They do not say "Sire" they say "Ser. Ser is just the title all knights receive. So when Duncan says "my ser", he simply is referring to the knight that raised/took care of him, that being Ser Arlan of Pennytree

"Are you Baelor Targareyan.... then would you move the fook out of the way"

One of the funniest bits about the book is how often Dunk threatens to give Egg a clout in the ear. The clout in the ear meme was all I could think of when you talked about how you cannot picture Dunk hitting Egg lol. I won’t say one way or the other if he actually ever does give him a clout.

Dunk and Egg have one combined brain cell between the two of them 🥹🥹🥹

The term "sir" or "sire" is used to adress a knight who is not of "noble" origin. A commoner who became a knight. If adressing a nobleman you would say "milord"

Might be the first time I’ve watched every show they’re reacting to. It’s been a great week!

Baelor has dark hair because (iirc) their mother was a Martell from Dorne, Maekar is his younger brother but he got the Targaryen hair so he looks way older than he is. Also I wouldn’t put it past them if the actor might be the same age or older. (edit: they’re both 48 lol)

His Targaryen-hair makes him look old but actually Maekar is the youngest from four brothers.

On a sidenote the bit where we have Baelor being presented by his many many titles and then we get “and his brother, Maekar” is really funny to me. Maekar is so Stannis coded being the less charismatic, less popular brother on the shadow of his older Brother.

Though my least favorite of the season this is still a really good episode. For me the main theme of it is Dunkan coming to terms with Ser Arlan’s life (and his well endowed nature hehe) and deeds being that of an ordinary man, not a great knight. Which makes the fact that he continues to want to honor him as his legacy more substantial than if he still had an idealized image of him. It is at the same time a scathing critique of the noble class who uses those men as sad instruments of war and then forgets them, claiming they have nothing to do with it. It also speaks well that Egg is by his side supporting emotionally Dunk understanding he is relieving his master’s death so close to his passing.
