The creators have gone out of their way over and over again to say that they're focusing on new stories and not planning to adapt the comics which is proven by every project they've come out with so far and proven by he leaked synopsis for the scrapped Zuko movie focusing on adult Zuko instead of teenage comics Zuko. Please react to the comics there are even voiced motion comic video versions of it on yt you could watch if you don't want to read. Azula is a MASSIVE focus of the plot of the comics, you will love it.

Only aspect of this movie I found disappointing was that we only really got to see funny guy Sokka and not the brilliant tactician. Especially in a story where non-benders are the enemy they could've really leaned on Sokka as a counterpoint to their beliefs. Felt like a missed story opportunity, but then again pretty much everyone not named Aang was just kinda there so it's not soley a Sokka issue. (Still love the movie tho)

sorry out of context but does jjk next ep drop today ?

Avery · August 20, 2026

I think they normally do JJK, the bear, Neon Genesis/HOTD, then JJK again. So we might have to wait until Saturday unless they do a double drop :(

Gonna go on a bit of a Kind of irrelevant tangent... I was a fan of voltron: legendary defenders as a kid and followed the show very closely and had so much hope for it, so when it ended so horribly that to this day I still get mad over it it's impossible to ignore the people behind the show who butchered a show you love so much right... anyway so I watched this movie a few months back with my best friend who was also a fan of voltron, and throughout the movie we kept thinking "This is fun, but there's something about it that I just can't put my finger on... Something is Off..." imagine the look on our faces when this movie ended and the first name we see in the credits is Lauren Montgomery, the same woman who was partially responsible for the horrible ending of a show that we spent years obsessing over. It was honestly one of the funniest things to have happened to me, my friend and I couldn't stop laughing upon seeing her name because OF COURSE while watching this movie we felt like something was off... Anyway, I recently finished binging your guys' avatar reactions so I was so happy to get this notification... I love these characters so much and I'm looking forward to the new avatar show!!!!

It feels incredibly nostalgic to see these characters again as adults. I really enjoyed how their personalities and relationships have developed. I especially love Toph and Zuko. Toph still has that completely unapologetic confidence and chaotic energy that makes it so much fun to watch her. Zuko instead has grown into the role of Fire Lord. He is a much more mature. Seeing him interact with the rest of the group again was one of my favorite parts of the movie. The animation is also fantastic. There are also so many small details throughout the movie for longtime fans. You can tell that the creators know how much these characters and this world mean to the fans. I also really like how they portray Aang and Katara as a realistic couple in their early twenties. Their relationship feels more natural than it did when they were young teenagers. But I would like to offer a bit of criticism: 1. Suki is part of Team Avatar. If the Fire Lord has time to leave his throne for an adventure with the Avatar, then so does Suki. That she did not receive an invitation from Aang, only appears in the end credits as a background character, and is completely cut out in the recap of the tv show around minute 9, makes me so incredibly angry. She was part of the team, part of the final battle, but she is just cut out! Even the foam-spitting guy from Kyoshi Island has more screen presence, which is ridiculous. 2. Sokka is more than just the tech-savvy and inventive class clown. I love that side of him, but reducing him to only that misses an important part of his character. He is also a warrior, a strategist and someone who worked hard to become a better fighter. I want to see him fight with his sword. Master Piandao saw in him the potential of a swordsman greater than himself, and that should matter. Sokka’s humor is important, but so is the growth he went through. 3. As much as I like the story in the movie, I do not like the order in which Avatar Studios decides to produce their movies and series. I am still expecting a Book 4: Peace, which would be a final epilogue season for The Last Airbender, adapting the comics The Promise, The Search, The Rift, Smoke and Shadow, North and South and The Spirit Temple. A big chunk of the Avatar fandom still doesn't know the origin story of Republic City, what happened to Zuko's mother, how the Fire Nation people reacted to the end of the war and propaganda, how the conflict between the two Water Tribes arose and how Azula is doing. It is time to finally tell these stories in a TV format, before we get more adult Aang movies. It also bothers me so incredibly much how we keep going further into the future. Of course it is interesting to see what happens after Avatar Korra and how the world will react to the next Earth Avatar in the new show "Seven Heavens" in October 9, but we have so many stories in the past that should be told. Nobody can tell me that a 2-3 season long story in the time of Avatar Sonam wouldn't be a thousand times more interesting. The stories of Avatar Szeto, Yangchen, Kuruk, Kyoshi and Roku, which so far only exist in book form, are also great and on the same level, if not even better. I finally want shows about Avatars in the past. I really recommend the books! https://www.amazon.com/dp/1419771280/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=310LIYWZDXLO3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.GHX6-ra9BafSyMEB2cnPVnkQXey0e7Tc1qyQWPZuRJBqwOTIwdjtHg8icvBYYKK4SuUqT-JoJls38cVRbY1p5E7WIXgCUc-GJqCH2wRqGtDf8bAAfNlR-eh-Lu-T67zxd7ISaIbe9NyM3HSnHztgWxR3ra5kkDOSzc_syCHLJF6s7pQwlzkYcQaKdt01qK5sG3KqZ0JBcjbuZR_EM5fRUw.-IMhryXNEUAuAl_VC6869tBCTuGxotLR07xdUBFIZQw&dib_tag=se&keywords=yangchen+books&qid=1787210961&s=books&sprefix=yangchen+books%2Cbooks%2C203&sr=1-3

