I think the issue fans have with armin or even hange is that everyone has been expecting them to figure out another way to end this conflict, but we ain’t getting anything. At least zeek and eren have a plan, maybe a cruel one but still they are moving towards something.

I personally don't think that a character who has no quality other than thinking war crimes funny and being so smug is hated just because he killed a fan favorite character. It would be too simplistic.

Personally I would continue with the Bluray version. I had compared the differences with the TV version, and had not seen any issues, only improvements.

Maybe it's just me, but it's so refreshing to see reactors not simp like crazy over the characters but really take time to understand their motives and how tragic they are. Their line about Eren's 8-pack being built on trauma and tears was gold! Probably my favorite reactors to this series

Isn’t it funny how armin once said “those who can’t abandon anything can’t change anything” and now he has killed the most civilians and children, HOWEVER he still so badly wants a peaceful solution. He’s the worst monster with the greatest humanity in the show.

How is it even possible for a show to be so good that just a scene of people sitting down and talking to each other can have you on the edge of your seat not just once but TWICE?! Not many shows can have insane action moments that are super intense and still have freaking character conversations that top those action scenes in intensity. This series is just not another level.

Info about the movie (no spoilers): The person who leaks the information is someone reliable since he also did it with the previous season and he was right in everything. This person has very specific information, such as that the new season will adapt until chapter 131 of the manga (the manga ends in 139). The new season will have between 12 and 14 chapters, and though the guy has not confirmed a film that adapts the rest, he believes that it is most likely. If you put Eren in Gabi's position he will do the same, that's it. I have said this on Youtube before, people tend to ignore the fact that Reiner's mom has a huge impact over Gabi. Reiner's mom is obessed with being Honorable Marleyan. Her son is a warrior that made her proud, Gabi admires Reiner that much, and people don't see how much harder would Reiner's mom "Brainwashes" Gabi for her entire childhood? Besides Gabi and Eren are essentially same person. People who hated a character that much that even takes part in real life are just Nicolo in that restaurant scene, you gotta look deeper into the character and the enviorment, like what Sasha's father did. Maybe thats why Elders are more wisdom xD

From my limited experience, I think the Gabi hate has slowed down a bit especially compared to when episode 8 was airing. I remember gabi’s name was trending on Twitter for a week and people wanted to do things to her (too disturbing to say what), & if you actually go on YouTube…you’ll find a 3 million views video of Gabi getting beat on a 1 hour loop. It’s horrific. So I do think that the Gabi hate has died down a bit from that day…but it’s still there obviously.

I think a lot of people find it hard to separate a character from their actions, like this character did a bad thing, therefore they are a bad character and I don’t like them. Or in the reverse, people liked Walter White, and then later were still morally on his side despite his actions, because he was one they liked so he was good and remained good despite anything that came later. It’s like ‘Gabi did a bad thing, so the show is telling me she is bad and I hate her’.

I agree with you Lola. I don't understand the whole "Chad" Eren, or "sexy season 4" Eren being better than previous seasons Eren. Season 4 is like a whole test of how fucking sad can you get over Eren's character. I remember the first time I watched it I was SO upset over what he did and I was a lot less sympathetic towards his character than you are. I understand his struggle and how difficult of a mental state he was in, but I could never sympathize with his choice as an ADULT to wage war on behalf of all of paradise. Rewatching it now, I definitely have more sympathy for him but still, seeing the lovable, loyal, fighter Eren from previous seasons turn into THIS leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth and for that I can never get over my sadness over Eren's downfall.

I think the frustration with Gabi is that even after seeing for her own eyes the truth- That people on the Island are the same and not all devils. Her brainwashing is too deep and she refuses to adjust her views. Showing someone real evidence and them still refuse to believe it is annoying haha But understandable for a kid

I understand why there would be Yeagerists, with all the horrors Marley put Paradis through, but I just can't see eye to eye with them. Paradis has now the Beast Titan, the Founding Titan, the Colossal Titan, and the Rumbling. Even with Marley's remaining titans (hell even if Eren and co hadn't attacked) Paradis would have the clear advantage. At least assuming they could actually activate the rumbling. And if it weren't for Eren's intervention confirming his words, how the hell was Willy going to convince the world to invade? Some of them were getting slaughtered by Marley mere weeks earlier!

I'd also suggest you just stick to the Blu Ray version!

honestly sasha's dad establishes one of the main messages in this show and it's that as long as you venture into the "forest" you're subjected to killing or even being killed. And in that forest is a place where the cycle of war/violence continues and it's inevitable, you can't stop it, just like how animals instinctively eat each other and it's generally a dangerous place. the message was to prevent children from entering it, from teaching them right ways from wrong and preventing them from joining that world of violence. and it holds true throughout the series. the reality is violence is inevitable, war is inevitable, as long as the human race exists but it's the adult's responsibility to shoulder that burden and teach younger generations to stay away from that, to be less reactive and more logical. also ppl who hate gabi have a very VERY biased narrow minded point of view that levels with floch, ppl who refuse to understand complexities of characters and look at things objectively. team jeagerists are just floch supporters who THINK they're team eren bc they're not as intelligent as you lovelies and misinterpret his character GREATLY. it's why the fandom is very toxic, it's filled with facists, racists even anti-semetics and it's sick and twisted

