The first time I read the chapter where masamichi is killed i couldn't stop crying. And then Pandas final line? It was a bad week lmao
Hakari being Serbian is so funny to me. I didn't know that about your country
Imo this is not a show that really cares about storytelling after a certain point. The whole discussion about seeing Maki become a different character and how she deals with having lost Mai made me very sad due what I know is coming
You’re just chatting just to chat
So many comments being hidden I assume it has something to do with Kirara. Now im curious so ill just say from what I have seen Kirara is not confirmed trans as far as I know the only evidence people bring up is that Hakari likes women which for me is not confirmation I don't personally care but if somebody else can determine someone elses gender doesn't that go against the whole movement? just my 2 cents...
My capricious goat Hakari has arrived!!!
About Hakari's grade: He is never officially confirmed to be a Special Grade sorcerer, but that doesn't necessarily reflect his actual level of strength. He exists somewhat outside the traditional Jujutsu High system after coming into conflict with its higher-ups and being suspended. It's also worth noting that the jujutsu higher-ups are portrayed as extremely conservative. They favor traditional cursed techniques and tend to look down on modern, unconventional ones — and Hakari's technique (no spoilers) is exactly the kind of ability that doesn't fit their traditional view of jujutsu. This doesn't mean the manga explicitly states that Hakari lacks a higher grade because of his technique, but it does give important context for why his official status shouldn't be treated as a straightforward measure of his strength.
Stop treating JJK like it needs to have everything completely fleshed out and explained to you as a viewer. JJK is the epitome of show and don't tell, you should really be viewing it like you are a fly on the wall similar to the Hakari scene but with everything you are shown. JJK is a series of events that are out of control, the characters don't get time to mourn and move on so we don't either. Remember Mahito's speech about this not being a fairy tale. The higher ups and Kyoto principal are authoritarian conservatives and Hakari is a progressive so the story is showing you how they are using the chaos to further their ideals
Loved the reaction as always, just wanted to give a few extra info/cool stuff about this and last episode (Spoiler FREE obviously). Sorry for the length but theres just so much stuff About Episode 4 (these are more hidden but add a lot to the episodes emotional weight) -The geese we see at the start of the episode are migratory birds that change nesting location often and, when they do, they bring a piece of their old nest with them to start building their new home with and to symbolise a new beginning. -The title 'Perfect Preparation' is referring exactly to that, as we see Mai giving a piece of hay to Maki as a parting gift to wish her good luck on her new journey, truly alone for the first time, but at the same time to carry a piece of her old home (Mai) with her, that same piece will turn into her new weapon created by Mai, hence Maki referring to it as 'Mai' -You can also see the perfect formation the front geese (the men of the Zenin) are following, signifying the strict rules and traditions of the clan, while two geese are left behind and cast away (Maki and Mai) -When Maki goes to kill her mother at the very end, she finds her in the kitchen with the stove on and in the midst of cooking a meal, she was actually being forced (as a woman) to prepare food for the fighters comeback after they killed her daughters -In that same scene we see Maki ask her 'why did you tell me to come back?', referring to the start when she tries to stop her from entering the vault, because she didnt want her husband to kill her daughters, despite having no say in the matter -Makis mother is the same woman we see in episode one walking behind Naoya and serving him, so it was also nice seeing her get her personal revenge, in fact, when she ultimately dies, she finally feels free from her oppressive clan and her true feelings show, love and gratitude towards her two daughters for giving the Zenins what they deserved -You noticed but the fighting portion of the episode is indeed a massive reference to Kill Bill! About Episode 5 -Gakuganji (Guitar old man) is affiliated with the higher ups himself as we saw in season 1, so its not a matter of if he believes the higher ups or not. He knew Yaga well, so he likely already knew the truth about Panda and the situation -Takeru (The yellow kid-doll) was made with the soul of the kid we saw (Kusakabes nephew) and likely the ones of his two other siblings, whose empty beds you can see when we are shown the image of the kid (its just a theory but many fans believe the 3 kids, and maybe the father, died in an accident, leading the mom to fall into severe depression, hence Yaga making the doll and Kusakabe being in debt with him). Yaga is also hiding him and the other cursed corpses in that forest-like place inside Tengens barriers to not let the higher ups know he can make them whenever he wants -The scene with Hakari and Yuji talking is 'weird' because it was entirely Rotoscoped, basically two animators acted out the scene themselves and then traced the characters on top later on!
