Rin Amai had that moment where he told himself to warn Itadori not because it was a trap but because his whole life he's been spectating people getting hurt around him, not stopping Yuji from going was for him the same as enabling the bullies to torment others, he blames himself for not saying what is right, he also wishes to apologize and thank Yuji whom he admires a lot

SB · September 7, 2026

I hope you include Code Geass, RWBY, The Legend Of Vox Machina, World Trigger, My Hero Academia, Danmachi and ReZero in the anime poll because they’re sooo good

M
Mr. Every · September 7, 2026

I think they need a nice wholesome show after something like JJK. Something like Made in Abyss for some light hearted fun

M
Mr. Every · September 7, 2026

the episodes from now on will have a lot of exposition during action scenes. Please don't worry about missing anything in episode 9 or 11.

T
Travis · September 6, 2026

Presentation wise I think this is the best episode of JJk <3

L
Lau · September 5, 2026

this and next episode are my favourites in the season, i truly cannot wait for the next reaction!!

L
Lau · September 5, 2026

this could be you if you considered the best romance, drama, found family, character driven, supernatural show out there for the next long anime: https://imgur.com/WmMwI2O (credits to Defensive Onion on discord)

so sad that fruits basket is probably not gonna make it to the poll ): please consider it and watch it without a poll :)

Steins gate mentioned in the intro, the copium in me is swelling. Steins gate is so short and sweet

J
Jeffrey Navia · September 5, 2026

fucking masterpiece, this episode. my favorite non action ep of this season for sure!!! and higuruma is such an interesting character and everything that led up to him participating in the culling games!!! the storyboards and key animation and DIRECTING were all done by one person, if i remember correctly. correction: storyboards and directing was done by same guy, but ALL the key animation was done by one person which is very impressive haha

M
Mr Krabs · September 5, 2026

you can call hi "higgy" if higuruma is too much and "kenny" instead of kenjaku

T
Tsunemori Kiriko · September 5, 2026

I think you are still way too optimistic about Japan’s criminal justice system, and even this episode is still pretty restrained in its criticism of it. For example, Lola talked about the idea that “prosecutors only take someone to court after they’ve gathered enough evidence and are convinced that person is guilty, which is why Japan has a 99% conviction rate.” But that’s not the case. The system is perfectly capable of producing wrongful convictions with zero physical evidence and zero eyewitness testimony. Just Google "the Gotemba case" and you’ll see what I mean.

F
Flubbedsquid · September 5, 2026

Yep. If you get arrested or questioned in Japan, you're guilty. To say otherwise would be to imply that Japan's beautiful and functional criminal justice system made a mistake. This is a culture where businessmen go on TV and apologize for raising prices. Trust and accountability are supreme. How could anyone trust the police if they got the wrong guy? Solution: the police NEVER get the wrong guy. If they get you, you're the right guy, and they'll put you in a room without a lawyer and interrogate you until you're worn down and exhausted and accidentally say something that could self-incriminate. There was a woman, Keiko Aoki, whose house burnt down, killing her daughter. The police held her and interrogated her for hours, asking leading questions, asking her if she wanted to apologize to her daughter. Grieving and exhausted after an entire day in an interrogation room, Keiko said she did. That was enough proof to bring her to court for arson and murder, and she spent 20 years behind bars before activists got her out.

Btw I’m pretty sure it’s not the jjk higher ups that kenjaku is talking to. We see the higher ups in that orange light the end of season 2 when yuta speaks to them. Also the higher ups have sentenced geto/kenjaku to death.

Б
Богдан Басов · September 5, 2026

Btw, as soon as I know, there is no information about a continuation except for the cover. So girls, I wouldn't have high hopes for January. I'd assume it'll be a while until we get a new season. Probably half a year after January would be the most optimistic case. 🥺

S

Please pick Takopi next, 6 episodes it’ll take 3 weeks 🙏

This episode actually highlights some real issues within Japan’s legal system. The claim that around 99% of prosecuted cases result in guilty verdicts is true. There is a strong level of public trust in the legal system, which can create pressure for authorities to solve cases and identify someone responsible. As a result, once a suspect has been detained and prosecuted, there can be a strong presumption that they are guilty. This pressure to maintain public confidence and avoid leaving crimes unresolved can make it especially difficult for defendants to prove their innocence, even when there is significant evidence supporting their case.

G
Gaboxxy · September 5, 2026

suspects are also often detained indefinitely without the right to a phone call or a legal defendant and pressured into giving a confession that incriminates them. This can go on for weeks or even months in some cases, until the accused gives in. It's borderline psychological torture. By the time they can finally get legal counseling, they are already going against a legal statement given under duress that incriminates them, so the chances of winning are slim. It's almost like in Japan the burden of proof shifts: anyone prosecuted for a crime is guilty until proven innocent.

