When is the next jjk reaction?
Their discussion is always a goldmine regarding geto and gojo and it is going to be fun seeing them catch up and watch it weekly with us when season 4 comes out as they should be done before it
Would now be a good moment to say that they made the Hidden inventory arc a movie last year and there were extras at the end - a bunch of pictures of their school days, having fun, etc. 🥹 you should check them out
It's great that you realized that wasn't Geto. Geto would never ally himself with Curses to help them triumph over sorcerers, even if it meant the deaths of many non-sorcerers. No matter how much he descended into madness, Geto would never unleash anything like the Shibuya Incident.
okay I compiled a lot of satosugu edits in a folder. I manually picked them so i made sure that there were no spoilers. Just wanted to share it here for everyone and you girls :D This is also a way to watch edits without moving your own algorythm https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14X51-DLzhuZ_39wlpaNhUIsDVyn5ZMGR?usp=sharing
🙏🏻 thank you!
Milena Yutas power isn't making curses it's copying techniques. We saw him do it with Inumaki's cursed speech and then Geto said it this episode while talking to Gojo.
THE FACT THAT PEOPLE THOUGHT YOU WOULD ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS SHOW 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That little smile on Gojo's face for the split second be thinks his BF (best friend, obviously) is back and the flood of memories...that shit breaks my heart every time. 💔
With the benefit of hindsight, it's really obvious that season 1 Geto isn't the real Geto once you know him. I mean, in his first scene, he's sitting in a restaurant full of humans and doesn't complain about the monkey smell a single time? Our boy would never.
In regards to the issue of disposal, I think what we're meant to understand is that rather than giving Geto's body to Shoko to dispose of "properly" (embalming, cremating, mummifying, some secret 4th option unique to sorcerers idk), Gojo killed Geto on his own & then buried him himself. In which case it would be super easy to just dig up the grave & take his body out. So Lola is right!
The little faint smile from Gojo when he say “it’s really him” kill me
i love the dubbed version of that line 🥹 in english, it’s “All the information provided by my Six Eyes tells me you're Suguru Geto. But both my heart and my soul know otherwise!" 😭😭
The Brain is a good nickname tbh
If he's the brain then who's Pinky?
An interesting observation about Gojo and Geto is that they’re both always shown to cool and smiling regardless of the situation with one usual exception. Gojo/Geto only get upset and angry when something is wrong with the other one. I also really like how audacious fake Geto is when he asks Gojo if he forgot him already. It’s such a cheeky taunt aimed at Gojo because not only does fake Geto know how strong their relationship is from Geto’s memories, but also his entire plan hinges on Gojo NOT having forgotten Geto.
It's amazing that Geto's VA said "Satoru" different as the brain guy, with way less rolling of the "r", making it sound wrong after hidden inventory.
Anyone else think that Gojo didn't actually stand still for a minute but that years passed in Gojo's mind as his memories of Geto rushed past?
That's precisely what happened
I hope no one spoils this show for them.
18:45 “the destruction of Geto’s character” comment by Milena is one I disagree with. We all love Geto, we do, some more than others but was there really anything left to destroy? You take the emotional and psychological distress the brain puts Gojo through out the way and this is just classic monkey-hating Geto. What happens to the countless people in this episode is what Geto would’ve wanted but on a mass scale. He probably killed more people than the curses here when he exterminated that village. His ideology sought the mass genocide of humanity. In part because he saw them as lower life forms who cause nothing but strain and suffering for the higher life forms. I’m sorry to say but his character was only absolved by an early death. If not for that, he would’ve easily been irredeemable if he achieved even a fraction of his ideal world. His character for me had already fallen down. But maybe Milena meant Geto putting Gojo through all of this would alter her affinity towards him then I would understand. But everything else, standard Suguru behaviour.
Nah, I think they're right. As much as Geto hated humans, he would have never worked with curses, especially ones like Mahito. Geto also loved his fellow sorcerers to the point that he held back when fighting the students in JJK 0. I agree that he was practically irredeemable already but that doesn't mean he didn't have standards or care about certain things.
