Season 3 in 2027 October. Adapts the best arc of frieren.
This is also the perfect anime for “filler” episodes to be created for. They could do a mini-arc on a village they find in the North that’s running low on food and so they create a sustainable food system, a couple episodes on Fern running into someone who knew her parents, Frieren finds a unique mimic that triggers memories of past mimic locations.
The scenes through Himmel's eyes are so beautiful. I love the one of Frieren running to the treasure chest. Really doesn't feel like there's only one more episode, at least for now.

Watch the mini frieren anime they release on youtube. It is 2 min per ep there is like 20 of them or something. You can cover all of them in one video or two.
Rewatching season 1 and 2 together will be an emotional rollercoaster. Episodes like these will make the rewatch hurt more. The only thing that won’t be painful is meeting baby Fern again :)
Yeah. Season 3 will be very likely 12 episodes adapting Chapter 81 to 104/106 and then a Movie adapting Chapter 105/107 to 119. The movie could also be the first 7 episodes of a Season 4, but lately movies got more and more popular. I expect Frieren Season 3 in 2028. No way we will get it 2027. The team is working on another project after Frieren Season 2, so the waiting time will be longer!
Demon Slayer Mugen Train made all that $$$$ and now everyone wants in on it 😂 i dont mind it when its a contained arc because of love going to the movies…but i HATE it when they use it to end a series like they doing with Haikyuu or Demon Slayer, the wait between movies is brutal.
Who knows what will happen with this anime moving forward. Unfortunately the manga hiatus is still indefinite and the anime only has about 67 chapters left to adapt before they run out of source material. For perspective they have already adapted around 80 chapters, so it is not a lot :/ If the hiatus continues I think it would be best to adapt the next two big arcs and then pause until the manga resumes, if it ever does 😭 These next two arcs are incredible, cant wait for you both to see them.

It seems the youtube upload was titled 2x09 accidentally. Got all their hopes up.
The trouble with Frieren is that it's too good - I can't stick with any other anime or TV series because I just think "this isn't Frieren!" and I'd rather just re-watch Frieren episodes. Re-watching really pays off, actually - I almost always notice some small detail I missed the first time.
The near tears from just reading the episode title is so real and relatable haha
