Can we cool it with the hint spoil comments
I like the Iron Blood Alchemist. Unfortunately, one important scene was not taken from the manga. When the elders surrender with a white flag, Hughes and he get orders to kill them anyway. Their superior really yells at them and threatens them. And what does the Iron Blood alchemist say? "Did you know that half of all officer deaths on the battlefield are attributed to assassination by subordinates?" He then simply shoots him. And everyone around him makes comments like. "... It was a stray bullet." "Yup. That's what I saw." As I said with episode 29: You should definitely watch the following scenes, because I think they are very important (for later dialogue): https://imgur.com/a/zJE3FV3 And in general, if you want to see more about what happened in the Ishval War, just read chapters 58-61, or https://imgur.com/a/75X5GuD
yep, the military characters you come to know and love are all war criminals!
Ive been waiting so long for this one... Cant wait to hear the discussion and your thoughts!
There were 2 alchemists that we saw in this episode that very early on we saw Scar kill, The Iron Blood Alchemist whom was killed in Episode 4, and I believe the following episode we saw the penguin dude (this episode we saw him on a stretcher screaming about having lost his leg), also Dr. Marco at the end. Of course he has the intent to continue this pattern, who do you think he will confront next either successfully or unsuccessfully? Also, we really get the feeling that, while not justified, we more so understand the rationale behind Scar's desire for revenge with how devastating the Alchemists were in this genocide.
I believe he was The Silver Alchemist, introduced and killed right before Scar met Mei.
I’m looking forward to hearing your discussion for this one. It’s a difficult watch, though as others have mentioned it’s still only a fraction of what was in the manga. Hiromu Arakawa did her research, and it shows in the most heartbreaking of ways.
such a good episode. seeing armstrong break down like always hits me like a truck. couldn't wait for the edited vid but I'm looking forward to hearing y'alls discussion!
Executive order 3066 was actually inspired by the USA government's executive order 9066
There’s quite a few real world inspirations for the Ishvalan genocide, including that of Japan and the Ainu people.
Hey, guys I just wanted to ask what method you use to decide which shows to watch next? Like are the polls and stuff and if so when do they happen?
Hey do you think you could add a countdown before the timer starts? It's hard to sync everything up when the reaction starts immediatley
I start the episode and as soon as I get some "sound checkpoint", I paused it. Then I start the reaction and as soon as I get to that sound, I resume the episode. This way is really easy for me to sync
Oh jesus, i'm rewatching this with you guys now as an adult and uh.. i forgot how gruesome they really make the genocide look. That was actually heavier than i remember.......
Dr Marcoh wanted to be judged... And his wish was finally granted. As sad as it was, I still think that this was the outcome that Marcoh wanted. And Scar was the most worthy to fulfill that wish
their reaction to Al talking to Mei killed me XD
Isn't 4x03 first or did I miss it ?
yes sorry my mistake, 4x03 is coming today
lets do the expanse 4x3 first :P