Geto's tragic life...even after death, his body is being used against his will to fight his best friend.
Regarding how the brain understood Geto-Gojo's relationship: I believe jujutsu society is very small and insular, so it wouldn't necessarily be hard for someone plugged into that society to learn about various figures. Especially for someone like Gojo who was famous in that world from the moment he was born. It's also possible he was trying to obtain Geto's body primarily for the technique; once he obtains the body he is able to retain or reconstruct memories, thus coming to understand the depth of their bond and then formulating this specific plan. Honestly I forget if it's ever explained.
I can imagine that possessing their body somehow grants him memories or something like that
Shoko is both their 3rd friend that was always with them during Hidden Inventory, and the current doctor/mortician for Jujutsu High that we've seen a few times. She handled Yuji's autopsy, studying the transformed humans that Nanami and Yuji killed, etc. The "consideration" that Gojo showed that ultimately led to Geto's body being able to be taken and used was not entrusting her with it's disposal at all, because Gojo thought it would be too cruel to have her do that to their closest friend after he killed him. If it had been handed over to her to autopsy/investigate/catalogue and ultimately completely dispose of as she does for most casualties, it probably would've all worked out, but Gojo didn't want her to see Geto like that.
Another point, say Shoko is given custody of Geto's corpse and prepares it for destruction. Does the enemy simply stop her and kill her? This scenario would permanently leave Gojo on guard for plots using the body. A much harder condition to overcome for this plan. He really did "obtain this body with ease"
bruhhh 😭😭😭 howd u know???😭😭😭😭
can we call fake Geto “stitched up bitch” until we learn their actual name?🙏
Referring to Rika as a battery is so awesome
It says disposed because cremating is the most common way to deal with a body in Japan, but Gojo didnt do that
Love to see it
Its 1am and I got courses tomorrow…today. Im so mad I don’t have time to watch this ep right now 😭
My favorite episode!!!! Finally we get rid of Scamtoru Bozo Now we can see some actually cool characters like Choso
It's so good. The skill that went not only into writing Gojo, making a character as powerful as him so believable, but also coming up with a convincing plan to defeat him using his few established physical and psychological limitations. MAN. And then the music and presentation of the anime elevate it that much higher.
I am constantly in awe of Geto’s VA and the way he manages to sound nothing like Geto when saying ‘Satoru’ in this episode. So devoid of care and warmth that he displayed when voicing Geto in Hidden Inventory. Wow
I think the greeting they use in this episode is the exact same as when Geto shows up to the school in the movie. Geto is practically singing his name in the movie. VA did a great job for sure.
They are about to enter into one of the best arcs in all of anime
It's also crazy that we have only seen geto via flashbacks and have never actually met him in the main story. Instead, we have this "thing" parading getos literal corpse around...
The six eyes is what makes Gojo special, it’s what has set him apart from everyone else his entire life and it’s what makes him the strongest. Him rejecting it because he knows that isn’t Geto in his soul is better than anything we could ever get. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking.
It amazes me how the fake Geto plan makes perfect sense within the story's power system. The only weakness we can find in the strongest sorcerer alive is his humanity, represented through his bond with Geto. We've seen something similar before with Yuji in Season 1. When Todo was helping him better his execution of cursed energy, we saw that the only thing preventing Yuji from reaching greater heights was his emotions. Yuji is one of the few characters who didn't grow up in a sorcerer environment; he was raised as a normal human. That's why he's such a strong representation of the burden sorcerers carry. To use cursed energy at its fullest potential, you have to cast aside your emotions. And Gojo, a man who's supposed to be capable of doing anything, could never not be overwhelmed by emotions at the sight of his best friend, the only person who never treated him as a shield or tool. You can see in his face a for brief moment, he thought Geto had somehow come back, he was even about to smile. Absolutely devastating. The jujutsu world is so cruel, but the way we learn about the love these 2 shared through tragedy, makes it feel so real
No love for the outro 💔
I know :( At least there will be mandatory listens during upcoming episodes
When the chapters first came out we used to call the brain getwo or brain-kun
Even i have questions related to the disposal of Geto's body because why would gojo leave the body in the alley . How did the brain enter the body if it was in possession of Shoko in jujutsu High or was it implied that in between the body retrieval process the brain got to the body first. These things have never been explaned as far as i know. I may be wrong .
