It should be Hawkeye and Mustang. Because of being in the military, first names are awkward and not used. Rank, codenames and last names, but not first name. I think both Roy and Riza are too professional to launch into full romance while in the military.

That was heartbreaking to see Hughes daughter grab a hold of Winry. I definitely had a tear in my eye after that one.

I definitely call her Hawkeye because its a badass name. But I also call him Colonel Mustang cuz that's pretty awesome too. I'm not as familiar with FMAB as I am with AoT as far as episode numbers but I'm pretty sure some of my favorites are coming up, for a bunch of characters.

Note the difference in word choice. Sacrifice, and Potential Sacrifice. Ed and his Teacher are Sacrifices, Roy has the "Potential" to become a Sacrifice.

also, if there's something i adore about hawkeye and roy's relationship is that even though he outranks her she never hesitates to call is bullshit and chasitate him when he does something she knows is not right

Hawkeye's phrase: "NOW you will treat them as children" is a lot more impactful when you consider the context that Colonel Mustang was the first to not treat them as children when he made Edward a state alchemist

Don't forget that Envy was in the shape of Ross right before the death of Hughes. I think it may have been an intentional pick for the sins' choice to throw her under the bus, but I also think it is interesting because she was how the Elrics found out about Hughes as well.

don't mind me, i just finished my 3rd overall rewatch of this show (literally 15 minutes ago) and i'm emotional 😪 tbh i also call them roy and hawkeye, so no judgement here yes, i edited it because i realised i said i call him mustang when i do call him roy lol
