People on earth living on basic assistance isn't quite like communism. The state has not taken the means of production. Mao has tons of companies, and there''s all the capitalism you have today. Basic assistance is the government providing clothing, medical care and housing (no money) from taxes. It's closer to scandinavian social welfare than the USSR.

Venus is a super harsh environment, so the biological readings they were seeing was super weird, but you have the advantage of having seen more about the stuff that crashed into Venus, the Earthers are playing catch-up. The armed guys were taking everything AND the ship, so that led to the conclusion that they'd possibly kill them as well once they turned the ship over.
There are no bad seasons with this show. S4 seems like a slow down, but that’s just because this series is done in trilogies, so S4 is almost like S1. It’s world building, but in a completely different way. It also seems slower because the back half of S3 is balls to wall all the way. I’ve already said that I love how quickly you took to Drummer, but I also really love how much you already love Bobbi. Most people don’t get a proper feel for her until the next 2 eps.
I also appreciate that they are calling her Bobbi. It bothers me a little when people keep just calling her "Gunny" for seasons and seasons.
I have to say that it was really cute how you reacted when the guy mentioned the equation. If I remember correctly you two study (or studied?) math right? I was awful at math and I finished high school almost a decade ago so I don't remember much about math but to me that was just letters and numbers, did you understand something of that?
The Drake equation is a real thing, and I've always had a similar thought about it as Janus (the J is silent). Not that I don't think there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, I definitely do. But given how short a time humans have existed relative to the age of the universe, let alone how short a time we've been broadcasting signals, we may be just as distant in time as we are in space.
Sorry girls , but this show doesn't go downhill . Slows down maybe a little in season 4 , but for a reason and probably because season 3 is so amazing and its hard to follow that performance . However season 5 and then 6 are back full speed ahead .
Her dry manner is simply convincing. That's why she's my favorite character.
For the Martians, it's not just Earth's gravity that does a number on them. After living in domes or underground their entire lives, stepping out under a wide open sky can be pretty disorienting, as well as panic inducing since stepping out of a sealed environment would mean death back home.
It still makes me go “awww” everytime I watch these eps and Bobbi sees a bird lol
