During filming of S3 the cast did not know that the show was saved. the cancellation by SyFy came during the airing of S3E6 (remember THAT one??) and two weeks later when S3E8 aired we got the news that Bezos and Amazon were going to pick up the Expanse for Season 4 (and then later Seasons 5 and 6). I participated in the funding of the airplane as I could not bear for this amazing show to end. It was one of the great days of my life when we found out that the show was saved!! (That was in May 2018).

my computer (mind you it doesn't even have a year) broke while i was 3 minues into this video now i'm broke, i don't have a computer for the foreseeable future and i'll always associate this with the expanse s2 finale 💀😭

Trying to catch up and watching on Youtube S2E9 right now... just want to add to the notion that your fear of this show dropping off in later seasons will be unfounded. :)

I have been waiting for you two to start S3. Very early into S3 Sy-Fy announces they won't be renewing The Expanse (Fucking Retarded) Out of the many multiple attempts fans made to get the attention of someone to save the expanse, one fan rented a plane with the banner "save the expanse" and flew it around Amazon's headquarters for hours. Eventually, Jeff Bezos took notice and asked what the Expanse was. He ended up binging all of it and by around the end of S3 he announces the Expanse is saved during a live event with some of the cast (The article actually has the video of this) The cast even invited the guy who got the plane onto the set and it was a very feel good moment in TV history. Season 3 also is rated 100% on rotten tomatos by critics (rightly deserved), the ending of book 2 and the ending of S3 are both tied as my favorite episodes, you two will love this season You can actually see how the cancelation affected the cast in this season, and their renewed hope during the few episodes they filmed after being saved. Maybe i'm remembering that part wrong but I truely saw a flood of emotions with the cast outside the script.

One of the crew of the Arbogast who was left drifting in space when the protomolecule disassembled it above Venus was a cameo appearance by Adam Savage. He is a TV personality who had a show called "Mythbusters" in the US, and is a superfan of the show. As a result, they gave him that cameo appearance. You may also see various items throughput the series labeled as being from "Savage Industries" as another way th series has paid homage to him.

Bobby couldn’t use the guns of the U.N. soldiers on Mao’s ship because they have biometric locks so they can only be fired by the person they are assigned to. Those soldiers are also just personal security while Bobby is a highly trained Marine so they stood no chance lol. Every season finale is named after the book the season adapts (more or less, books 1 and 2 bleed a little bit into their following seasons but after that, it's pretty much 1 book per season) so, Caliban’s War is the name of Book 2. It’s also the name of the protomolecule/human hybrid program, Project Caliban which was shown a few times on the tablet that Avasarala had. Also, the disassembly of the ship over Venus while Naomi is talking about how the Protomelecule changes everything gives me chills every single time. One of the coolest scenes in TV history IMO. To think something has the power to strip a highly sophisticated spacecraft down to the nuts and bolts in nearly an instant is mind-boggling.

S3 coming up... S3 and S5 are some of the best TV seasons EVER, rivaling the best from Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Battlestar... among the greats of anything. HAVE FUN!
