Hi guys! Where is the edited version of this chapter? I like to watch also the anime with the reaction
They still haven鈥檛 spotted the Choso-Ball 馃ズ
Fun fact: The "Kukuru Unit" of the Zen'in is probably named after Mt. Kukuru, the home of the Zoldyck family in HxH. They're also a horrible family that Killua dreams of escaping/capturing, so it's a nice parallel.
FINALLY, THE TRUE CINEMA IS HERE 馃檹
Yeah, I also had the same complain about the shitty music choice. Same as some Japanese audiences at the release of the episode.
Hmm, this being done within a single episode I don't think appeals to just people who "might not have connected with the 2 sisters". I think there is a very sound reason/logic to why it was done this way and I think I understand why. Firstly, remember the episodes release weekly. A week is a long time to pass for emotions to remain the same and carry over into the next episode. First part of the episode you feel grief and loss for what happened to Mai. Had the episode ended with just that, the anger and grief you feel for her loss would've turned to Enjoyment/Anger in the subsequent episode where Maki would eliminate her clan, instead of feeling the Rage and the sense of Rightful Justice you feel with tears still in your eyes from what just transpired prior because it was all within the same episode. I think the show director was very smart in his choice to keep it all in the same episode because he wanted the exact emotional range you got when watching it. You start with grief for the tragedy of her death, then you feel a sense of justice with tears still in your eyes for Maki achieves by the end, which if you think about it is basically what Maki herself would be going through. Anyways, that's just my take on it. It remains one of my favorite episodes in the anime so far because of how it was done. The only criticism I initially had was their music choice when she begins the fight, but I came to like even that after a rewatch because it was a mockery of their clan, especially when the Hei show up to heroic music beats from their PoV and get obliterated instantly.
The whole point is that you don't even get to have an enjoyment, there is no rightful justice. The whole clan is destroyed, yes, but she lost Mai in the process. That's why the song choice was so damn jarring and innapropriate. You weren't suppose to feel a sense of that at all. Just anger, grief and sadness that even though Mai finally got the power to destroy the clan it was at the cost of Mai. All that other shit is just cope by people forcing themselves in to enjoying the shit music choice.
MAKI THE GOAT
