Invincible 4x04 Reaction

gonna have to hurt your ears one last time, we also lost the audio for this episode, i truly have no clue what happened but hopefully this is the last time. i recommend not watching this with headphones, i had to edit with headphones cause i was on a plane and it was not the best experience. i added subtitles to the parts that i couldn’t hear well during the reaction. thats it, it could’ve been worse, we could’ve lost the audio to the next episode..

I was hoping Satan was an amazing character at the beginning of the ep and is just another boring estereotype also Damien was less interesting in the first season looks very promising and mysterious

Completely unrelated but jesus christ I got emotional whiplash seeing the Andor finale drop to the public on YouTube, I wish I had a time machine to go back to when you just release the episode 1 reaction

There's nothing really for me to add or comment on for this episode but I will say in regards to last episode because I missed the chance to comment on it last week. It really bothers me that no character in the show has a problem with Robot/Rudy basically stealing Rex's identity. For me it especially feels weird that Eve doesn't have a problem with it. We know that Rex himself was uncomfortable with Robot taking his DNA and making a clone without his consent, so we know he also probably wouldn't be okay with Robot now taking his name just cuz he's gone, and yet he does it and no one bats an eye, not even the people closest to Rex and it's a little weird to me.

He's still Rudy to me. That bum will never be HIM. Also really miss Quinto as the Robot voice.

whether or not the episode was good, it's objectively not filler. mark went through a character change and returned to a healthier mindset, symbolized by returning to his old suit. if it were filler you can skip it with no consequence, but skipping this would lead to holes in the narrative

I agree that Mark’s development and the return to his original superhero outfit aren't filler, but the Hell setting and how it was handled definitely felt like it. I hope they use the established lore of Hell and the return of Darkblood for something meaningful later on. Also, saying there was 'character change and a return to a healthier mindset' is a big stretch. The episode spent maybe a minute in total on that, whereas I was hoping Mark would spend half the episode reflecting on himself. I was hyped for deep dialog, not for gags to make fun about Marvel's Iron-Man suit and other stuff.

The audio it petered out. It died on the vine. The cable it moved it or somethin'

I thought this episode was fun. The Slayer song really threw me off😭. It’s clearly a filler episode, but I’m a sucker for religious philosophy. ESPECIALLY, when it’s a critique on religion. I thought this episode had some great dialogue and funny scenes. Bad episode for Invincible’s standards, but a good episode in general.

I hope they just drop the ep 5 reaction today as a bonus 💀

There is no double drop :D The only double drop I remember was Vinland Saga and that only happened, because they accidentally made the wrong episode public on YouTube :D

I enjoyed this episode, it was cool learning the backstory on why there’s monsters on earth

This episode was a disappointment for me. We already knew before the season was released that episode 4 would be the episode in hell. And as someone who has read the comic, I knew that basically only one thing still has to happen before Nolan and Allen show up, was Mark's inner conflict and the return to his original superhero costume. So the fact that we got an entire episode in hell with a complete new story made my thoughts go on a roller coaster. I expected a very emotional and profound episode that addresses Mark's understanding of morality, his life as a superhero and his goals. A very good setup for later story arcs. What we got, unfortunately, was hardly any of that. We got to be honest too much lore about hell. The episode consisted of so many fight sequences and gags that I was honestly bored. They picked up Mr. Liu's dragon, which could still become interesting if they expand his backstory, but that really was not necessary here. I almost would have preferred to say that we cut the episode down to 15 minutes and then just watch episode 5 right after it. I would even say that this episode was the worst of the show, clearly below expectations and incredibly unfitting for this otherwise very strong season. I still have to watch your reaction, so let's see how you think about the episode. Maybe it's just me that my expectations for the episode were to high.

i get it, i didnt mind the episode, it was just a filler episode to me, but i get how knowing the manga this could be disappointing. yeah this episode definitely wasnt mark understanding his morality or goals, it more felt to me like he just got a second to breathe but he’s still struggling, and it looks like he is cause we watched episode 5 and 6. i have no clue how it was supposed to go but it definitely didnt feel like a pivotal moment for mark in dealing with the pressure of who he is

This is prolly my least favorite episode of the series. The whole episode is weird experience, because its one the few episodes that has an entire storyline that wasnt in the comics. There was no Hell in the comic. Damien was mostly just a Hellboy parody that was written off the story early on without explanation. To be fair tho, the story it "replaced" to explain Marks development after Invincible war/Conquest wasnt that great either. It still has enjoyable moments in it. But its prolly the only episode where i feel like the comic book was better.

You picked the perfect episode to have audio issues 😂. This was the worst rated episode of the entire show and it’s deserved unfortunately. (Only episode not to follow the comic) Luckily the next episode is the 2nd highest rated in the entire show!!! Can’t wait for ep 5 reaction!!
