Just think about how evil cats are. They kill for fun. But they don't just kill, when they catch a mouse, they play with it first, give it chances to run before pinning it to the floor again. And then kill it when it gets bored. They also learn behavior to manipulate people. They don't meow at each other, it evolved to make that sound because it sounds similar to the cry of a human baby. They only show affection when they feel like it, especially to those that give them what they want. They will abandon your house without a second thought if a neighbor has a house they like better. Murderous, selfish, that's how Frieren demons are

I think of demons like human psychopaths. Psychopaths are devoid of empathy and (sometimes) kill just because they enjoy killing. The only difference is that demons don't seem to kill demons, but even within their race they don't empathise - just think of Lugner's detached attitude when his henchman was killed by Frieren. He didn't seem remotely bothered.

Demons are monsters who learned how to speak that Flamme said she named demons though that may have been a translation error. They eat humans but also only live to focus on magic and kill humans. They are all pure evil. They all choose to do this. They don't have to. In this case they left bodies in the village to get the first class mages to show up so they can kill them
This is how i basically see them also. This is our only understanding of them so far. It could change but we don’t have that information yet. So treat them as guilty until proven innocent instead of the other way around.

I’m under the impression that the demon’s often kill people for clout. It spreads their name and may raise their rank in the demon world so to speak. However, I’m still with Lola, I can’t help but keep looking for the demon’s to have more to them. I’m convinced(or hoping) that this demon that’s curious about humans will be a bit different
Not having anything but "they're just evil" just makes it so boring.

Yeah that was the scene I predicted you would put on the thumbnail. 😂 But I want to criticize it. I got the feeling the scene ended too abruptly. I think the episode director messed up. Maybe it will change for me now, but that was my impression in the first watch.
The small comedic break, right before the tension rises, was perfect. Frieren’s party detected the demons very suddenly, and I thought the tighter cut/transition further emphasis that. I loved the editing and the direction of the entire episode in general. This ep was crazy.