Yuta called Hakari stronger than him but then immediately Maki said that's impossible. In my opinion just Yuta is very humble and praises Hakari a lot as a senior
you guys def need to watch code geass
100%
Fun fact: Kirara is trans (in earlier Flashbacks in season 1 I believe, she was depicted or refered to as male because gojo hasnt seen her for such a long time). When this episode came out, there were so many homophobic people on TikTok and other socials desperately trying to defend Hakari as their “GOAT” while being aggressively anti-gay 😭 The funniest part is that they’ve basically backed themselves into a corner: either they accept that Kirara is trans, or they have to accept that their „GOAT“ Hakari is gay (if they don’t view Kirara as a woman (transphobic)). Because if Kirara is a woman, then Hakari is dating a woman; if Kirara is a man, then Hakari is gay. Either way, something about their worldview is getting challenged 💀 It’s so funny to me how the author played all those homophobic fans
You guys live way too much on internet ngl, legit for both side who care
kirara and hakari are here !!! i personally don't have many gripes with jjk, but i do agree that yaga's death was done with much too quickly. the quick deaths definitely make the show feel more realistic; as the world doesn't stop just because someone dies irl, but i do think yaga's death deserved a little bit more time dedicated to it
The other principal is one of the higher ups, gojo mentioned it in one of the earliers seasons
On one hand this episode is another that did a character dirty. On the other hand, we got our Trans Queen Kirara
Calling Hakari dramatic...is an understatement
Hakari watches too many alpha male podcasts
I know they’ve said they’ll never watch it, but if they really want a show that takes its time and goes deep into the emotions of its characters, I honestly think they’d end up loving Demon Slayer. It isn’t my favorite, and I understand why people have problems with it, but if there’s one thing it does really well, it’s making you care about its characters and giving almost every one of them emotional depth.
I respectfully disagree, quite a bit.
im seated
ALWAYS BET ON HAKARI
Yaga's death in the manga was only 1 chapter and was also criticized for being too short. So I agree with you that we should have had a longer send off for him. It's definitely up there among one of the most poorly executed deaths in this show. Regarding the old principal, in s1 he told Yaga "rules of society should not be bent for one individual even if it's right". So despite being a principled man he is an incredibly conservative yes man. The higher ups were only briefly shown in JJK 0 while Gojo was discussing Yuta's execution. It's safe to say they are old power hungry fools who are only alive because Gojo said he didn't want to pave the way for a new Jujutsu society through blood and chose education instead. The excuses they have set up for Gojo, Geto(kenjaku), Yaga and Yuji's execution is all basically for show. They are just using Gojo's absence to remove any opposing force once and for all. Since you watched the next episode I can also say you can see how opposed they are to even a shred of uncertainty and change and expelled students like Hakari and Kirara because of their unique techniques. Any change in the jujutsu society and the emergence of new phenomena scares them because they're just helpless old fools seeking to stay in power while others have to clean up the curses and suffer. Also the word "passion" in this episode is actually a slight mistranslation. The better word Hakari uses is "Fever". I think his monologue sounds way cooler with Fever as the translation.
This^
The order of Yaga's execution being bullshit is the point. They don't give a shit about accountability or a trial. This is a blatant consolidation of power and is carried out ruthlessly without regard for human life. The higher ups are simply garbage that stand at the pinnacle only with concern for self-interest.
Yaga done so dirty 🐼
ITS OUR TRANS QUEEN KIRARA LETS GOOOOOOOO
Bruh
none of them believe the principal or Gojo are wholly responsible truly, this is about power and deep seeded resentment for them specifically
That longshot for the Yuji Hakari conversation is just so incredibly cool
LMAO LOLA IS PISSED ABOUT YAGA 😭😭😭
you guys should get into the fate series
"Who's Jesus?" – Yuji Itadori
literally 😭
I genuinely don’t know any other anime that can kill so many interesting characters, move on like it’s nothing, and then just introduce another group of interesting characters right behind them. 😂 I used to think JJK did things way too quickly and that it didn’t make sense, but honestly, I think it makes the world feel more realistic. A lot of anime and shows will make every death super dramatic and milk it for tears. And while I understand that, death doesn’t always work like that. Sometimes people die and life just keeps moving. Especially in a world as dangerous as JJK, it makes sense. The cast we revolve around has drastically changed since Season 1, a bunch of fan-favorite characters are gone, and yet the show is still amazing because JJK somehow never fails to introduce characters you end up loving.
chainsaw man does it pretty often too lol
Just seeing you guys upload really makes a day better🥹
RIGHT WHEN IM GETTING HOME, THANK YOUUU💗
