So in the first season of the show, Megumi is 15 while Gojo is 28. The first season takes place in the year 2018. This arc begins in 2006. Gojo is currently 16, & Megumi is currently 3.
Also, you had it correct in previous videos--Tsumiki is Megumi's step sister, not his half sister

Megumi has his biological mother’s last name that’s the one his father took when they got married and then his sister took Fushiguro when her mother married Megumi’s dad I think. Gege always called Megumi’s mother Mamaguro in his notes so I always assumed it’s her name

Not even in my wildest dreams did I think they would enjoy jjk this much, and not only do they love the show, they understand it so well it sometimes feels like they already know stuff, but they are just that smart. They are the GOATs
The incredibles, what Bob said about Flash’s middle school graduation, this is what this comment feels like. LM are genuinely good. “BUT” The discussion was painful to say the least, the theorising with Aot was at least fun, avatar was at least funny, this has been a chore. Every 2 minutes I’m like “what are you even saying?!” This is not to say i understood JJK perfectly on my first watch and I sympathise because this is the curse of being a reactor, your first time thoughts have to be broadcasted to loads of people who are prone to hate like myself. Even so… listening to some of these discussions… they try too hard to figure everything out in one go. Part of the reason why they do this is because you guys are in here gassing up mediocre discussions with “you guys soo smart” I’ve been witness to many great discussions by LM. This was not one of them. Disclaimer: I’m here because I love watching them. This is not a hate comment.

Episodes 39 & 40 (S2E15 & S2E16) weren't updated to the Blu-ray version on Crunchyroll for some reason. Not the biggest deal, but if you'd like to watch them without dimming/ghosting you'll have to use a different source.
im fairly certain its only episode 17 that was updated, and thats the episode people check when trying to inform reaction channels, and then they claim the whole thing is blu ray. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've noticed the dimming on multiple viewings. You're right about episode 15 and 16, but I don't use crunchyroll so I aint gonna check the others.

As many others have said, you should look up a translation of the lyrics when you wrap up this story arc, I think everyone would love to hear your thoughts. Among all the little things in this first episode, one that sticks with me is that Utahime has a large facial scar in the present that she's missing in the past. Not a surprise, but it's a small thing that reinforces that the marathon game of being a jujutsu sorcerer leaves its mark on everyone, in one way or another...

Do we know if they confirmed that they're going to watch the Blu-ray version of episode 17? I know some say it's not important. but it really improves the flow of the episode and makes for a much better viewing experience imo. I know they watch on crunchyroll, but I hope they go out of their way for it!

Why did I tear up at the OP and ED as if this was a 20 y.o anime that gives me massive nostalgia? It's only been a couple of years but it's affected me so much. Gosh I love this story
Because this arc is very atmospheric. It came out in summer. it takes place in summer of 06 and mappa did a great job conveying that lonely quiet summer vibe both in terms of the op/ed and also in the color pallete of the animation itself. Perfect recipe for nostalgia.

Shoko is the doctor at Jujutsu High that Gojo brought Yuji to after he "died".
Plus she’s the one in the movie who gets a close up and says “you really forced a heap of trouble onto us, Geto”. I think Milena is remembering this detail in the discussion.
Btw Shoko is the doctor from season 1. She looks different here but don't worry she doesn't die :) because we see her in season 1

Ieiri Shoko was in S1
Again, I like this part of the season mostly because the main trio is missing lol idk.. I feel the plot is better when they are out of the picture. That’s just me … also the GOAT at the end of episode ;) one of the best characters in this ok anime besides Yuta.

This is the arc I'm most excited for you two to watch. Geto and Gojo's arcs here are so fascinating and tragic.
This is what we play the game for
From the start of this season the director for JJK changed. It's already noticeable in the animation and direction that this new director is more experimental and artistic. For me, sometimes it elevated certain scenes to great levels and sometimes it might look out of place. Either way Mappa started to treat JJK as their golden series and put serious effort into its production at this point. This season is one of my favorites in anime. Ever since the poll i was waiting for you guys to witness this season and especially the Hidden Inventory arc because of the Gojo/Geto dynamic. Though I think this arc is even bigger than that dynamic alone and basically functions as the foundation for the core of JJK's themes till the very end. Hopefully you'll have a blast!