R

Next ep is definitely my favourite

.
.Mvnk · September 4, 2026

yay lola team kaguya sama for the next poll❤️

M
My Toasty Toast · September 5, 2026

I LOVE Kaguya Sama but I wonder if it, like Spy x Family, is too episodic for a reaction. Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t complain at all if it won a poll

S
Shivering King Banana · September 4, 2026

Japans 99% conviction rate is tricky phrasing. It makes it sound like Japan is hard on crime but in reality many crimes go unpunished. The conviction rate is only about cases that go to court. Only open and shut cases or high profile cases go to court. While the more difficult to prosecute cases like rapes are ignored.

Be careful about the short anime slot. We have: - Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 (Jan 2027 - Mar 2027 or Apr 2027 - Jun 2027) - Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Part 2 (Apr 2027 - Jun 2027) - Frieren Season 3 (Oct 2027 - Dez 2027) - Haikyuu OVA + Movie (2027) - Bocchi Season 2 (2027) - Chainsaw Man Season 2 Part 1 (2027) Maybe next year you have to use the Long anime slot for short anime.

I
Infeight · September 5, 2026

Unfortunately we are not seeing Chainsaw man anytime soon. Production is complicated there. Maybe 2028

I find it really interesting how Gege sometimes brings critique of real society through Nanami's, Nobara's and Higuruma's past; the jjk society as a whole and how it lets character's die in Shibuya, but also normal missions, and takes away youth of the kids like pretty much every character from jujutsu high but particularly Satorou and Suguru, but with those three he seems to want to be really clear about what it is he critiques. Furthermore, one has to love the trio of Nanami, Suguru and Higuruma whom get overworked in systems that don't care for them, but they remain for a sense of justice. It feels like Gege wants to say he believes doing good in an inherently bad system doesn't work, the systems need to be reformed. I'm no expert on Japanese law but I've heard that part of why the conviction rate is as high as it is, is due to detainment being very harsh, I've seen and heard of some detainment bordering on human rights violations. I'm sure everyone felt the lack of women with bobs in this season but Thankfully Gege gave us Higuruma's assistant. On a different note, is there a world where Skip and Loafer or Hibike Euphonium get chosen? or just any kyoani show? or kind of any classic? <3

R
Robert Dirk H. · September 4, 2026

I don't like Steins;Gate (I think it could be better when you cut the story down to 12 episodes), but I would vote for it in a poll just so it's finally over :D

S
SwampFox95 · September 4, 2026

I knew they would love this part.

R
Robert Dirk H. · September 4, 2026

Give Takopi 3 weeks after JJK before you start the next Long anime :(

T
Tiber Septim · September 4, 2026

I didn't even finish Stein's Gate but I'll vote for it at this point

Y
Yoshi444 · September 4, 2026

Just saying that if Steins;Gate (without Zero) wins the next poll, it'll be finished by mid-December, and if Kaguya-sama: Love is War wins, it'll be finished by early February. Apothecary Diaries is a bit more complicated because it will have a new season airing this October, and if it wins, we'd be going straight through until July 2027. Even so, all three options are excellent. Personally, I'd love Kaguya-sama because it's my favorite oat, and Steins;Gate because it's been in the polls for four years now

H
HoseIDK · September 4, 2026

I saw that you were considering *Kaguya-sama: Love Is War* for the next poll, and I love that show—it's so funny.

As a public defender, this is by far the most accurate depiction of public defense life I've ever seen. Gege 100% has a close friend that is/was a PD, because this is freakily nuanced and accurate in terms of all of the issues touched upon in this episode.

D
Darrach · September 4, 2026

Higuruma is so compelling from the moment we see his backstory. My favourite character introduced in this season. I love when Gege clearly feels a certain way about an aspect of Japanese society or culture, and critiques it via his character work and his writing. We’ve seen it a number of times now: Junpei and bullying, Nobaras home town, Nanami and his corporate job, Higuruma and the legal system, the ‘higher-ups’, the Zen’in Clan and misogyny. And on and on it goes.

b
bondbond53 · September 4, 2026

Fun Fact: The 19 y.o driving over a person that the women mention in their conversation about Higuruma's past is the same guy that Yuji and Megumi find in the detention centre back in episode 4 of season 1. You know, the one whose mother asks them to save, but he's already dead, and Megumi and Yuji have their first big argument about saving someone's life. Love this so much

L
