Invincible 4x03 Reaction

Yeah even in the comics no one ever says anything about Rudy taking Rex's name and its really weird. I don't think you're supposed to think its normal, but still no one ever confronts him about it. It has been a sticking point for fans for years.

This pregnancy will be important. Invincible is a show that twists superhero clichés and incorporates far more serious topics than other superhero shows dared to touch, at least at the time the Invincible comics were written. Can’t wait for your reaction to the next episodes.

The good thing about the Flaxans is that no one is able to call Rudy "Rex" anymore :D But yeah, I also don’t understand why Kirkman kept that from the comics. I expected the others to sit him down and tell him that taking Rex’s name was wrong. When I saw the pregnancy test, I immediately was disappointed. Not just for Eve, but for the writing of the show in general. It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s just not the time and there’s so many things I’m excited for and now suddenly there’s a storyline that I hate taking up precious time. I think the thing that made me accept it is realizing a surprise pregnancy is SUPPOSED to be abrupt and disruptive. If I think it’s the wrong time, imagine how Eve feels. Idk, I’m iffy on the whole situation, not sure if I hate it or just don’t mind it. What I AM worried about is how much of Eve’s character and her agency will be affected being the girlfriend to the main character AND the mother of his child. I hope whatever they do, it doesn’t disappoint.
