fun fact: Toji's (Megumi's dad) voice actor is the same as Zeke from AOT
Please don’t look at the replies at the commenter below, it has spoilers Edit: it was removed
I hate gojo, so this episode was one of my favorites. A cheap Kakashi knockoff with uchiha-ass eye abilities with infinte plot armour, that's what he is. Toji and Choso have the best character design in the show/manga
I hope this is rage bait. What in the…this is such a surface-level interpretation, bordering on media illiteracy
Copyright problem with video, anyone?
This show is going to traumatize them so bad, Im here for it
Just don't forget that it is a important after credit scene in the next episode.
so i would assume toji is the strongest in terms of physical prowess? who's 2nd, yuji, right? then maki? yuji was breaking olympic records BEFORE he even started using cursed energy to enhance himself
I love that we see their characters essence through showing us, not directly telling us. Like for Gojo, we see how his kindness and care for the younger ones is prominent even here in his school years, through doing things for Riko so she feels protected and happy - not sleeping for days, staying longer at the beach, etc. I feel he’s often mischaracterised as “goofy, strong, and narcissistic” but we’re constantly shown he’s anything but egoistic. Yes, he’s cocky (more so in his teenage years, which is normal as he’s basically superpowerd), but he’s always the one we see ready to side with the young ones, and to protect them.
I hate Toji but that mog is generational
bro mogged his ass so hard that he made gojo evolve
The time has come🥵🫰🏻
Riko's story is so tragic because we all knew, one way or the other, this girl was dying. Megumi's father's first name is Toji, but I'm sure you ladies caught on to that with all these comments loving him, lol.
LEZZ GOOOOO
i like toji so much that i forgot how jarring this all can be
Also.. it’s so bizarre because in the manga I guess you are reading chapter to chapter so when Riko got shot, it wasn’t so shocking but here in the anime they started adding the happy music plus the voice acting .. it’s like they added salt to the wound that it was about to happen lol
what do you mean i was even more shocked in the manga than in the anime, i feel like the build up in the anime was up to something (well i was also knew what happened so...) in the manga it was so abrupt i had to reread it because i thought i was hallucinating
My goat Toji putting that pretty boy into a pack 🚬🔥💨 he is top 5 JJK characters for a reason. Too bad this is the past but hey.. at least I’m not the only one who has him as one of the best characters in this anime.
They recently released official art that Gojo took Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi to the same Aquarium as Riko
Can't wait 3 days for jjk i Need this now
Riko 😭💔 everything in this episode makes me sickkkk I can't wait for the next one.... also, "We are the strongest" Please shoot me
awwwwhhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeaaaaaah!
that n**** Togi
I was enjoying the discussion so much man.. 43:26 no you’re not kidding and you should stand by it. You do think it’s loser behaviour. Do we not understand the traumatic/psychological effects of being raised by people who hate you? Think less of you? What that does to how you see yourself, maki is the exception not the rule, people who are raised in these environments more often than not become rotten people themselves. The idea that he was a boy child so the abusive family could’ve treated him just a bit better than the girl child is such a painful ideal to have. And that the slightly better treatment should mean he becomes a better person is even more like”what”?? That’s not how it works. I’d like to posit a slightly controversial opinion: a boy child that is a failure in a patriarchal traditional family suffers more humiliation, embarrassment, shame and chastisement than a girl child that has similar failings. I think this is the case because a girl child in this environment is not burdened with any real expectations as opposed to the boy child. I would go a bit deeper but I’ve already said a mouthful. Disclaimer: not excusing Toji of agency over his own choices, he’s a horrific individual, just got irked by Lola’s disposition in the discussion about him. “ My own issue”
You do realize that (based on how you sound) you know way more about Toji than the girls at this point of the story? How could they sympathize with him when the only things they know is that he’s a deadbeat father and that he “killed” 2 teenagers for money And idk man, being born and finding out that everyone around you has no “expectations” on your whole being from the get-go will always seem a slightly worse life experience for me, if someone has expectations on you, at the very least you get a chance to prove yourself, while on the other side you get absolutely nothing. To me, Maki and Mai’s experience in comparison to Toji’s are somewhat similar, they’re filled with humiliation and suffering, but the fact that you can name at least 10 zenin men in the show, and only 2 girls (1 for being the “exception” you mentioned and the other being her twin sister) says a lot about how women are seen / treated in that family.
“It’s not a problem, because YOU are here too” “It’ll be fine, WE are the strongest” They truly thought they could do anything together, I’m sick
Getting Toji-mogged while Cry-maxxing in the thumbnail.
Lola saying "I would not bet my money against him" about the man who loses every bet he makes lmao oh the irony
I mean, he's betting on things other than himself when he loses. If Toji was the focus of the bet you would indeed be silly to bet against him.
17:47 : Rika is brain blasted brutally and dies "My boy...." 🥲
Normally I listen to the discussions during work but I can’t wait until Monday
Next week can’t come soon enough I’m so excited for the next episodes. Riko is so tragic because we all know no matter how it ends she’s going to die but the way it happens is brutal. All the aquarium and water parallels with Junpei are so sad considering how they both end
Seeing the strongest character we have (in the future) getting eviscerated by a man without an ounce of cursed energy is such a mind-boggling sight lol
that stab in the neck is so disrespectful 😭😭😭😭
"we are the strongest" to "i am the strongest"
It kinda hurts that they call him Zenin. Not that he deserves respect :P
i do regret that after 204, i think we didnt call him zenin in the review of that one
I clicked on this SOOO fast I almost broke my mouse lmao😭
Just a small detail: Toji is "almost" like Maki. Maki has very little cursed energy in exchange for being strong. Toji has "Zero" cursed energy which makes his heavenly pact even stronger. It's not because he has worked harder than Maki. Also the cursed spirit around Toji is the same one that Geto was using to store his weapons in the movie.
Two very small details that are incredibly easy to miss the first time around They spawn very interesting implications for those perceptive enough to notice
god the waiting game for these episodes is so excruciating
Welcome to the real Jujutsu Kaisen. Everything before now was just a prologue.
This thumbnail is legendary
Toji is the perfect form of Maki
Yeah man how about they hear it from the show not your impatient ass
Finally haha
The scene with Riko enjoying her last day with that beautiful piano music (one of the best pieces I've heard) and then the aquarium is truly special. I think it's a bit hard to understand why Riko was ok with the assimilation at first. Loneliness is a common issue that was introduced in the first episode with Yuji's grandfather asking him to save others so he doesn't end up alone like him. Loneliness is a cliche and overused theme in media but I like the way JJK approaches it from different angles numerous times in the story. It's without a doubt the central theme in JJK. In Riko's case she was told she was "special" from birth and this isolated her from normal people. It's not just that Riko might struggle to relate to her friends with normal lives and parents, it's that sometimes her friends probably can't understand her struggles either and this amplifies that loneliness. Riko wanting to join Tengen and becoming "one" with another person to end that isolation is understandable. Despite that sometimes enjoying the simple things in life (in particular with a couple of similar "special" oddballs like Gojo and Geto) can bring you back to earth. I can't commend the cinematography of this arc enough.
Man Riko and Gojo have so much in common and showcases his loneliness even more even if he is the strongest and therefore all his whims should be able to become a reality
We have never been more back
chat its time
JujutsuCrySen
It begins
I just know the girls are gonna be shocked by the amount of toji glazers in the comments😭😭
Toji's one of those characters that I glaze that I have 0% issue with anyone slandering him
that thumbnail hahaha
Girls I know you look in despair on the thumbnail but you chose one of the hottest Toji screenshots for it... I'm conflicted lmao