I think Gojo was the one to dispose of his body but didn’t think that something like this would happen . He didn’t let Shoko deal with it, she was also his best friend so he was probably trying to save her from that responsibility.
Not sure if they will say this in discussion, but I really like the detail of the brain's liquid(?) running down like its tears on Geto's face
I might have to kms after reading this, wtf
"There is loneliness in being the strongest" exactly. Gojo is such a tragic character </3
Will watch later because VAI BRASIL!!!
The point of Gojo's character isn't his strength. Its his solitude and isolation and the intro proves that, he's just a weapon to them. Not even really a person
Megumi calls him a benefactor “technically” , which implies that there’s more to it than just being a beneficiary and donor relationship. But even if it was just that… benefactor being the first thing that comes to mind for him means that he sees him past being just the strongest or a weapon. When you consider megumi’s personality , Benefactor could also be a roundabout way of saying something like a caretaker or even parent. Yūji calling him a teacher first before anything else also implies the same thing for me. Even if it’s not fully but there are people in the show that see him as a person beyond his power. It’s quite beautiful too that it’s his students who see him that way the most, as he got into teaching partly so no one would ever feel the solitude and isolation Geto felt.
Just for clarification, because it isn't clear. When Fake Geto says he needs a minute for prison realm to take effect, what he meant was a minute of time that passes in the person's mind. Gojo's flashback of all the memories he shared with Geto meant he went through years of his memory. Aka, more than a minute of time that passed in his head.
No,it was never mentioned that it should only be in his memory. If it was a random person and they could hold him in place,it would work the same way as it did. There is no requirement for person to think about smth for 1 minute.
i am most defiently not up to date with the reactions but there is no way i'm not watching this right now
They've been really good. Actually healing my enjoyment of JJK
Honestly i find the first scene of this episode quite sad. Most of Gojo's students are essentially answering Geto's question indirectly and proving him right. They are saying he's Satoru Gojo because he's the strongest and not the other way around. Gojo as a person is being overshadowed by his strength. It's funny that in episode 2x5 Yuji was even surprised that Gojo sleeps. He doesn't seem like a human to them sometimes. That's how the scene appears to me but I think there's an argument to be made that since they mention his other qualities as a person first they ARE actually thinking that being the strongest is just a byproduct of him being Gojo. So i think it's quite an interesting scene that can be interpreted in both directions by the viewer. Gege Akutami, the author of the manga said in an interview that the main message of this series is that no one holds the ultimate truth and each character is guided by their own ethics. So i think interpreting these questions in both ways can be a possibility. As you said, Geto's story was concluded quite well and it was the correct choice by the author to replace him with someone else. I think the rest of the show could have ended up a bit too predictable and boring if it was still Geto as the main villain. The twist itself was setup quite well with many signs in s1. The most telling being that this guy always uses the full name "Satoru Gojo" instead of Satoru when refering to him. Great episode though. It's obviously not true but sometimes i jokingly like to think that the author wrote the entire flashback arc just so he can justify a character he made too overpowered get caught off guard in a believable manner lol.
The way it was framed in the manga makes this idea even more apparent. The loneliness of the strong.
Immediately just off the thumbnail- another L for the people who were saying they wouldn’t like this show because there there isn’t enough writing or character development 😭
yeah, everyone just shitting on JJK the entire time "oh its just an animation fest, oh the girls won't just like mindless fighting", bitch PLEASE. JJK didn't get this popular based just off hype aura and fights. It had compelling characters and storylines.
“My six eyes tell me you’re Suguru Geto. But my soul knows otherwise” Which could mean nothing…
We finally made it!
Will watch right after the Scotland game, should cheer me up
You are my special
EEEEE
Finally!!!!!!!
it's time
Let's go!
