I do believe -- fundamentally and really deep down -- that it is possible for somebody to change, and that what they've done in their past doesn't have to define them. ....BUT it takes more than just stopping doing the evil things that you used to do. You need to start DOING GOOD. And "good" could have a very wide range of meanings here. For Barry, I think "doing good" might include turning himself into the police and confessing his past actions. This might give some measure of closure to Gene and Janice's family, and the families of everybody else he has killed. Or "doing good" might be him trying to stop the ongoing criminal activities of the multiple criminal organizations that he has a working familiarity with. That might prevent further harm from happening to other people. Or "doing good" might be ANYTHING. But whatever it is, that's what has to happen before "change" can occur. I love the glimpse we get at Sally's reel here, because there really are countless actresses out there who have careers spanning decades where it's just hundreds of roles as "Wife", "Mother", "Girl #3", "secretary in office", etc. To the people who haven't even gotten on-screen at all yet it looks like 'suceeding', but it also really highlights how limited the opportunities are and how pigeonholed women can be in the entertainment industry. If we ever get to watch the series "GLOW" (highly recommended) it has another great perspective on what it's like to be a woman trying to be an actor.
