for how old it is. However they are restarting the series from what I understand it a remake titled Trigun Stampede. And I can not wait.
You girls should watch Code Geass - 2 seasons of 25 episodes each - strong sibling stories - political / military setting Plus the first intro song is regarded as one of hottest bangers any anime can open with 🔥
Code Geass is my favorite anime of all time! I think it fits into the same category as Deathnote and FMAB in terms of plot and story. Has good characters and sibling moments, but is admittedly less wholesome that Avatar or FMA. Also, good pacing and length as it is only 50 episodes.

from what i know hunter x hunter has been on hiatus for a few years now so its still an ongoing series. at some point there will be more episodes again but its unclear when

That's a good question, I'm not sure. I personally love Cowboy Bebop but it's been hit or miss with everyone I've recommended it to. People I've thought would like it don't and people I thought wouldn't like it did. It can be a bit episodic which I don't think L&M would like though.
I think Jujutsu Kaisen has the perfect blend of serious story and characters and comedic moments/scenes that leave you hooked every scene.
Demon Slayer is a god awful show. The people recommending it don’t understand what you’re looking for.
i wouldn't say god awful but mediocre in terms of plot. the only thing it has going is the animation, that i admit is incredible. the plot is repetitive and most of the characters are cringy and forgettable. the humour is horrible and the only thing i think they may enjoy is the sibling relationship between tanjiro and nezuko (mind you that one of the only relevant female characters of the show doesn't talk and has a gag 90% of the time) and the found family. the rest is always the same, rinse and repeat. i honestly don't get why it's so freaking popular. the worst anime i've watch hands down.
The only thing comparable is Hunter X Hunter. You’ll ABSOLUTELY fall in love with it!

Hunter X Hunter is the best choice, it's often considered one of the best right along with Fullmetal.
I think either Silver Spoon or Ping-Pong would be an excellent follow up to this series.

Spy x Family is the definition of found family. Literally.
I am for Spy x Family too. I had just watched it a few days ago because I didn't want to do the weekly release to myself and it's just the funniest and cutest anime I've ever seen. The manga also went completely through the roof after the first episodes were released and was #1 on the sales charts for the last 10 weeks. And the best thing about the anime is just the characters. It's such a cute family.
I would also recommend Hunter x Hunter, although it is a longer anime. But that's just more time to love some new (amazing) characters!

People keep recommending demon slayer but it’s not a show they would like. Yes, Tanjiro is a sweetheart but you have to think of both who the reactors are and the whole package you are telling them to watch. I say this as a demon slayer fan, there’s so many other things that they would like so much more, such as Ranking of Kings or Spy X Family

ok, in terms of recommendation i've never watched hunter x hunter but i've heard great things i really hope the demon slayer stans don't start recommending it again because it has nothing to do with avatar or fmab i like jujutsu kaisen and it has the found family trope but maybe is not for you. i do love it and the main character is adorable. yuji (main character from jjk) and al are probably the cutest anime characters for me.
HxH is literally the best next thing they could watch after fmab and avatar, pretty similar vibes