This video seems relevant given Steven Yeun voices Zuko in this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYAOqGMBHcs

It was confirmed recently that a movie following Zuko & Azula after the war was scrapped, sorry girls but our beloved franchise is shackled by out of touch corpos so it's hard to say if we will even continue to get more "filler movies" either. It's a complete miracle this movie even saw the light of day, the situation with the theater release actually doesn't have much to do with the leak. While the movie had been produced under the idea that it would be released in theaters, later in it's development Paramount had already decided to pull it from that plan and release it on their own streaming service which was a surprise to the animators themselves. Additionally, Paramount had no plans on releasing the movie on streaming any time in July whatsoever, that specific release is what the leak had an effect on. So while the leak was an unfortunate situation for the studio, ultimately our problems come from up top. Now there's already rumors of corporate interference with the new avatar show releasing in October. We can only hope that one day Avatar Studio’s can separate itself from Nickelodeon & Paramount. Also, yes Avatar Studio’s has confirmed that multiple projects are in development but we have zero information on what those are outside of Avatar: Seven Haven’s so personally I don't have my hopes up of those ever leaving the development phase.

Adapting The Search in a movie with a few changes would be so good! I hope we get it after the Earth Avatar show. I know they currently produce another Water Tribe show under the project name Red Thunder, but maybe they can produce another movie parallel to that? 🥺

Iroh didn't die in the traditional sense. He shed his body to cross over into the Spirit World. This is how he was able to interact with Korra. That's as confirmed as it gets that his end was peaceful

When this was first announced i was so excited, and with every update my excitement got lower and lower and the final nail in the coffin was the announcement that it was going straight to streaming. Having seen it i feel bad for all the artists that worked on this because you could tell this was made for the big screen and for it to be dumped on paramount plus is just disrespectful. I thought the movie was meh, but the visuals were incredible….i have all my hopes on Avatar Seven Havens, i hope it brings life back into this universe 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

yes Milena no matter what the world says, Korra did nothing wrong!!

Korra did nothing wrong as long as we pretend none of the love triangles in s1-s2 existed

I had fun with this movie, though I didn't love it and have some problems with its overall story. Still enjoyed it though!! And I have been looking forward to your reaction to it :)

My Toasty Toast · August 19, 2026

It’s definitely a movie made because an exec somewhere said “hey let’s dust off these toys for a sec to make a quick buck” but if we get more GOOD stories from these characters or this universe because of it I’m happy. Except where they replaced every single voice actor
