Hahaha, when Amos arrived at Luna, I suddenly realized that you two would again freak out in joy from Amos meeting up with Chrisjen again. Not disappointed. Rewatch the scene and pay attention to Chrisjen's eyes when Amos picks up his bags... 馃槣 And yes the memorial for the ship, is the ship that Naomi and Marco blew up.
If y'all haven't already, even though you've started the season, watch the trailer for 5, they hyped it up well when Amazon took it over.
I really enjoy season 5. Lots of great things to look forward to. But I gotta say, it's far from my favorite one. I really miss the crew being together.
The scene with Amos beating up all the guys on his freighter was really powerful in the books because he was the POV character and we'd never had him as a POV before. And the narration was describing him feeling things he couldn't identify before realizing that it was grief and loss for Lydia, and he didn't like feeling these things because he's not used to them and got overwhelmed. I feel like they could have done a better job portraying that in the show even though that's always difficult, portraying the inner life of characters on-screen without clumsy monologuing (which would be especially out of character for Amos). He's generally quite a different character in the book, the whole humour and light-heartedness that Wes brings to him in the show isn't really there in the books.
I don't know, I feel like the way the Amos scene is edited gets the point about his grief across really well too. They spoke about it a bit on the Amazon After-Show, and I definitely think they made the right choice editing it the way they did. I loved that chapter in the book too, but for me the show version actually stood out more. To each their own.
Each of the crew has their burdens and locations set up now. Let the stories begin.
This is the season that makes rewatching the show so incredibly rewarding. So many little things from earlier seasons were such subtle foreshadowing that watching it from the beginning again changes the whole show now that you'll understand them. Season one wont feel slow at all anymore because you'll see everything was building to this.
That scene towards the end, James just suddenly realized that he was now all alone on the Roci.
Yeah and I also think he had become so accustomed to seeing Miller in moments like that, that he still half expects it to happen.
Wheeeeeeeeee. Here we go..