Attack on Titan is such a perfect match for you guys and your channel. It's also enhanced my own appreciation of the show and story. Being able to empathize with all the characters is important to truly get the meaning of the show and you guys just get it in a way that a lot of others don't. It helps having the discussions and stopping to ask yourself why a character does what they do. Isayama is brilliant and everything is intended and it's just great to see other people who understand the show fully. ❤️

the jeagerist discussion is interesting, especially with the balkan background (crazy how much a story built ostensibly in reference to chinese and japanese relations resonates with so many other places in the world like the balkans, guess it's all just people no matter where you go :)) but i think you don't give the jeagerists enough credit: they aren't just obviously incorrect xenophobic caricatures, some part of them is reacting rationally to what is not just hypothetical but concrete impending doom. wily and the world declared war on them. they were coming to eradicate the island even without eren stepping in in liberio. though analogous to real life conflicts to a degree, this fact changes the dgeree to which you can just assert that they are morally compromised imo. are they meant to just lay down and die because there's fewer of them? that's sort of the central question of the conflict now. to what extent does the utilitarian justification for the rest of the world surviving override the ostensibly equal moral principle of paradis surviving.

The Gabi hatred is basically people not paying attention to the show. In a manner you could say this is the writer’s intent, that at first they (the audience) do get swept away with emotion when “our characters” experience loss or pain but then the audience should dial back when confronted with the reasons and the whole picture. Gabi literally says it here, which seems to be a direct line to the audience “People I cared about were killed by Sasha too”. And you know the funny thing is, Gabi is just the audience being shown the mirror. That “this” is what you all look like if you are just fervently sticking to a side. The kicker here is that even Gabi’s mental walls crumble after episode 11 and they are defo crumbling here, so it’s a wonder that the audience’s (the anti Gabi ones) isnt. Like literally Gabi seems to be more dimensional than some of the Gabi haters.

I think Floch has one thing that both he and Eren has the same opinion on. They both see how urgent it is to act and that they don’t have time to wait and think but act now that I think Floch and Eren has in common. So Eren and Floch have the same opinion of how little time they can allowed to be wasted. Floch thinks Eren has the same goal as him and he sees Eren as Paradise’s only hope for victory and Eren as the one who should lead them.

By "team jaegerists" people are indeed referring to Floch's faction. They're named like that because they (nominally) follow Eren. But you're also right in saying we don't 100% know Eren's intentions, and how much they align with Floch's. Blu ray is totally fine.

When I first saw the season 4 intro I thought the scene of the soldiers marching emulated Marley, which seems to be inspired by the Nazi German marching under the Arc de Triumph. But with the context of what’s going on in the show, the soldiers/their uniforms actually look closer to Yeagerists. Maybe it’s just me but I enjoyed this re-contextualización

As a manga reader, I think there will be 12-14 episodes of the show for part 2 and I would be surprised if they do anything beyond that. No movie imo.

Yeagerists are basically people who sympathize with Floch´s mentality, either because they want to find a solution to the conflict to ensure their survival by means of the Rumbling (a genocide), because they look for revenge, or because of the way they want to portrait Eren as a savior. There are real people who side with this mindset.

I don't know what that does to a person..." it is called 'survivors guilt', which is quite common in soldiers who experienced something like this. it usually involves people becoming emotionally unstable. it is often paired with PTSD. in Floch's case, he became emotionless.

I don't think there's much difference between the two versions, its mostly small things like some of the colors had their tones changed and some shadows/blurs were added (if I had to choose I would say the Blue-ray looks better)

After watching this episode I really started appreciating first few episodes of Season 2 because when our characters in S2 go to the Utgaurd Castle they find wine there and they wonder how did these supplies got here. After this episode we connect that it was Zeke and the rest staying there. So good.

Please if have a way to you watch and post for patreon the episode 14 and 15 together, will be very good and makes total sense. Both of the episodes complete each other

Hmm, I think you are not entirely correct about Levi. Remember that he can be ruthless when the situation requires him to be. He did hurt and kill people, a lot of them. He's not some kind of pacifist, he just really hates WASTING lives. He maimed and tortured Sannes and he killed Kenny's people. In the manga, he was ruthless towards Historia (not a spoiler, that's something that should have already happened in season 3 part 1, but was cut out). He follows Erwin, because he believes in him. If Levi hadn't been willing to sacrifice lives, he never would have agreed to Erwin's plans. The scene with Zeke was not about Levi not agreeing with the "end justifies the means" attitude, he was pissed because Zeke didn't seem to have any regrets. Levi also does what he feels has to be done, even if it's cruel, but he always cares, he's never unfazed by it, always doubting whether he did the right thing. And that's what is so amazing about him. Remember what he said to Jean when Armin killed a person for the first time.

I personally think Armin is a bit useless in this season... I mean, what has he really done? For this we let Erwin die? I really liked Armin, but I don't think that this is his best season. Mikasa was always really boring to me. I don't really know how to describe her... She likes Eren and is a good fighter and then theres nothing else left. She is often presented as a good female character, i never understood why. So for me its Eren all the way.
